Chris Ransom grades the Indianapolis Colts 2015 NFL Draft. Does Indianapolis have a bright future after taking Phillip Dorsett twenty-ninth overall?
29. Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami FL A- Grade
Ty Hilton and Andre Johnson are the starting receivers as expected. Philip Dorsett is listed as a slot receiver over Donte Moncrief at the moment so this looks like a good pick for the time being.
65. D'Joun Smith, CB, Florida Atlantic B Grade
D'Joun Smith is doing better than you would think. Smith is listed as the nickel cornerback on the Colts' depth chart.
93. Henry Anderson, 3-4 LE, Stanford A+ Grade
Pro Football Focus believed Henry Anderson was the player with more long term potential than anyone in the entire NFL Draft. Anderson received the highest grade Pro Football Focus's NFL Draft special on NBC Sports Network. Getting Anderson is an awesome way to make up for the loss of Cory Redding.
109. Clayton Geathers, SS, Central Florida A+ Grade
The Colts needed a second safety. Clayton Geathers provides tremendous value at this spot.
151. David Parry, NT, Stanford A Grade
David Parry has incredible versatility. He can play anywhere in a 3-4 defense whether it's 3-4 right end, 3-4 nose tackle, or 3-4 left end. Parry has that plug in and play ability that you crave as a scout.
205. Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State B Grade
Josh Robinson was a solid value pick here. The irony is that Robinson will be a backup to his predecessor Vick Ballard who is the third string running back behind Frank Gore and Daniel "Boom" Herron.
207. Amarlo Herrera, 3-4 MLB, Georgia A Grade
Amarlo Herrera. Herrera had more tackles at Georgia than Ramik Wilson. Herrera gives the Colts depth as a 3-4 middle linebacker.
255. Denzelle Good, LT, Mars Hill C- Grade
Denzelle Good is the Colts backup left tackle. Anthony Costanzo is in a contract year at left tackle which is why the Colts selected Good.
Indianapolis Colts Team Grade: B Grade
Indianapolis had a solid draft. They addressed a lot of their key needs even though they reached for some players. I think the Colts can win it all with the final additions they made in this years draft.
