2015 Senior Bowl Invite List

Posted By Chris Ransom on 1/18/2015

Before we start, I plan on posting links to both rosters for the North Team coached by Ken Whisenhunt and the Titans staff and the South Team coached by Gus Bradley and the Jaguars staff.

Usually we see 3 quarterbacks on the North and South teams. This year is a rare exception where we have 2 quarterbacks on the North Team and 4 on the South Team. What is even more bizarre is that Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty is playing on the North Team and Colorado State's Garrett Grayson is playing on the South Team.

The same craziness occurs at the running back position with 3 running backs on the North Team and 2 running backs on the South Team with 2 fullbacks on the South Team as well.

Both teams have seven receivers. Ty Montgomery out of Stanford will lead the North Team. Sammie Coates will lead the South Team. Neither team has a #2 receiver that could go in the top 100 which is why it is crucial for both teams to get good play at quarterback.

Both teams also have solid tight end play. Ben Koyack of Notre Dame will start for the North team with Nick O Leary starting for the South Team.

Rashad Greene was supposed to play with Sammie Coates, but he withdrew from the Senior Bowl. Left tackle Cameron Erving and left guard Josiah Matias both withdrew from the Senior Bowl as well.

The South Team offensive line will look like this. La'El Collins will play left tackle, Arie Kouandjio will play left guard, Reese Dismukes will play center, Tre Jackson will play right guard, and Austin Shepard will play right tackle. Tyler Sambraillo, the Colorado State left tackle might play left tackle, so we could see Collins move over to left guard which is where I project him to play at the next level. Do not be surprised if the South team tries Collins at right tackle either.

The South Team should do better in pass blocking with that lineup. The North Team may win the run blocking battle with Laken Tomlinson at right guard and T.J. Clemmings at right tackle.

The North Team has a strong defensive line. Hau'oli Kikaha and Danny Shelton were teammates at Washington. They will be playing with Utah defensive end Nate Orchard. Mike Manock believes Shelton, the Washington nose tackle could blossom into a top 10 pick.

The South Team may not have the defensive line that the North team has. The South Team has a better secondary and linebacking core than the North team. Denzel Perryman will line up at middle linebacker for the South Team.

This week should be a good Senior Bowl week. We will let you know what happens on Monday when Day 1 arrives for these players.
