Round 2

Posted By Chris Ransom Last Updated: April 14, 2016.

  1. Cleveland Browns: Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State

Robert Cobb took Myles Jack in the first round. Rob began the second round getting Cleveland a quarterback to groom behind Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown with both under contract until 2018.

After taking Myles Jack, Cleveland needs a quarterback. Cardale Jones made total sense here.

Previous Pick: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

  2. Tennessee Titans: Josh Doctson, WR, TCU

Mark T. Wilson took Laremy Tunsil in the first round. In the second round Mark gave the Titans Michael Thomas hoping he can be the Titans #1 wide receiver.

The Tennessee Titans have many holes to fill and with their first selection they went offensive, but protection wise. Now it's the time to think play-makers and name a better one than TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson.

Josh Doctson had back-to-back seasons of 1,000 receiving yards. He weighed 6-3 200 lbs at the NFL Combine and put his durability concerns to rest making him quite the bargain in the second round.

  3. Dallas Cowboys: Keanu Neal, FS, Florida

Andrew Kermish went with Joey Bosa in the first round. Dallas went with a free safety in the second round.

Dallas needs a free safety so Byron Jones can play cornerback full time. Keanu Neal is a great value pick at the top of the second round.

Previous Pick: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State

  4. San Diego Chargers: Jarran Reed, 3-4 LE, Alabama

Jared Michael Palakanis picked here. Jared went with Jalen Ramsey in round 1. The Chargers make went with another defensive player in the second round.

Jarran is going to fit well as a 3-4 DE for the Chargers. We will have to address other positions later.

Previous Pick: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

  5. Baltimore Ravens: Jason Spriggs, LT, Indiana

Bryan Luis picked here. After drafting DeForest Buckner in the first round, Baltimore chose a left tackle here.

Baltimore needs a left tackle which would allow Eugene Monroe to move inside to left guard. Jason Spriggs is such a steal at this point and gives the Ravens a blindside at left tackle.

Previous Pick: Taylor Decker, RT, Ohio State

  6. San Francisco 49ers: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

Stephen Coganator picked here. He got Carson Wentz a target to throw to after taking North Dakota State's quarterback in the first round.

San Francisco needs a wide receiver if they draft a quarterback in the first round. Corey Coleman is a steal in the second round.

Previous Pick: Darian Thompson, FS, Boise State

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: Scooby Wright, LOLB, Arizona

Joseph Potter picked here. After taking Vernon Hargreaves III in the first round he chose to go with Scooby Wright.

Scooby Wright can play 4-3 linebacker or 3-4 linebacker on the outside or inside in any scheme. He's just that versatile. Wright can start in a SAM role at left outside linebacker. As Paul Posluszney ages, Wright can work hsi way into the MIKE role and become a leader on this defense.

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jeremy Cash, SS, Duke

Grace Mothersole picked here. After taking Emmanuel as a right end in the first round she went with a strong safety in the second round.

Jeremy Cash has the versatility to play strong safety, free safety, left outside linebacker, or right outside linebacker. He blitzes like Troy Polamalu, can stop the run, is a tackling machine, and covers well in zone.

Cash's coverage isn't at an elite level yet, but it may get there over time. Cash does everything else well and does not miss tackles. Cash can be used in a similar fashion as former Buccaneer Mark Barron and would be difficult for offenses to plan around if Cash can make the kind of impact in Tampa Bay that Barron made when Tampa dealt Barron to the Rams.

Previous Pick: Zack Sanchez, CB, Oklahoma

  9. New York Giants: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State

Brian Bayless went with Reggie Ragland at 10. He went with a wide receiver at 40 after the team addressed a lot of defensive needs in Free Agency.

With Reuben Randle in Philaadelphia we need a big physical wide receiver across from Odell Beckham Jr. Michael Thomas has that size to command a presence across from Beckham and is a great pick for the Giants at this point.

Previous Pick: Kenny Clark, DT, UCLA

  10. Chicago Bears: Miles Killebrew, SS, Southern Utah

Jimmy Dicken picked here. He gave the Bears Jared Goff in the first round. This round he went with a safety.

At 41, the Bears select Miles Killebrew. Killebrew like Amos can play SS or FS and can line up in zone coverage real well while being an instinctive tackler. Killebrew should compliment Adrian Amos at strong safety in Chicago.

Previous Pick: Kevin Dodd, LE, Clemson

  11. Miami Dolphins: Kevin Dodd, LE, Clemson

Emily Rosario picked here. After going with Darron Lee at 13, Emily added another defensive player.

I was torn between Kevin Dodd and Jonathan Bullard. Dodd is more physically imposing and is money against right tackles, but Bullard can rush the quarterback and stop the run as well. Dodd seems like a better prospect on tape, but at this juncture you have to go with someone like Dodd here.

