Detroit has an effective starting 5 in 2015? I think I said the same thing last season and look how that turned out. Small forward Josh Smith left the team and in the 2015 NBA Offseason the Pistons traded power forward Greg Monroe

Point guard Brandon Jennings scored 15.5 points per game in 2014-2015. Jennings recorded 15.4 point per game in 2014-2015. Reggie Jackson averaged 14.5 points per game and he's starting at point guard. That helps with depth at point guard, but starting Jackson over Jennings just as easily sabotages the team chemistry.

Shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope averaged 12.7 points per game. He's now starting over Jodie Meeks who averaged 11 points per game as a part time starter with the Pistons.

Detroit lost their forwards at the 3 and the 4. Drafting Stanley Johnson eighth overall out of Arizona solves your problem at the 3 that the Pistons had for much of last season. Ersan Ilyasova averaged 11.5 points per game. Still he feels like a huge downgrade compared to Greg Monroe.

Andre Drummond improved once again. The 7-0 280 lb center had 13.5 points per game and 13.2 rebounds per game in 2013-2014. He improved on that with 13.8 points per game and 13.5 rebounds per game. Drummond is 21-years-old right now and will be 22 in 2 days on August 10, 2015. This could be the year Drummond matures and finally shows teams a guy that gets 21 points per game and 15 rebounds per game. If Drummond blossoms into that player, the Pistons will be a playoff team.

The best defensive players are the Pistons front court duo featuring power forward Greg Monroe and center Andre Drummond. This front court can prevent scoring chances while getting easy buckets while penetrating opposing defenses.
