Senior Bowl 2022 Senior Bowl: National Team: Will be coached by New York Jets and South Team: Will be coached by Detroit Lions.

2022 Senior Bowl: Day 2 Recap

Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Posted on: 2/2/2022.

Jermaine Johnson II the Florida State defensive end was my player of the day. He dominated outperforming every player on both the National Team and the American Team.

Kenny Pickett seemed to have more success in day 2 in the rain. Carson Strong had trouble throwing accurate passes in the rain, but he threw the deep ball effectively.

Central Michigan left tackle Bernard Raimann struggled against an edge rusher for the second day in a row. He entered the Senior Bowl as my number two player behind Treovr Penning, but it's safe to say Jeremiah Johnson has that distinction wrapped up.

Colorado State tight end Trey McBride had another strong day for the American Team. McBride cemented his status as a a day 2 pick on Tuesday. He's now cemented his status as a second round prospect.

One more offensive lineman that stood out for the National Team was Boston College left guard Zion Johnson. Johnson showcased the versatility to play offensive tackle, guard, or center. This wasn't something I saw from Johnson on film and I was a huge fan of Zion Johnson before this. Zion Johnson stayed late after Practice on Wednesday after a strong practice on Tuesday.

National Team right tackle Abraham Lucas won some one-on-ones against Myjai Sanders. Sanders dominated against everyone else.

Defensive tackles Logan Hall of Houston and Perrion Winfrey of Oklahoma dominated at 4-3 defensive tackle for the National Team.

Jeremiah Johnson II was the one player who stood out for the American Team on Wednesday. Malik Willis threw well in the rain, but he didn't turn any of his weaknesses into strengths and that's something Willis absolutely had to do to earn the right to be the first quarterback drafted.

Florida running back Dameon Pierce had a good wednesday. Pierce is a running back to keep an eye on.

Isaiah Likely was the one bright spot for the American Team offense. Coastal Carolina's tight end looked sharp for the second day in a row.

Jalen Tolbert was one receiver that stood out for the American Team. The other wide receiver that stood out for the American Team was Memphis wide receiver Calvin Austin. These two receivers stepped up for the American Team for teh second day in a row.

DeVonte Wyatt and Phidarian Mathis continue to dominate at 4-3 defensive tackle for the American Team. These two continue to make big plays happen.

One more day of Senior Bowl practice begins on Thursday at 12:30 PM EST for the National Team on ESPN U and the final practice for the American Team is at 3 PM EST on ESPN 2.
