Baltimore Ravens 1-1-0
Cincinnati Bengals 2-0-0

Game Recap: CINCINNATI-Baltimore headed to Cincinnati. Whoever won this game would cease control of first place in the AFC North.

Geno Atkins sacked Joe Flacco on third down. That caused Baltimore to punt the football to Cincinnati on their opening drive.

Cincinnati couldn't capitalize on their first drive. Jessie Bates III anticipated where Joe Flacco would throw the football on his second drive and intercepted Flacco.

To make matters worse for the Ravens, C.J. Mosley got carted off with an injury in his left knee. Mosley is the Ravens best 3-4 middle linebacker so losing him after losing Jimmy Smith is a huge blow to the defense.

Bill Lazor called an excellent play. A.J. Green does A.J. Green things and gets separation on Tavon Young. Cincinnati strikes first to take a 7-0 lead over the Baltimore Ravens.

Joe Flacco fired a 15-yard dart to Michael Crabtree. Dre Kirkpatrick lined up at field cornerback and stopped Crabtree with outstanding coverage on a critical third down. Cincinnati disabled Flacco by making all the critical defensive stops early in the first quarter.

Andy Dalton threw another passing touchdown to A.J. Green. Cincinnati otok a 14-0 lead.

Sam Hubbard came in for an injured Michael Johnson. Hubbard and Geno Atkins double teammed Joe Flacco for another third down stop.

Tyler Boyd carved Tony Jefferson in coverage. That resulted in another first down for Cincinnati. Andy Dalton goes back to Tyler Boyd. Cordy Glenn continues his fantastic blocking at left tackle his pass protection and run blocking continues to be superb.

Billy Price got injured again on a running play after demonstrating superb run blocking. Andy Dalton threw a completion to Tyler Kroft for a first down.

Andy Dalton threw a pass to Tyler Eifert. The pass was dropped though. The first quarter ended with John Ross being tackled for a loss by a boss on the Ravens. cincinnati led 14-0 after one quarter, and the Bengals played about as perfect of a first quarter that you can play until Price got injured. Even after Price's injury they still moved the chains.

Just when you think Baltimore is going to get a defensive stop, Terrell Suggs gets an illegal use of hands penalty. This penalty allows Cincinnati to extend their drive.

Andy Dalton threw another touchdown pass to A.J. Green. Cincinnati took a 21-0 lead.

Joe Flacco threw a third down conversion to John Brown. That helped the Ravens get a first down after Brown got by double coverage. Buck Allen ran it in for a touchdown. That gave Baltimore their first score of the game.

Kenny Young had a tackle for a loss on Baltimore's next drive to help the Ravens defense as a 2018 fourth round pick. Andy Dalton kept firing first downs to all three of his tight ends. Dalton threw a touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd.

Cincinnati took a 28-7 lead. Baltimore got stopped on fourth down. Cincinnati has made every defensive stop when its mattered. That's one reason why the Bengals have made this a one-sided game in addition to offensive execution.

Andy Dalton threw three incomplete passes in a row. Why in the hell are the Bengals throwing it when they lead 28-7? I have a legit reason to ask that Bill Lazor.

Dre Kirkpatrick nearly intercepted Joe Flacco. Flacco is lucky that Kirkpatrick didn't pick him off. Not only has Kirkpatrick demonstrated superior man coverage tonight like he did before his contract extension, Kirkpatrick also had a deflection from a pass breakup.

Joe Flacco executed an awesome two minute drive. He threw another completion to Crabtree and then finished off the drive with a touchdown pass to Mark Andrews which was the first career touchdown in Mark Andrews career. Cincinnati led 28-14 at halftime.

Baltimore got a field goal to make it 28-17. Cincinnati was 0/5 on their last five third down conversions. The Bengals inability to convert on third down in the third quarter kept Baltimore in the game. The Bengals' defensive stops throughout this game were what allowed them to maintain such a big lead.

Baltimore got a touchdown when Joe Flacco threw it too John Brown. Baltimore made it 28-23 to pull it within five points.

Cincinnati ate up six minutes and thirty six seconds of clock. Thanks to a Tavon Young penalty, tbey got a field goal to make it a 31-23 game.

Baltimore fumbled the ball. Shatn Williams recovered a fumble. Williams has asserted himself as one of the leagues better safeties and even got promoted to team captain this year despite the fact that I thought he wasn't all that. Williams did a great job making me look foolish for doubting his ability to deliver for the Bengals.

Cincinnati kicked another field goal. They took a 34-23 lead on the Baltimore Ravens.

Joe Flacco threw a fourth down conversion to Mark Andrews after the two minute warning. That bought some time for the Baltimore Ravens. It didn't matter as Cincinnati won 34-23.

A.J. Green's three receiving touchdowns in the first half were instrumental in Cincinnati's win. Andy Dalton went 24/42 with 265 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions.

On defense free Shawn Williams stepped up at safety. Williams lined up at both strong safety and free safety throughout the contest. Shawn Williams had 6 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 8 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 deflection from a pass breakup. Williams tormented Joe Flacco in a variety of ways while other players like field cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, rookie strong safety Jessie Bates III, and boundary cornerback William Jackson III all stepped up. Darqueze Dennard was really the only weak link on the secondary tonight as Cincinnati's defensive backs put together a very strong performance tonight.

Great job by the Cincinnati Bengals getting off to a 2-0 start. I think they can keep building momentum in Carolina when week 3 begins when you consider all the injuries the Panthers endured. Baltimore has a much tougher offensive line then Carolina even tougher then the Colts, yet Cincinnati's defensive line stepped up once again.
