Dallas Wings: Paige Bueckers, PG, Connecticut
- The Dallas Wings are expected to move Arike Ogunbowale from the 1 at point guard to the 2 at shooting guard since she's quite the combo guard. Teaira McCowan is also going to be back as the Dallas Wings starting center in 2025. Drafting Paige Bueckers the top prospect in the 2025 WNBA Draft to be the new point guard with Arike Ogunbowale at shooting guard. Dallas still needs a small forward and power forward to round out their starting five, but with a second first round pick at 12 and their 2026 first round pick, the Dallas Wings can get those pieces to build around Bueckers and Ogunbowale.
- The 6-0 140 lb Paige Bueckers averaged 20 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, 5.7 assists per game, 2.3 steals per game, a 52.4% field goal percentage, a 86.9% free throw percentage, and a 46.4% three point percentage as a true freshman in 2020-2021. Paige Bueckers averaged 14.6 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, a 54.4% field goal percentage, a 71.4% free throw percentage, and a 35.3% three point percentage as a sophomore before a season ending injury in 2021-2022.
- Paige Bueckers took a medical redshirt in 2022-2023 to recover from her season ending injury during her sophomore season. Paige Buekers had 21.9 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game, 2.2 steals per gmae, 1.4 blocks per game, a 53% field goal percentage, a 83.4% free throw percentage, and a 41.6% three point percentage while taking Connecticut to the 2024 Final 4 in Women's Basketball where Bueckers lost a close game to last years first overall pick Caitlin Clark as a junior redshirt in 2023-2024. Paige Bueckers had 19.9 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game, 2.1 steals per game, a 53.4% field goal percentage, a 88.9% free throw percentage, and a 41.9% three point percentage leading Connecticut to a National Title as a senior redshirt in 2024-2025.
- Paige Bueckers can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range. She passes well. She defends effectively against the 1 at point guard as well as the 2 at shooting guard regardless of what critics have to say about her size in terms of height and weight. Paige Bueckers could go back to Connecticut since she does have one more year of eligibility thanks to the Covid-19 rule, but Bueckers declared for the 2025 WNBA Draft as expected after leading Connecticut to a second consecutive Final 4 before leading Connecticut to another Women's Basketball Championship.
Seattle Storm: Shyanne Sellers, PG, Maryland
- The Seattle Storm had five scorers in their starting five average 10 points per game. The Seattle Storm starting five features Lexie Brown at point guard, Skylar Diggins-Smith at shooting guard, Gabby Williams at small forward, Nneka Ogwumike at power forward, and Ezi Magbegor at center. Everyone in Seattle's current starting five outside of Lexie Brown, the point guard they traded for averages over 10 points per game. Most 2025 WNBA Mock Drafts are penciling Dominique Malonga a center out of France to the Seattle Storm with Olivia Miles returning to college to enter the transfer portal. I'm going in a different route at 2 since point guard is the biggest need for this Seattle Storm team short term if they want to contend this season. Drafting Malonga and blowing up this aging team by moving Diggins, Ogwumike, and Magbegor for draft capital is an option, but I don't think it's the smart play. Drafting Shyanne Sellers at 2 and trying to compete for one more playoff spot with this starting five is the smart play for the Seattle Storm.
- Shyanne Sellers was a player my co host Joey told me about last year. She cracks the first round despite not breaking out until her sophomore season.
- The 6-2 160 lb Shyanne Sellers had 13.9 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game, a 48.6% field goal percentage, a 80.7% free throw percentage, and a 34.7% three point percentage as a sophomore in 2022-2023. Shyanne Sellers had 15.6 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, 5.5 assists per game, 1.3 steals per game, a 43.4% field goal percentage, a 84.9% free throw percentage, and a 31.8% three point percentage as a junior in 2023-2024. Shyanne Sellers had 14.4 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game, 1 steal per game, a 46.2% field goal percentage, a 86.8% free throw percentage, and a 40.8% three point percentage in 2024-2025.
- Shyanne Sellers can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range. She's one of the best passers in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She's an elite defender despite her size that defends well against the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, the 4 at power forward, and the 5 at center. Shyanne Sellers was the biggest reason Maryland got to the Sweet 16 in 2025.
Previous Pick: Olivia Miles, PG, Notre Dame
Washington Mystics: Sonia Citron, SG, Nore Dame
- The Washington Mystics have Brittney Sykes at point guard in a contract year with 12.2 points per game, Aliyah Edwards their 2024 first round pick at power forward, and Shakira Austin who averaged 11.8 points per game back at center in a contract year before she becomes an RFA in 2026. This leaves small forward as the lone need for the Washington Mystics. Washington has three of the top six selections picking third, fourth, and sixth in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
- LSU small forward Aneesah Morrow does the biggest need at small forward. However other value picks like Notre Dame shooting guard Sonia Citron, USC power forward Kiki Iriafen, and LDLC Asvel center Dominique Malonga are all upgrades over current starters on this roster despite having a glaring need at small forward. With three of the top 6 picks, it is possible that the Washington Mystics can draft for value over need and still get the best small forward in the 2025 WNBA Draft at 6.
- Notre Dame shooting guard Sonia Citron makes the most sense at 3. She would give the Washington Mystics a long-term starter at shooting guard, but she also has the versatility to play small forward.
- The 6-1 Sonia Citron is a consensus top 5 pick in most 2025 WNBA Mock Drafts, but her production isn't as consistent as you'd like it to be. Sonia Citron had 11.8 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per gmae, 1.6 steals per game, a 44.6% field goal percentage, a 84.3% free throw percentage, and a 34.1% three point percentage as a freshman at Notre Dame in 2021-2022. Sonia Citron had 14.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists pe game, 1.7 steals per gmae, a 47.6% field goal percentage, a 96.4% free throw percentage, and had a 40% three point percentage as a sophomore in 2022-2023. Sonia Citron had 17.3 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game, a 46% field goal percentage, a 91.2% free throw percentage, and a 35.9% three point percentage as a junior at Notre Dame in 2023-2024. Sonia Citron had 14.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, 1.9 steals per game, a 48.4% field goal percentage, a 89% free throw percentage, and a 37.2% three point percentage as a senior in 2024-2025.
- Sonia Citron can score from short range, medium range, or long range. Sonia Citron showed she could do these things consistently at Notre Dame and should be a top 3 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Previous Pick: Aneesah Morrow, SF, LSU
Washington Mystics: Kiki Iriafen, PF, USC
- The Washington Mystics have Ariel Atkins at point guard in a contract year who led the Mystics with 14.9 points per game back, Brittney Sykes at shooting guard in a contract year with 12.2 points per game, Aliyah Edwards their 2024 first round pick at power forward, and Shakira Austin who averaged 11.8 points per game back at center in a contract year before she becomes an RFA in 2026. This leaves small forward as the lone need for the Washington Mystics and this is not a great small forward class, so there may be an incentive to trade down to get more picks in future WNBA Drafts. I found a riser for the 2025 WNBA Draft that nobody is talking about and even took the intiative of moving that player into the top 5 and will probably get some backlash for putting Olivia Pollerd at four in my first 2025 WNBA Mock Draft.
- The 6-3 Kiki Iriafen didn't break out until her junior year at Stanford last year. Kiki Iriafen didn't have 10 points per game as a freshman or a sophomore.
- Kiki Iriafen had 19.4 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, a 54.6% field goal percentage, a 77.3% free throw percentage, and a 33.3% three point percentage as a junior at Stanford in 2023-2024. Kiki Iriafen complimented Cameron Brink on Stanford's front court.
- Kiki Iriafen left Stanford and transferred to USC to play with point guard JuJu Watkins this season. Kiki Iriafen had 18 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, 1 steal per game, a 49% field goal percentage, a 81.1% free throw percentage, and a 28.6% three point percentage in 2024-2025.
- Kiki Iriafen is a top 5 player with the short rangeand medium range you covet. You want to see her shoot more consistently from long range. You also want to see her pass more consistently too. Kiki Iriafen can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. Kiki Iriafen would be a great building block for the Washington Mystics at 4.
Previous Pick: Olivia Pollerd, SF, Santa Clara
Golden State Valkyries: Dominique Malonga, C, LDLC Asvel
- The Golden State Valkyries need an identity. Dominique Malonga gives the Golden State Valkyries an identity here.
- The 6-6 Dominique Malonga is versatile enough to play both power forward and center. She's mainly a center, but the top International player in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
- Dominique Malonga had 18.5 points per game, 11 rebounds per game, and 1.4 assists per game in 2024-2025. Dominique Malonga can make shots from short range or medium range. She can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, the 4 at power forward, and the 5 at center. Malonga is great at blocking shots and generating rebounds.
Previous Pick: Kiki Iriafen, PF, USC
Washington Mystics: Aneesah Morrow, SF, LSU
- The Washington Mystics get a small forward here. Aneesah Moore makes a lot of sense at 6.
- LSU forward Aneesah Morrow is a true wing with the versatility to play the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. The 6-1 185 lb Aneesah Morrow can play either the 2 at shooting guard or the 3 at small forward. Aneesah Morrow has been a four year starter in Women's College Basketball. Aneesah Morrow spent her first two seasons at Depaul before entering the transfer portal and enrolling at LSU last year.
- Aneesah Morrow had 21.9 points per game, 13.8 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, 2.7 steals per game, 1.8 blocks per game, a 51.9% field goal percentage, aa 70.5% free throw percentage, and a 23.3% three point percentage in her freshman season at Depaul in 2020-2021. Aneesah Morrow had 25.7 poitns per game, 12.2 rebounds per game, 2 assists per game, 2.6 steals per game, 1.3 blocks per game, a 42.5% field goal percentage, a 64.6% free throw percentage, and a 25.4% three point percentage as a sophomore at Depaul in 2022-2023.
- Aneesah Morrow had 16.4 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game, 2.5 steals per game, 1.1 blocks per game, a 46.4% field goal percentage, a 80.1% free throw percentage, and a 21.7% three point percentage as a junior at LSU in 2023-2024. Aneesah Morrow had 18.7 points per game, 13.5 rebounds per game, 1.6 assists per game, 2.5 steals per game, a 49% field goal perentage, a 73.4% free throw percentage, and a 28.9% three point percentage as a senior at LSU in 2024-2025.
- Aneesah Morrow is a consistent short range and medium range shooter. She can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. Aneesah Morrow is the best rebounder at the NCAA level in the 2025 WNBA Draft, the most versatile player in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and she's the most consistent scorer. She's also the most durable player, but here three point shooting percentage will probably keep her from going in the top five. Washington will not pass on Aneesah Morrow at 6 since the Washington Mystics need a small forward to round out their starting five.
Previous Pick: Sonia Citron, SG, Nore Dame
Connecticut Sun: Makayla Timpson, PF, Florida State
- The Connecticut Sun have Marina Mabrey at point guard, Diamond DeShields at shooting guard, and Tina Charles at center. Getting a small forward and power forward to round out this starting five will be key. Luckily, the Connecticut Sun have the seventh and eighth pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The Connecticut Sun draft their power forward here at 7.
- The 6-2 Makayla Timpson is a four year starter on the Florida State Women's Basketball team. She's a four year starter for the Florida State Seminoles, but she didn't break out until her sophomore season.
- Makayla Timpson had 13.2 points per game, 8.8 rebounds per game, 0.3 assists per game, 1.1 steals per game, 2.1 blocks per game, a 58.1% field goal percentage, a 71.8% free throw percentage, and a 0% three point percentage as a sophomore in 2022-2023. Makayla Timpson had 14.3 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, 0.4 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game, 2.6 blocks per game, a 56.6% field goal percentage, a 71.3% free throw percentage, and a 33.3% three point percentage as a junior in 2023-2024. Makayla Timpson had 17.5 points per game, 10.6 rebounds per game, 1 assist per game, 1.8 steals per game, 3.1 blocks per game, a 54.3% field goal percentage, a 76% free throw percentage, and a 25% three point percentage as a senior in 2024-2025.
- Makayla Timpson can score from short range and medium range. She can defend the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. She's one of the better defenders in the 2025 WNBA Draft, but she needs to improve her passing and three point shooting.
- Makalya Timpson gives the Connecticut Sun starter at power forward. Connecticut can use their next pick on a small forward to round out their starting five.
