Round 1 Picks 1-16

Find out where these coveted prospects go in my brand new mock draft!

  1. Tennessee Titans: Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss

Tennessee needs to maximize their ability up front in the trenches. The 6-5 305 lb Laremy Tunsil gives the Titans the flexibility to upgrade every position on the offensive line as well as a blue chip left tackle for quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Drafting Tunsil allows you to move your current left tackle Taylor Lewan over to right tackle to serve as bookend to Tunsil two years after being the Titans 2014 first round draft pick. You can also move right guard Chance Warmack your 2013 first round pick over to left guard and third round pick Jeremiah Poutasi inside from right tackle to right guard while Andy Gallik compliments these guards inside at center.

An offensive line with Laremy Tunsil at left tackle, Chance Warmack at left guard, Andy Gallik at center, Jeremiah Poutasi at right guard, and Taylor Lewan at right tackle is exactly what Marcus Mariota needs up front in the trenches in order to maximize his pass protection. Now all that's left is to find a running back that can compliment Mariota and this offensive line along with a head coach that can get the best out of this squad.

  2. Cleveland Browns: Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

I considered Ramsey at this pick. I am going with Carson Wentz though with this selection though because the Browns need a quarterback, and they seem to be more sold on Carson Wentz rather than Jared Goff.

Previous Pick: Jared Goff, QB, California

  3. San Diego Chargers: Jalen Ramsey, SS, Florida State

San Diego needs upgrades at both strong safety and free safety. Many consider Jalen Ramsey to be the top pick in the draft and with the Titans and Browns both needing safeties considering Ramsey, San DIego cannot pass on him at 3.

Previous Pick: Joey Bosa, RE, Ohio State

  4. Dallas Cowboys: Joey Bosa, RE, Ohio State

Dallas will take Joey Bosa if he's there. Bosa fills an immediate need at 4-3 right end.

Previous Pick: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Myles Jack, LOLB, UCLA

Jacksonville needs a left outside linebacker. Myles Jack fills a need and is the best player available with Dante Fowler now being used as a 4-3 right end at the LEO.

Previous Pick: Jalen Ramsey, SS, Florida State

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

Baltimore has Vernon Hargreaves III as their second best overall player on their board. Their director of College Scouting and Southeast Scout are both sold on Hargreaves even going as far as comparing him to Revis. With both of them sold on Hargreaves, that may convince Ozzie Newsome to take Hargreaves here. With Daryl Smith gone, I would not rule out Reggie Ragland, but I think they go with Hargreaves. Baltimore needs to move Jimmy Smith to boundary cornerback and Ladarius Webb to the nickel.

  7. San Francisco 49ers: Jared Goff, QB, California

It looks like the 49ers will trade Kaepernick. I cannot see the 49ers passing on another California Golden Bear after missing out on Aaron Rodgers.

Previous Pick: Myles Jack, LOLB, UCLA

  8. Philadelphia Eagles: Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

The Eagles need a replacement to DeMarco Murray. Ezekiel Elliott is a special running back and makes total sense here at 8 for Philadelphia thanks to their trade with the Miami Dolphins which sent the 13th pick to Miami along with Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell.

Previous Pick: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State

  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Emmanuel Ogbah, RE, Oklahoma State

Tampa Bay would have a top 10 NFL defense if Emmanuel Ogbah and Jacqueis Smith paired up in Tampa Bay because Ogbah had 13 sacks for Oklahoma State in 2015. If Donovan Smith can improve as a pass blocker in year 2, then this Buccaneers team could make the 2017 NFL Playoffs if everyone stayed healthy.

  10. New York Giants: Ronnie Stanley, LT, Notre Dame

The Giants addressed most of their needs in Free Agency. The Giants can draft Ronnie Stanley and move Ereck Flowers over to right tackle.

Previous Pick: A'Shawn Robinson, 3-4 RE, Alabama

  11. Chicago Bears: A'Shawn Robinson, 3-4 RE, Alabama

The Chicago Bears need some upgrades on their 3-4 defensive line. Eddie Goldman is coming off an injury at nose tackle and Robinson could also move to 3-4 right end where he played at Alabama to replace Will Sutton who had 0 sacks in 2015.

Previous Pick: Reggie Ragland, MLB, Alabama

  12. New Orleans Saints: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

The New Orleans Saints need a wide receiver. Laquon Treadwell is a big physical target that can stretch the field.

Previous Pick: DeForest Buckner, LE, Oregon

  13. Miami Dolphins: DeForest Buckner, LE, Oregon

Miami uses this pick on a left end across from Mario Williams. Cameron Wake won't be back with Miami in 2017 and some argue Wake is overpaid plus Buckner can be what Dion Jordan was supposed to be coming out of Oregon.

Previous Pick: Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

  14. Oakland Raiders: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State

Oakland brought in Sean Smith, but he's a #2 corner. He struggled without Vontae Davis and Brandon Flowers. He should continue to struggle without a #1 corner next to him. I believe Eli Apple has #1 corner ability and having David Amerson move to the nickel where he dominated in Washington as a rookie would help him out.

Previous Pick: Leonard Floyd, RE, Georgia/u>

  15. Los Angeles Rams: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

The St. Louis Rams have relocated to Los Angeles. They can use this pick to get a new quarterback in Paxton Lynch that may be an upgrade over Nick Foles.

  16. Detroit Lions: Reggie Ragland, MLB, Alabama

Detroit never replaced Stephen Tulloch. Reggie Ragland makes a ton of sense at 16 because he's the top linebacker in the draft after Myles Jack and the top middle linebacker if you consider Jack an outside linebacker.

Previous Pick: Ronnie Stanley, LT, Notre Dame