Previous Pick: Keanu Neal, FS, Florida

  12. Los Angeles Rams: Su'a Cravens, SS, USC

Ken LeBlanc picked for the Rams here thanks to the Nick Foles trade. He has two of the next three picks so it will be interesting to see what he does after taking Rober Nkemdiche in the first round.

With the 45th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft the Los Angeles Rams select Su'a Cravens, S from USC. Cravens can play both outside linebacker and safety which is why he's a great fit here.

Previous Pick: Jalen Mills, FS, LSU

  13. Oakland Raiders: Karl Joseph, SS, West Virginia

Oren Shiri picked here. After giving the Raiders DSheldon Rankins in the first round. Oren went with a safety in the second round.

The Raiders get a safety they desperately covet with this pick. Karl Joseph is a first round safety. Joseph can play free safety or strong safety. With Reggie Nelson coming to Oakland as a free safety, Joseph compliments him at strong safety.

Previous Pick: Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State

Ken picked here again. He went with Braxton Miller and gave the Rams a wide receiver to throw to.

Braxton Miller gives the Rams a dynamic playmaker to throw to. Having Miller will allow the Rams to stretch the field on the outside across from Kenny Britt.

Previous Pick: Su'a Cravens, SS, USC

  15. Detroit Lions: Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame

Jeff Hensley picked here. The Lions took Leonard Floyd in the first round. The Lions drafted their first offensive player in the second round.

Detroit has Golden Tate and Marvin Jones on the outside. Adding Will Fuller in the slot only makes this potent offense even deadlier.

Previous Pick: Jeremy Cash, SS, Duke

  16. New Orleans Saints: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor

Mitch Pabst picked here. After taking Shaq Lawson in the first round he narrowed this pick down to guard and defensive tackle. Andrew Billings ended up .

New Orleans needs another defensive tackle. Andrew Billings fills a need and gives someone along with John Jenkins and Nick Fairley on the Saints 4-3 defensive line at defensive tackle.

Previous Pick: Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech

  17. Indianapolis Colts: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

Jesse Lucas picked here. The Colts needed a cornerback after taking Jack Conklin in the first round.

Kendall Fuller is a steal here. He can come in, have a comeback season in the NFL, and shore up this secondary immediately.

  18. Buffalo Bills: Vadal Alexander, LG, LSU

Scott DelleFave picked here. He went with A'Shawn Robinson out of Alabama in round 1. Scott went with another SEC player here.

Buffalo needs depth at guard. Vadal Alexander is one of the top guards left in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Previous Pick: Leonard Floyd, LOLB, Georgia

  19. Atlanta Falcons: Von Bell, SS, Ohio State

John Butts picked here. After going with Noah Spence at right end, the Falcons used this pick on a starting safety.

Atlanta needs a safety. Von Bell is the best player available at this pick.

Previous Pick: Nick Martin, C, Notre Dame

  20. New York Jets: Shon Coleman, LT, Auburn

Morgan Epstein picked here. Morgan went with Taylor Decker as a right tackle in the first round to compliment left tackle Ryan Clady. This round, the Jets took their quarterback.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is still not a Jet. His sense of entitlement with wanting more money offends me. Geno Smith giving Fantasy Football advice on NFL Network while injured after getting punched in the face by an ex teammate also offends me and Bryce Petty got cussed at by Gruden as Ransom has pointed out on Jon Gruden's quarterback club on ESPN.

Previous Pick: Shon Coleman, LT, Auburn

  21. Houston Texans: Jalen Mills, FS, LSU

Houston took Joshua Perry in the first round. This round Houston went with a starting safety.

THE TEXANS SELECT JALEN MILLS FS/CORNER LSU. THE TEXANS have a few positions they need Depth at or versatile players...

The concern with Jalen Mills many might FOCUS ON are some possible character issue.

But going to HOUSTON with COACH BILL O'BRIEN and ROMEO CRENNEL... Two "disciplinarians" that surely will get the best out of a player like Jalen, put him in best position to succeed & more importantly ; these coaches will gain his respect and find a way to balance things out with Jalen..

Many may know Jalen Mills stepped up as a True Freshman starting at "Corner" when Tyrann Mathieu was released from the Program... Mills preformed at a High level starting his final five Games at nickelback and safety.

(30 tackles,a sack, three pass breakups). Mills' toughness is one of his greatest qualities given his strength as a tackler (62 stops in 2014) and the hands to create turnovers consistently; (six interceptions in his first three years).

IN ADDITION, moving to SAFETY completely defines Jalen Mills has a physical element about him because he is a proven strong tackler.

MILLS MAYBE ABLE TO PROVIDE A STRONG SAFETY PRESENCE IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS ....

I would presume MILLS plays more FS ROVER , BOUNDARY CORNER A LITTLE OR NICKEL/ ZONE COVERAGE @ AGAIN (FS).

