Gwen Doughty grades the Buffalo Bills 2016 NFL Draft. Does Buffalo have a bright future after drafting Shaq Lawson with the ninteenth pick in the 2016 NFL Draft?
19. Shaq Lawson, LE, Clemson A+ Grade
It won't matter if the Bills run a 4-3 or a 3-4 defense. Shaq Lawson can start at 4-3 left end where Mario Williams was. The Bills can also use Lawson as a 3-4 left outside linebacker. Either way Buffalo addressed a critical need by taking a pass rusher here.
41. Reggie Ragland, LOLB, Alabama A+ Grade
Reggie Ragland can start right away. He can play 4-3 left outside linebacker or 3-4 middle linebacker. Regardless of which defensive scheme, the Bills run they are getting an immediate starter and tackling machine in Reggie Ragland.
80. Adolphus Washington, DT, Ohio State B+ Grade
Adolphus Washington gets to start out as a backup to Kyle Williams at 4-3 defensive tackle. Over time he can take his spot. Washington is also versatile enough to start at 3-4 right end on 3-4 plays which is why this pick got a B+ grade.
139. Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State B Grade
Cardale Jones is a third stringer right now. He has enough raw talent to challenge E.J. Manuel for the backup job despite being a project. I'm giving this a B grade.
156. Jonathan Williams, RB, Arkansas B- Grade
With Karlos Williams being suspended the first four games, Jonathan Williams is now the backup to LeSean McCoy. I think Williams is a backup at best and Buffalo must feel that way too since they are looking at Reggie Bush as a fill in player to Karlos Williams during his suspension.
192. Kolby Listenbee, WR, TCU C Grade
Kolby Listenbee is the #6 receiver on the Bills depth chart. I'm giving this pick a C grade right now, but this will be a C+ grade if Listenbee can manage to get a starting spot on special teams.
218. Kevon Seymour, CB, USC F Grade
Kevon Seymour is the #8 cornerback on Buffalo's depth chart. I'm giving this pick an F grade.
Buffalo Bills Team Grade: A Grade
I didn't like the Bills last two picks. I can look past that though as Buffalo got two starters, two backups, and a possible third backup in Jonathan Williams with their first five picks. This was a great draft by the Buffalo Bills.
