Draft Order NFL: The Green Bay Packers have two first round picks in 2019.

Josiah Ray's 2019 NFL Mock Draft: Debut

Round 1 Picks 17-32

Josiah Ray Last Updated: June 12, 2018.

  1. Carolina Panthers: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

Wilkins is a elite player that can wreck games, he was projected to go in the first last year but stayed for his senior year. Carolina bolsters their DL with a hometown kid.

  2. Chicago Bears: Clelin Ferrell, 3-4 ROLB, Clemson

Ferrell is a good pass rusher and also excels vs the run. I love his burst off the line and he has great moves, Chicago has a strong offense already and added Smith to their LB group, now they add Ferrell and hope he can turn their defense back to the good ol days.

  3. San Francisco 49ers: Andreaz "Greedy" Williams, CB, LSU

San Fransisco is getting a lot of hype but I feel it's a year too early. Despite having Sherman and good depth at corner they add Andreaz Williams also nicknamed Greedy Williams to be their CB of the future. I see the 49ers dominanting the league the next decade with Jimmy G. Getting a lock down CB is gonna go a long way with pushing that defense over the edge into elite territory think corner and pass rush is their biggest needs now.

  4. Minnesota Vikings: Beau Benzschwael, RG, Wisconsin

Minesota played above their talent last year and their interior OL is sketchy, adding a stud run blocker is a great move here with most of their skill positions locked down and their defense mostly locked down with starters.

  5. Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

Rivers is closer to the end than people think and still no replacement, if Herbert falls here they would be crazy to pass. He has the size and frame to be a great starter, a live arm and decent accuracy, he has limited experience and injury issues however he can sit behind Rivers for a bit and develop and eventually take over.

  6. Indianapolis Colts: Collin Johnson, WR, Texas

Indy really lacks weapons, while Luck will make them look good he needs help, adding Johnson a 6'6 beast will make Luck a happy man. It will be huge in the redzone with Ebron and him. Johnson can start as their #2 right away behind Hilton, with Cain in the slot this can be a great group.

  7. Green Bay Packers: L.J. Scott, RB, Michigan State

Green bay hasnt had a legit running back since Lacy. Scott is a stud and will be a huge part of opening up the offense for Rodgers and taking pressure off.

  8. New York Giants: Dex Lawrence, DT, Clemson

Lawrence honestly could go top 10 but I like the other guys a little bit more. He's got immense talent and will play next to snacks Harrison giving that NY D a solid pass rush once again.

  9. Atlanta Falcons: Connor McGovern, C, Penn State

Ever since mack joined Atlanta has had a top 10 OL. Mack is getting older so getting McGovern a great run and pass blocker with quick feet and good strength to replace him will keep that group in the top 10.

  10. New England Patriots: Clayton Thorson, QB, Northwestern

Now I think Patterson is a better QB, but Thorson really screams "New England Patriots QB" hes smart and excels at quick reads, he runs a pro style offense and while Brady is still playing good they need a replacement, I don't see any situation where Brady plays 3 years from now. So even if Thorson waits that long he can come in and keep the team stable.

  11. Pittsburgh Steelers: Bennie Snell Jr., RB, Kentucky

Snell is great he reminds me of C.J. Anderson (who would have been great barring injuries). Bell will be getting older by this time and they havent even resigned him yet so he may be his replacement. Or he will complement him and eventually take over.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Montez Sweat, 3-4 ROLB, Mississippi State

Sweat gives GB a replacement to Clay Matthews. He's a athletic LB that can play anywhere, hes great in pass rushing, but also is good in coverage.

  13. Denver Broncos: Raekwon Davis, 3-4 RE, Alabama

Denver goes to defense once again in the 1st. Davis will probably be available around here however I wouldnt be surprised if he went way earlier.

Similiar to Payne how he was projected late 1st-2nd and after his dominant performances in the playoffs went mid 1st. This is a deep class so if everything holds to form he should be available.

Derek Wolfe has faced injuries and declining play lately while hes expected to bounce back, if he doesn't, Davis can slide right in and dominate at DE. And if he does bounce back into the beast he was back in their SB run they still have a gap on the other DE spot with gotsis the presumed starter. He played well, but didnt dominate. Davis makes that DL elite. Miller, chubb, barrett, Wolfe, Davis on one team is a nightmare. This defense will be far superior to the 2015 one.

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Brian Burns, 3-4 ROLB, Florida State

Burns is a speedy LB who can come in and take the role left by Quinn. He's very athletic and a monster in the pass rush, with Suh and Donald wrecking havoc inside look to see him running through gaps and causing lots of pressure.

  15. Jacksonville Jaguars: Shea Patterson, QB, Michigan

Bortles was signed to a 20 mil 2 year deal. While that may show they are committed it's quite the opposite. For now it's his team but I don't see him improving much and he will be carried once again by a monster defense and the best rushing attack in the NFL.

Patterson comes in and can push Bortles for starting reps, he can sit behind him for a year if need be and if he hasnt convinced the Jags that hes the QB of their future they can cut ties and Patterson takes over. I'm expecting Patterson to do very well with Michigan and Harbaugh, but with a deep QB class he falls a bit.

  16. Philadelphia Eagles: Jaylen Smith, WR, Louisville

Smith has the size (6'4) and speed (low 4.3 40 time) to be a monster. He's not as polished as others but was the go to guy for Lamar Jackson. We will see him without Jackson and I expect him to perform well again and even improve. Smith joins philly with a elite offense in place. Jeffery is the clear #1 and agholor likely is the 2, but Smith can push agholor for time and even have him slide into the slot.

The spread RPO system they run often has deep routes come wide open and Smith is very good deep and has amazing speed. He can take Jeffery's job in a year or 2 even.
