Kansas City Royals Pitch Shutout In Game 1 Of 2015 ALCS
Posted By: Emily Rosario on 10/17/2015
Kansas City's 5-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays was mainly due to their pitching. Starting pitcher Edinson Volquez pitched six scoreless innings before the bullpen featuring middle reliever Kevin Herrera, long reliever Ryan Madison, and middle reliever Luke Hochevar came in to pitch one scoreless inning each after Volquez dominated on the mound.
The Royals have quality bats at each position. The bottom line is that when their pitching pitches like they did in game 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays, no team in the entire MLB can take on the Royals in Kaufmann and expect a victory.
Game 2 of the 2015 ALCS will be later today after an intense Friday Night game. Toronto has to score early or there is a good chance the Royals will make a second consecutive World Series as AL Champs in 2015 because I don't see Toronto coming back down 2-0 against the Royals like they did against the Texas Rangers.