Previous Pick: Georgia Amoore, PG, Kentucky
Connecticut Sun: Ajsa Sivka, SF, Tarbes Gespe Bigorre
- The Connecticut Sun get a small forward at 8 with the first round. Ajsa Sivka is the second International player to be featured in the first round of this mock draft.
- The 6-4 Ajsa Sivka had 11 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 2.9 assists per game. She's versatile enough to play both small forward and power forward with her versatility and goes to Connecticut as a small forward.
Previous Pick: JJ Quinnerly, SG, West Virginia
Los Angeles Sparks: Georgia Amoore, PG, Kentucky
- Los Angeles has Kelsey Plum at shooting guard, Rickea Jackson at small forward thanks to drafting her fourth overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Cameron Brink at power forward who went second overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and Dearica Hamby at center in their current starting five for next season. Hamby moved back to power forward when Brink suffered a season ending injury once last years starting center Azura Stevens returned from an injury. Los Angeles has three bigs that have the versatility to play center in Brink, Hamby, and Stevens this upcoming season. Hamby and Stevens are in contract years entering 2025. Getting a point guard to round out the starting five has to be the priority and one point guard that wowed me on tape was Kentucky point guard Georgia Amoore.
- Georgia Amoore had 11.8 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game, a 39.1% field goal percentage, a 82.9% free throw percentage, and a 39.9% three point percentage as a freshman at Virginia Tech in 2020-2021. Georgia Amoore had 11.2 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game, 4.4 assists per game, 1 steal per game, a 40.3% field goal percentage, a 80% free throw percentage, and a 40% three point percentage as a sophomore at Virginia Tech in 2021-2022. Georgia Amoore had 16.3 points pe rgame, 3 rebounds per game, 4.9 assists per game, a 37.9% field goal percentage, a 80% free throw percentage, and a 34.5% three point percentage as a junior in 2022-2023. Georgia Amoore had 18.8 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 6.8 assists per game, a 41.2% field goal percentage, a 85.9% fre throw percentage, and a 33.5% three point percentage as a senior at Virginia Tech in 2023-2024.
- Georgia Amoore was recovering from a season ending injury, so she chose to come back for one more year of Women's College Basketball. Georgia Amoore transferred to Kentucky. Georgia Amoore had 19.6 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, 6.9 assists per game, 1 steal per game, a 42.3% field goal percentage, a 83.7% free throw percentage, and a 33.6% three point percentage so far in her fifth year of NCAA eligibility.
- The 5-6 Georgia Amoore was a first round prospect in the 2024 WNBA Draft before returning to the NCAA. She might get picked higher now if she continues to play at a high level at Kentucky. Georgia Amoore might be a day 1 starter at point guard for the Los Angeles Sparks despite her size.
Previous Pick: Makayla Timpson, PF, Florida State
Chicago Sky: Madison Scott, SF, Ole Miss
- The Chicago Sky have two building blocks from the 2024 WNBA Draft with Kamila Cardoso at center drafted third overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and Angel Reese at power forward drafted seventh overall. The Chicago Sky had four double digit point scorers last year. One was traded, one was a Free Agent, and the other two were power forward Angel Reese and starting center Elizabeth Williams before Kamilla Cardoso took the center job. Chicago needs Cardoso to step up as a complimentary piece to Reese this season. Chicago is also expected to add Indiana Fever shooting guard Kelsey Mitchell in Free Agency. There's been speculation on where Kelsey Mitchell ends up, but nothing is certain on Mitchell yet. In this first mock, I'll assume she ends up on the Fire and if she comes back, I can always make another mock. That leaves point guard and small forward as the two positions the Chicago Sky must address in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
- The Chicago Sky added Ariel Atkins and Courtney Vandersloot at point guard in Free Agency. Kia Nurse and Rebecca Allen were aded at shooting guard. Getting a small forward to round out this starting five is the lone need for the Chicago Sky now. Ole Miss small forward Madison Scott fills a need for the Chicago Sky.
- The 6-2 Madison Scott had 11.8 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game, a 46.6% field goal percentage, a 73.7% free throw prcentage, and a 23.5% three point percentage. Madison Scott is versatile enough to play the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, or the 4 at power forward..
