Tampa Bay Lightning Advance To 2016 Eastern Conference Finals

Tampa Bay got outshot 28-25 today. Despite this the Lightning prevailed 4-0 in a great defensive effort limiting the Islanders to under 30 shots on goal.


Victor Hedman was the star of this game. Hedman scored 2 goals in the first period of game 5 today. Tampa Bay had 9 blocked shots today. Five of those nine blocked shots came from the defense. Three of Tampa Bay's five blocked shots on defense came from Victor Hedman.


The Victor Hedman and Braydon Coburn defensive tandem was so effective today. That tandem propelled the Tampa Bay Lightning into the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals.


Tampa Bay reached the Eastern Conference Finals for the second year in a row. The Lightning deserve credit for getting this far once again. Tampa Bay will have a much tougher test against the Washington Capitals or the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals
