Buffalo Bills Kicker Dan Carpenter Expects To Defeat Former Team

Buffalo Bills kicker Dan Carpenter kicked three field goals against the Chicago Bears in week 1. This includes the game-winning field goal in overtime at Soldier Field that pissed off many Bears’ fans.

In week 2, the Bills host Carpenter’s former team, the Miami Dolphins. Revenge is always on a players mind when they face a former team. When Brett Favre went to the Vikings all he was focused on was getting revenge on the Packers. Now you have Julius Peppers going from the Bears to the Packers and Jared Allen going from the Vikings to the Bears. Shit hit the fan in the NFC North as pass rushers travelled across the northern area of the United States during the 2014 NFL Free Agency Period.

What does the NFC North and revenge have to do with Dan F’ing Carpenter. Well for starters, Dan Carpenter used to play for the Miami Dolphins. Then the Dolphins replaced him with hometown kicker Caleb Sturgis a former Florida Gator.

With Carpenter’s newfound confidence he expects to do more against the Dolphins in week 2. Kicking a game-winning field goal in overtime to start the season does wonders for your confidence. When you face your former team in week 2, you are determined to kick some more field goals when provided the opportunity on fourth down.

At the end of the day there is one statistic and language these teams speak. That is points. Who scores the most. While Carpenter would love to have a field day with five field goals against the Dolphins, a 21 to 17 team victory where he kicks no field goals would be just as satisfying.

After defeating a team like the Chicago Bears on the road you have this mindset where you expect results. Maybe Carpenter is cocky. Either way, you have to like his enthusiasm. If the Dolphins block a field goal, while the Dolphins start 2-0, his confidence could drop. For now, Buffalo needs to focus on starting 2-0 to give the Bills’ fans a reason to circle the Buffalo bandwagon.
