Chris Ransom grades the Baltimore Ravens 2015 NFL Draft. Does Baltimore have a bright future after drafting Breshad Perriman with the twenty-sixth pick in the 2015 NFL Draft?
26. Breshad Perriman, WR, Central Florida A+ Grade
Breshad Perriman should have been a top 20 pick. You could make the same case for Jaelen Strong. The fact that one of those guys fell to the Ravens after the Browns passed on a wide receiver at 19 speaks volumes for how incredible Ozzie Newsome is at keeping his cool by waiting for the best player to drop to his pick at 26. Brilliant job Baltimore.
59. Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota A+ Grade
Baltimore got a huge steal with Maxx Williams. Williams was the top tight end in this draft. The Minnesota tight end is very complete on tape. Some thought Williams would go in the first round. Easily an A+ grade.
90. Carl Davis, NT, Iowa B Grade
Carl Davis was a 4-3 defensive tackle, but he has the size of a 3-4 nose tackle so this was a solid pick.
122. Z'Darius Smith, 3-4 ROLB, Kentucky B+ Grade
Z'Darius Smith has no experience ina 3-4 defense. Still, I like him better than his teammate Alvin Dupree. The reason I feel that way is because Smith was the one getting by the left tackles on Kentucky's pass rush in 2014.
125. Javorius Allen, RB, USC A Grade
Baltimore needed a running back for depth behind Justin Forsett with this pick. I like the Allen selection at this spot.
136. Tray Walker, CB, Texas Southern D Grade
Taking Tray Walker was a horrible selection. The Ravens needed another cornerback for depth which is why Baltimore avoided an F grade.
171. Nick Boyle, TE, Delaware A+ Grade
Baltimore goes with Nick Boyle at tight end. Nick Boyle will make an awesome #2 tight end in Baltimore. Having a former Blue Hen like Joe Flacco firing him the ball will motivate Boyle to work hard.
176. Robert Meyers, RG, Tennessee State A+ Grade
Both left guard Kelechi Osmele and right guard Marshall Yanda enter contract years. Robert Meyers played right guard at Tennessee State and provides good depth as a backup right guard along with excellent value.
204. Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech A+ Grade
Darren Waller can start right away as a slot receiver. When Steve Smith retires Waller will start across from Perriman with his 6-6 238 lb frame.
Baltimore Team Grade: A+ Grade
This was another awesome draft for the Ravens. In Baltimore it was another typical day in the office for General Manager Ozzie Newsome who continues to be aces on draft day.