- Madison Scott can hit shots from short range or medium range. She defends well against the 1 at point guard, the 2 at shooting guard, the 3 at small forward, and the 4 at power forward. She's got to improve her passing and three point shooting, but she's got most of the traits you look for in a first round pick at small forward.
Previous Pick: Te-Hina Paopao, PG, South Carolina
Minnesota Lynx: Te-Hina Paopao, PG, South Carolina
- The Minnesota Lynx have Courtney Williams at point guard, Kayla McBride at shooting guard, Alanna Smith at small foward, Bridget Carleton at power forward, and Napheesa Collier who mainly plays power forward at center since Collier has the versatility to play both power forward as well as center. All five starters from the 2024 Western Conference Champion and 2024 WNBA Runner Up are back. Diamond Miller is the backup small forward and Alissa Pili is the backup power forward. Minnesota needs to draft a backup point guard or a backup center for depth here. I'll give Minnesota a backup point guard here.
- The 5-9 145 lb Te-Hina Paopao was a three year starter at Oregon. She transferred to South Carolina and started at point guard last year on Dawn Staley's Championship winning team before using her fifth year of NCAA eligiblity thanks to Covid-19 this season.
- Te-Hina Paopao had 10.2 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, 4.4 assists per game, 1.4 steals per game, a 43.3% field goal percentage, a 80% free throw percentage, and a 39.5% three point percentage as a freshman in 202-2021. Te-Hina Paopao had 13.6 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game, 1.1 steals per game, a 38.7% field goal percentage, a 87% free throw percentage, and a 30% three point percentage as a sophomore in 2021-2022. Te-Hina Paopao had 13.1 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game, 1.3 steals per game, a 44% field goal percentage, a 88% free throw percentage, and a 42.4% three point percentage as a junior in 2022-2023.
- Te-Hina Paopao had 11 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game, 9.8 steals per game, a 46.1% field goal percentage, a 84.8% free throw percentage, and a 46.8% three point percentage as a senior on South Carolina's Championship winning team in 2023-2024. Te-Hina Paopao had 9.4 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 2.8 assists per game, 1.1 steals per game, a 44.4% field goal percentage, a 73.7% free throw percentage, and a 37% three point percentage as a fifth year senior on South Carolina so far in 2024-2025.
- Te-Hina Paopao can shoot from short range, medium range, or long range. She's a great passer with the court vision of a floor general. She's an elite defender despite her size that defends well against the 1 at point guard and the 2 at shooting guard.
- Drafting Te-Hina Paopao as a backup guard seems like an ideal strategy for the Minnesota Lynx. She's someone who can be molded into a future starter.
Previous Pick: Shyanne Sellers, PG, Maryland
Dallas Wings: Sania Feagin, PF, South Carolina
- The Dallas Wings get a power forward to round out their starting five. Sania Feagin is the best forward on the board, but there's not a forward left at either small forward or power forward that averages over 10 points a game. The Dallas Wings can either draft a forward at 12 hoping to find a starter in the starting five or they can draft the best player on their board even if that player starts out as a bench player behind Paige Buekers, Arike Ogunbowale, and Teaira McCowan. The Dallas Wings drafted Jacy Shelton fifth overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft and traded her away after her rookie season.
- The Dallas Wings seems committed to a long-term rebuild around Paige Buekers and Arike Ogunbowale despite having Ogunbowale and a bunch of other veterans on one year contracts. You could draft a shooting guard like JJ Quinnerly if you think Ogunowale is gonna walk, but something tells me the Dallas Wings will do everything in their power to keep those guards locked up similar to what the Indiana Fever have with Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark.
- South Carolina power forward Sania Feagin is the best player available. She can be drafted as the power forward and eased into the lineup.
- The 6-3 Sania Feagin had 8.1 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, 1.5 blocs per game, a 60.1% field goal percentage, a 79.7$ free throw percentage, and a 33.3% three point percentage in 2024-2025. She has a chance to be a day 1 starter with the Dallas Wings at 12.
Previous Pick: Ayoka Lee, C, Kansas State
Other 2025 WNBA Mock Drafts
