Carolina Hurricanes Forwards Review: Carolina has three very good lines of forwards. They won't have Victor Rask their line two center to begin the season though. Carolina has a very deep team at both center and right wing. One more left winger to compliment the current wingers on the fourth line could be added though.

Carolina was 23rd in goals scored last year and 22nd on the power play in 2017-2018. That was really disappointing for them. I think they can improve in that area and be a top fifteen team in goals scored as well as be a top 20 team on the power play.

Carolina Hurricanes Defensemen Review: Carolina has a very underrated defense. Justin Faulk, Jaccob Slavin, Dougie Hamilton, Calvin De Haan, Brett Pesce, and Haydn Fleury make up three excellent lines of defense. Trading Noah Hanifin and some other players to save cap space was a small price to pay for the Hurricanes.

Carolina's defense will be better than last years defense in 2017-2018. That defense finished 22nd in goals allowed and 24th in penalty killing. Carolina has to improve those numbers in 2018-2019 after losing Cam Ward and downgrading at goalie if they want to contend for a playoff spot.

Carolina Hurricanes Goaltender Review: Carolina downgraded at goalie by getting rid of Cam Ward. Scott Darling underperformed last year and Petr Mrazek is a downgrade over Cam Ward as the backup. I feel like Carolina should have kept Cam Ward.

Carolina Hurricanes Prospect Pool: Carolina has a 2016 first round picks in Jake Bean and Julien Gauthier who are both going to be added to Carolina's prospect pool. Jack Drury, Carolina's 2018 second round pick is an underrated player who could be a future prospect on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Carolina Hurricanes 2018-2019 Prediction

It is a shame that the Carolina Hurricanes are in the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference. If this team were in the Atlantic Division, their playoff odds would be much greater.

Carolina will improve on last season. Its hard so say if it will be enough for Carolina to make a playoff spot. I feel like Carolina has enough talent to get to the opening round. They lack the talent to make it past the first round though. I won't be surprised if they miss the playoffs again though because their goalie situation is awful.
