2015 NFL Mock Draft: Group Mock
Posted By 16 different draft Experts.
Round 1 Picks 17-32
Last Updated: April, 25, 2015
San Diego Chargers: Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
- Michael Gartman picked seventeenth. He needed a running back and chose Georgia's Todd Gurley over Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon.
- Regardless of whether they go with Gurley or Gordon, they need a new running back. Gurley would be a top 10 pick if it wasn't for his injuries or suspension in 2014. That's why he's a better prospect than Gordon.
Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Scherff, LT, Iowa
- Michael Harris picked eighteenth. Michael went with LSU offensive lineman La'El Colins in his first mock. After the Chiefs traded for left guard Ben Grubbs, Harris went with Iowa left tackle Brandon Scherff knowing his value was too good to pass on here.
- Kansas City tends to prefer run blockers over pass blockers. Based on the tape I've seen I truly believe that La'El Collins is the best pure run blocker in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Previous Pick: La'El Collins, LG, LSU
Cleveland Browns: Malcolm Brown, NT, Texas
- Joey Potter picked nineteenth. Joey chose Pittsburgh offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings after Clemmings had an awesome Pro Day at Pittsburgh. This time Potter addressed a critical need at nose tackle by getting Malcolm Brown out of Texas here.
- Cleveland needs more depth on their run defense. Malcolm Brown would do an awesome job boosting the run defense.
- Check out Joey's site Draft Evolution and look at their mock draft.
Previous Pick: T.J. Clemmings, RT, Pittsburgh
Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
- Walter Cherepinsky picked at twenty. Walt took Randy Gregory here in our first group mock, but this time he went with Jalen Collins out of LSU.
- Philadelphia will need more than Byron Maxwell and Walter Thurmond to cover. Jalen Collins is my top ranked corner at this spot and would be a great fit for the Eagles. You can click the links below to check out our updated mocks at Walter Football.

Previous Pick: Randy Gregory, 3-4 ROLB, Nebraska
Cincinnati Bengals: Randy Gregory, RE, Nebraska
- Jason Bantle picked twenty first. Jason was hoping Randy Gregory would fall here after his weed incident at the 2015 NFL Combine now that Alvin Dupree was gone.
- If they stay at 21, it would be a shock if D-Line or LB are not taken to improve the league low 20 sacks in 2014. Randy Gregory could start out as a depth player behind Michael Johnson or Carlos Dunlap at defensive end. You could rotate him into the lineup behind Vontaze Burfict and A.J. Hawk as well.
Previous Pick: Alvin Dupree, LE, Kentucky
Pittsburgh Steelers: Owamagbe Odighizuwa, 3-4 RE, UCLA
- Shane Hallam picked twenty second. Shane took Owamagbe Odighizua. Ogidhizua was a 3-4 right end at UCLA, but he weighs 6-3 266 lbs. That means he might move to outside linebacker in the NFL.
- This draft is really thin at this point. I think Owamagbe Odighizuwa is the best player available at this point.
Detroit Lions: Michael Benett, DT, Ohio State
- Joshua Johnson picked twenty third. He chose Eddie Goldman out of Florida State mainly because defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley are free agents in our first mock draft. This time he chose Michael Bennett out of Ohio State.
- It may be impossible for the Lions to replace Ndamukong Suh anytime soon but filling the void left by Nick Fairley with Michael Bennett should work out. It will be interesting to see if Haloti Ngata and Michael Bennett can replace Suh and Fairley as 4-3 defensive tackles.
Previous Pick: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
Arizona Cardinals: Andrus Peat, RT, Stanford
- Stephen Coganator picked twenty fourth. He chose Stanford offensive tackle Andrus Peat as a bookend right tackle to left tackle Jared Veldheer. This will improve Carson Palmer's pass protection greatly, and I don't think you can pass on a guy like Peat if he slips this far because now you can move Massie inside to right guard where he will rotate in the lineup if Jonathan Cooper cannot stay healthy.
- With the 24th pick, the Cardinals select the college Cardinal, Stanford tackle Andrus Peat and will have him compete to play tackle or guard on their offensive line going into 2015. Normally, I don't draft that position, but the value is too good.
Carolina Panthers: Ereck Flowers, LT, Miami FL
- Scott Carasik picked twenty fifth. Scott took Oregon left tackle Jake Fisher in our first mock. This time he took Ereck Flowers out of Miami FL.
- After letting Byron Bell go after 2014 and having Jordan Gross retire after 2013, the Panthers need to make sure that they have the franchise left tackle to protect Cam Newton. Flowers is an excellent athlete who understands how to set his feet effectively in pass protection while also delivering solid punch. The Panthers taking Flowers should give them one of the top two left tackles in a division that will be emphasizing pass rush this offseason.
Previous Pick: Jake Fisher, LT, Oregon
Baltimore Ravens: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
- Jesse Lucas picked twenty sixth. He chose Melvin Gordon out of Wisconsin with this pick in our first group mock. This time Baltimore chose to address wide receiver.
- Jaelen Strong is the top receiver available. He's very consistent and a solid All Around pass catcher.
Previous Pick: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
Dallas Cowboys: Kevin Johnson, CB, Wake Forest
- Andrew Kermish picked twenty seventh. Dallas took Jalen Collins. With Collins gone, Dallas chose to draft Kevin Johnson out of Wake Forest here.
- The Cowboys might part ways with Brandon Carr to save cap space. I didn't like any of the defensive ends and all of the good defensive tackles were gone. That's why I thought Kevin Johnson would be the best fit for the Dallas Cowboys at this spot.
Previous Pick: Jalen Collins, CB, LSU
Denver Broncos: Cameron Erving, C, Florida State
- Kristopher John picked twenty eighth. Kristopher John chose Cody Prewitt out of Ole Miss during our first mock. This time he went with Cameron Erving out of Florida State.
- Denver needs a new center up front on the offensive line. Cameron Erving is the only first round center plus he has the versatility to play anywhere on the offensive line.
Previous Pick: Cody Prewitt, FS, Ole Miss
Indianapolis Colts: Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
- Scott DelleFave picked twenty ninth. Last time Oren Shiri picked for the Colts. Oren narrowed this pick down to PAC 12 studs Eric Kendricks out of UCLA and Arik Armstead. This time Scott chose a PAC 12 player too, but DelleFave went with Marcus Peters out of Washington.
- The Colts need a cornerback. Marcus Peters is the best cover corner in this draft when he stays out of trouble and keeps his head on straight.
Previous Pick: Arik Armstead, 3-4 LE, Oregon
Green Bay Packers: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin
- Jason Bantle picked thirtieth. He chose Bernardrick McKinney out of Mississippi State in his first mock. This time Jason chose the best player available in Melvin Gordon rather than address a need.
- Green Bay could add McKinney and draft for need. With Melvin Gordon still available, the Packer draft a hometown running back to compliment Eddie Lacy in the backfield.
Previous Pick: Bernardrick McKinney, 3-4 MLB, Mississippi State
New Orleans Saints: Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida
- Oren Shiri picked thirty first with the Saints after Scott DelleFave picked 31st with the Seahawks in our last group mock. Scott chose Dorial Green-Beckham. Oren went with Breshad Perriman out of Central Florida who has seen his stock soar like crazy.
- The New Orleans Saints need a big physical receiver next to Marques Colston so Brandin Cooks can stay in the slot. Breshad Perriman is a big physical receiver who blew teams away with his 4.28 40 time at Central Florida's Pro Day.
Previous Pick: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
New England Patriots: Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State
- Chris Ransom picked thirty second. He chose P.J. Williams who was the best player on the board in his last mock. This time Ransom went with another Seminole in Eddie Goldman.
- With Vince Wilfork gone the Patriots need another defensive tackle. Goldman would be a perfect fit here. Like Wilfork, Goldman has more experience in a 4-3 defense, but has the size of a 3-4 nose tackle at the same time.
Previous Pick: P.J. Williams, CB, Florida State
