Colorado Rockies: Justin Hooper, P, De La Salle HS (CA)
- Colorado continues to look for pieces to build a rotation around. Justin Hooper has a mid 90's fastball, and 75 mile per hour curveball that are both MLB pitches. His changeup is at a AAA level and his slider is at a AA level. Hooper just needs to fine tune his pitching for a few years and he should be ready for the majors.
Atlanta Braves: Dakota Chalmers, P, North Forsyth HS (GA)
- Atlanta adds another pitcher to groom for the future. Dakota Chalmers is one of the fast risers in this years MLB Draft.
Toronto Blue Jays: Beau Borrows, P, Weatherford HS (TX)
- Toronto loves drafting high school pitchers. They add the top one left with this pick.
New York Yankees: Richie Martin, SS, Florida
- Yankees get a shortstop here now that Derek Jeter retired. Richie Martin is the top college bat left.
San Francisco Giants: Cody Ponce, P, Cal Poly Pomona
- The San Francisco Giants usually go for college players over high school players. Pitcher Cody Ponce is the top ace left at this point.
Previous Pick: D.J. Stewart, LF, Florida State
Pittsburgh Pirates: Gio Brusa, RF, Pacific
- One guy the Pirates have scouted extensively is Gio Brusa of the Pacific Tigers. I think the Pirates would take him if he fell in the sandwich round.
Kansas City Royals: James Kaprielian, P, UCLA
- James Kaprilian is the best middle reliever in College Baseball. Kaprielian makes a lot of sense for a Royals tam that could use one or two more middle relievers in their bullpen.
Previous Pick: Frank Vance, 3B, Wooster
Detroit Tigers: Cornelius Randolph, 3B, Griffin HS (GA)
- Detroit takes the best player available. At this point that player is Cornelius Randolph who looks like he will be the first third baseman drafted.
Los Angeles Dodgers: Mitch Hansen, RF, Plano HS (TX)
- Mitch Hansen has the versatility to play anywhere in the outfield. Right field is his best position though and that's a position the Dodgers could use an upgrade at.
Baltimore Orioles: Riley Ferrell, P, TCU
- I gave the Baltimore Orioles Riley Ferrell at 26 in my last MLB Mock Draft back in January. Ferrell is a top 40 pick and is great fit for the Orioles at 36.
Houston Astros: Donny Everett, P, Clarksville HS (TN)
- The Astros go with the best pitcher available. At this point that is Donny Everett out of Clarksville High School in Tennessee.
Colorado Rockies: Chandler Day, P, Watkins HS (OH)
- I really like what Chandler Day has to offer as a pitcher. He makes a lot of sense for a team like the Rockies that is looking for a 4 or a 5 in a rotation.
St. Louis Cardinals: Joe DeMers, P, College Park HS (CA)
- St. Louis could use one more pitcher. Joe DeMers seems like a nice pickup here.
Milwaukee Brewers: Alonzo Jones, 2B, Columbus HS (GA)
- The Brewers may need a bat. Alonzo Jones is the best player on the board right now.
Atlanta Braves: Juan Hillman, P, Olympia HS (FL)
- Olympia High School usually develops one first round pick. At least it has been that way the past few years.
Cleveland Indians: Chris Shaw, 1B, Boston College
- Chris Shaw is a first baseman in the making. Someone needs to draft him and bring him up through the system. Shaw would make an awesome addition to the Akron RubberDucks in AA.