BUT WHERE EVER JALEN MILLS PLAYS, THERE IS NO DENYING THIS KID PROVIDES TEXANS SECONDARY WITH QUALITY VERSATILITY !!!!

Previous Pick: Tyler Matakevich, LOLB, Temple

  22. Washington Redskins: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh

Tanya Holmes picked here. She went with William Jackson III in the first round. She went with a wide receiver in the second round.

Washington got their cornerback. Now we need a #1 receiver to pair up with Jordan Reed. The only big wide receiver left is Tyler Boyd. With the 52nd pick in the 2016 NFL Group Mock Draft, the Washington Redskins select Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh.

Boyd provides Cousins with a big target after we took William Jackson III in the first round. He also motivates Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson to both perform better in a contract year.

Previous Pick: Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama

  23. Minnesota Vikings: Jonathan Bullard, LE, Florida

Joseph Kemper picked here. He went with wide receiver Laquon Treadwell in the first round. This time he went with Jonathan Bullard as a 4-3 left end.

Minnesota needs an upgrade over Brian Robison. Jonathan Bullard is the best player available here.

Previous Pick: Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame

  24. Cincinnati Bengals: Nick Martin, C, Notre Dame

Cincinnati took Jaylon Smith in the first round as Jason Bantle added Smith despite nerve damage in his knee. The guy Jason wanted in the second round was another player on the Fighting Irish.

I like Nick Martin better than Ryan Kelly. Both Kelly and Martin provide tremendous value, but Martin joins the Bengals here.

Previous Pick: Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville

  25. Seattle Seahawks: Shon Coleman, LT, Auburn

Donovan James took Derrick Henry in the first round for Seattle. In the second round, the he went with Shon Coleman.

Seattle needs a left tackle to replace Russell Okung. Shon Coleman is a premium value pick in the second round.

Previous Pick: Bronson Kaufusi, RE, BYU

  26. Green Bay Packers: Kentrell Brothers, 3-4 MLB, Missouri

Lisa Donovan went with Vernon Butler in the first round. Here she went with Kentrell Brothers.

I considered both Kentrell Brothers and Devontae Booker here, I knew I had to get a middle linebacker in the second round and Brothers was the top linebacker left.

  27. Pittsburgh Steelers: Darian Thompson, FS, Boise State

Shane Hallam picked for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round. He went with Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple in the first round. You figured they would add a safety here.

The Pittsburgh Steelers went with Darian Thompson here. Pittsburgh took Thompson in the first round of our very first group mock.

Previous Pick: Von Bell, SS, Ohio State

  28. Kansas City Chiefs: T.J. Green, FS, Clemson

Michael KbKc Harris picked here. He went with Joshua Garnett in the first round. The Chiefs added a safety for depth here.

T.J. Green should be gone by now. Green gives Kansas City a free safety for depth behind Rob Parker.

Previous Pick: Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh

  29. New England Patriots: Blake Martinez, MLB, Stanford

I'm finally picking. Chris Ransom had to wait 59 picks, but now I'm on the clock. With Mayo retiring middle linebacker is now a huge need.

WIth the 60th pick in the 2016 NFL Group mock, the New england patriots select Blake Martinez, MLB, Stanford. The 6-2 245 lb Blake Martinez can be a 4-3 middle linebacker or a 3-4 middle linebacker. Martinez had 75 solo tackles, 65 assisted tackles, and 140 total tackles in 2015. Martinez may be a slight reach, but he fills the Patriots biggest need at middle linebacker. This draft is loaded with slot receivers and we can find a slot guy with one of our two third round picks.

  30. New England Patriots: Zack Sanchez, CB, Oklahoma

I picked again at 61 thanks to the Chandler Jones trade. I went with Zack Sanchez as a nickel cornerback to compliment Malcolm Butler and Logan Ryan.

Zack Sanchez has the ability to be a #1 field cornerback. In New England he could start out in the nickel and work his way into a boundary role across from Malcolm Butler.

Previous Pick: Yannick Ngakoue, 3-4 ROLB, Maryland

  31. Carolina Panthers: Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson

Joshua Johnson took Jack Conklin at 30. Here he got Jayron Kearse in the second round.

Carolina needs a safety to replace Roman Harper. The nephew of Jayron Kearse is a great value pick.

Previous Pick: John Theus, RT, Georgia

  32. Denver Broncos: Kyler Fackrell, 3-4 MLB, Utah State

Davey wrapped up this mock by picking for Denver. He went with quarterback Paxton Lynch in the first round. Davey went with a 3-4 middle linebacker here.

With the exit of Danny Trevathen and possibly Brandon Marshall broncos need to Address the LB he's a well balanced LB who can blitz or drop back in coverage. With Von Miller DeMarcus Ware And Shane Ray going after the QB Shaquil Barrett Brandon Marshall and Kyler can drop in coverage or blitz.

Previous Pick: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
