Bradley Zimmer May Make Cleveland Indians Batting Lineup In 2017

Bradley Zimmer, the younger brother of 2012 first round pick Kyle Zimmer may be ready for Cleveland in 2017 after being drafted twenty first overall in the 2014 MLB Draft. Zimmer was on the Akron RubberDucks in 2016 until Clint Frazier got traded to the New York Yankees for middle reliever Andrew Miller.

Zimmer could have kept developing in AA. Cleveland needed one more middle reliever for depth though and they got their man in Miller despite giving up Frazier. Zimmer got promoted as a result.

Zimmer was a guy I was extremely high on heading into the season. I thought he would be key for the Akron RubberDucks and he was one of the biggest reasons they won early. He was a bigger reason Columbus did well down the stretch in AAA. Zimmer's play was one of the biggest reasons why Columbus won the West Division in AAA for the second year in a row.

Zimmer has the power bat to hit home runs, precision to hit line drives, the speed to hit a grounder, he can bunt. He does it all as a bat. Like Kyle, Bradley has a cannon for an arm and can force easy outs. He also has excellent fielding along with the versatility to play left fielder, center fielder, or right fielder.

Bradley Zimmer has the makings to be a pretty complete outfielder in 2017. He may have to wait a while for his chance to shine in Cleveland, but the wait will pay off if Zimmer remains patient.
