2015 NFL Mock Draft: 7 Rounds

Round 1 Picks 1-16

Leonard Williams is the best player in the 2015 NFL Draft. Where will Williams go?

Posted By Jesse Lucas Last Updated: April 21, 2015.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State

You would have to look hard in order to find a College athlete in the last couple years that has had as much controversy around them as Winston. But you’ll need to look even harder to find one with as much potential. Buccaneers snag their Franchise QB with the first overall pick.

  2. Tennessee Titans: Leonard Williams, DE, USC

The Titans need a lot of help this off season. Rather than going QB I think they are going to give Mettenberger one last chance by taking the best players available to help him win. The Titans can either draft Leonard Williams or try to deal this pick to San Diego for Phillip Rivers. Williams goes second here.

Previous Pick: La’El Collins, G, LSU

  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dante Fowler, DE, Florida

The Jaguars offense is starting to come together nicely. The defense on the other hand still needs a lot of work. Fowler should be able to plug in as a starter from day 1.

Previous Pick: Leonard Williams, DE, USC

  4. Oakland Raiders: Kevin White, WR, West Virginia

The Raiders seemed to have found their QB of the future and their offense is looking better. Imagine how good Carr could be if you paired Kevin White up with the newly signed Michael Crabtree at wide receiver.

Previous Pick: Danny Shelton, DT, Washington

  5. Washington Redskins: Shane Ray, OLB, Missouri

The Redskins need help in almost every position on the field. But they grab pass rusher Shane Ray at 5.

Previous Pick: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa

  6. New York Jets: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

The Jets have a lot of building to do on the offensive side of the ball. Marcus Mariota is the best fit for the Jets at 6. I also heavily considered Amari Cooper here. When you have Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick as the top 2 quarterbacks on your depth chart, you have to draft someone to unseat them.

Previous Pick: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

  7. Chicago Bears: Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

Amari Cooper fills the void Brandon Marshall left at wide receiver. Chicago cannot pass on White or Cooper if either slides to 7.

Previous Pick: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

  8. Atlanta Falcons: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa

The Falcons need a lot of help on the offensive line. They improve it here by adding Brandon Scherff out of Iowa who can play left tackle with Jake Matthews moving over to the right tackle position he played at Texas A&M.

Previous Pick: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

  9. New York Giants: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

The Giants were a team that was kind of just ok at their best positions and really bad at their worst. I think if Mariota or Winston were left they would snatch them up and send Eli packing, but since they aren’t they’ll build up the O-line instead.

Previous Pick: Ereck Flowers, OT, Miami FL

  10. St. Louis Rams: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh

Now that the Rams got Nick Foles, they will likely address the offensive line. T.J. Clemmings is the top offensive tackle left, and he makes a lot of sense here.

Previous Pick: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

  11. Minnesota Vikings: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

You may have heard in the off-season about some guy named Adrian Peterson who got into a little trouble over child abuse. Ya I think he is done as a Viking. Minnesota may not know it yet but they’ll take Melvin Gordon as a safety net just in case.

  12. Cleveland Browns: Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson

The Browns have a plethora of picks in the first three rounds. Assuming Johnny Manziel comes out of rehab good to go they’ll focus on defense here.

Previous Pick: Shane Ray, OLB, Missouri

  13. New Orleans Saints: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota

The Saints need a tight end now that Jimmy Graham is gone. There is no guarantee that the Saints will get Maxx Williams at 31 with so many teams in the market for a tight end.

Previous Pick: Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan State

  14. Miami Dolphins: Landon Collins, S, Alabama

The Dolphins are going to look to add some skill to their defensive secondary. They play the pass happy Patriots twice a year in what are always very important games with huge playoff implications.

  15. San Francisco 49ers: Eric Kendricks, MLB, UCLA

The 49ers linebacker core was really good. Without Patrick Willis or Chris Borland a new middle linebacker next to Navarro Bowman is needed.

Previous Pick: Randy Gregory, OLB, Nebraska

  16. Houston Texans: Cody Prewitt, S, Ole Miss

The Texans need a strong safety. With Landon Collins gone, the Texans take Cody Prewitt with the sixteenth pick.

Previous Pick: Vic Beasley, OLB, Clemson
