Joe Pavelski got things going early with the first goal of game 7 as well as an assist to Tomas Hertl. Mikko Rantanen made this a one-goal game heading into the second period with San Jose up 2-1.
Colorado tied it, but a no goal call reversed a goal. San Jose Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer, who was 3-0 in game 7's prior to tonight challenged a goal. The call got reversed and the goal honestly looked like a clean goal at first.
Then San Jose took a 3-1 lead thanks to a wrist shot by Joonas Donskoi. San Jose led 3-1 after two periods.
Coloraod was able to get a goal. Thanks to Gabriel Landeskog stepping over the blue line and Colorado having a sixth man on the ice, the goal got overturned. San Jose won thanks to the challenge by Peter DeBoer.
We are finally down to 4 teams after a brutal cold kept me from writing NHL aritlces for two weeks. In the Eastern Conference, its the Boston Bruins versus the Carolina Hurricanes. In the Western Conference, it's a rematch of the 2016 Western Conference Finals between the San Jose Sharks and the St. Louis Blues.
