Minnesota Timberwolves: Tyus Jones, PG, Duke
- Minnesota will finally have a good starting five with Ricky Rubio at point guard, Zach LaVine at shooting guard, Andrew Wiggins at small forward, Karl-Anthony Towns at power forward, along with Nikola Pekovic at center.
- Tyus Jones was born in Minnesota. If Jones slips out of the first round, I guarantee you he will go to Minnesota as a sixth man and a backup to Ricky Rubio.
- This is how the Timberwolves front office operates though. Keep Flip Saunders. Pass on Okafor for Towns. Then get a hometown kid like Tyus Jones in the second round. Minnesota fans deserve better than what this front office provides.
Houston Rockets: Rakeem Christmas, PF, Syracuse
- Houston has the luxury to go best player available. At this point, I think that player is Rakeem Christmas out of Syracuse. Christmas has the versatility to play power forward or center in the NBA.
Previous Pick: Delon Wright, SG, Utah
Boston Celtics: Joseph Young, SG, Oregon
- Joseph Young averaged 20.7 points per game at Oregon. The biggest reason Oregon made the PAC 12 Conference Championship only to lose to Arizona. Young also did a good job ruining my March Madness State when he led Oregon past Oklahoma State in the Round of 64 in this years 2015 March Madness.
- The Celtics have scouted players extensively. One guy they have their eye on early in the second round is Joseph Young. Young is an option for Boston here if the Celtics pass on a shooting guard in the first round.
Los Angeles Lakers: Travis Trice, PG, Michigan State
- I gave the Lakers Duke center Jahlil Okafor and small forward Justin Anderson with their first two picks. Both of those guys can start right away. The Lakers need to add depth to this roster in the second round.
- The Lakers brought in a few second round guys for individual workouts. Some of those guys include Duke shooting guard Quinn Cook, Michigan State small forward Branden Dawson, Virginia Commonwealth shooting guard Treveon Graham, UTEP power forward Vincent Hunter, Michigan State point guard Travis Trice, and Iowa small forward Aaron White.
- Dawson and Tice looked the best out there during the individual workouts. Los Angeles has to take a backup point guard for depth here. Jordan Clarkson stepped up as a backup point guard when Jeremy Lin got injured. Sure Clarkson deserves to start. At the same time, Clarkson may take the point guard job for granted. That's why bringing in a guy like Travis Trice is so vital here.
Philadelphia 76ers: Tyler Harvey, SG, Eastern Washington
- Philadelphia will need a shooting guard at some point. Tyler Harvey is still available in the second round.
- Tyler Harvey led the NCAA with 23.1 points per game in 2014-2015 and had 21.8 points per game in 2013-2014. Damian Lillard led the nation with points per game at Weber State and Steph Curry played at Davidson before becoming the face of the Golden State Warriors. The 76ers take this small school shooting guard hoping they can get a blue chip starter in the second round.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Josh Richardson, SG, Tennessee
- Josh Richardson is a top 50 talent. I think the Minnesota Timberwolves take him for depth here.
Previous Pick: Norman Powell, SG, UCLA
Philadelphia 76ers: Timothe Luwawu, SF, France
- Philadelphia adds a small forward. Timothy Luwawu is a rising prospect to keep an eye on.
Detroit Pistons: Brandon Ashley, PF, Arizona
- Detroit needs a power forward with Greg Monroe in a contract year. Brandon Ashley is one of the top power forwards left.
Charlotte Hornets: Andrew Harrison, PG, Kentucky
- Andrew Harrison can play point guard or shooting guard with his versatility. Charlotte gets him as a depth player. He's matured on the court, but some still perceive him as immature off the court. Despite this, he's more talented than his brother.
Miami Heat: Aaron Harrison, SG, Kentucky
- Miami gets Aaron Harrison. Harrison can play shooting guard or small forward with his versatility. The Heat get Aaron Harrison as a depth player with this pick.
Brooklyn Nets: LaDontae Henton, SF, Providence
- LaDontae Henton is a four year starter who has averaged 13 points per game over 4 seasons at Providence. Might be a good insurance option for a Nets team that could use more depth at small forward.
Utah Jazz: Branden Dawson, SF, Michigan State
- Utah's backup small forward will be a free agent after this season. Time to draft his replacement to back up Gordon Hayward here. The Jazz need to look into adding some like Dawson here.
Indiana Pacers: Quinn Cook, SG, Duke
- Indiana needs a shooting guard. Quinn Cook may not be Dave West or Lance Stephenson. He fills a need here though in the second round.
Phoenix Suns: Olivier Hanlan, PG, Boston College
- Goran Dragic got traded to the Miami Heat before agreeing to a 1-year extension with Miami with him not being a Free Agent until 2016. Olivier Hanlan can play point guard or shooting guard with his versatility making him a perfect fit for Phoenix.
Boston Celtics: George De Paula, PG, Brazil
- George De Paula is a 6-6 point guard. He's someone worth developing overseas for a while. If Marcus Smart cannot stop picking fights with fans then he needs to go after averaging only 7.8 points per game as a rookie.
Milwaukee Bucks: Jordan Mickey, PF, LSU
- Milwaukee takes a power forward here. I think Jordan Mickey would be a good selection at this point.
Previous Pick: Kevon Looney, PF, UCLA
Philadelphia 76ers: Jarrell Martic, PF, LSU
- The 76ers finally address the power forward position. Jarrell Martic is one of the top power forwards left. He can develop on the bench by being a role player until Nerlens Noel flops at power forward once Joel Embiid recovers from his injury.
Previous Pick: Jordan Mickey, PF, LSU
Oklahoma City Thunder: Anthony Brown, SF, Stanford
- The Oklahoma City Thunder just hired former Florida Gators basketball head coach Billy Donovan. If Donovan does poorly in 2015-2016, Kevin Durant might leave because his contract expires after next season. If that's the case why not draft his successor now?
Washington Wizards: Dez Wells, SG, Maryland
- The Washington Wizards get local kid Dez Wells. Maryland's shooting guard is the best available player here.
Atlanta Hawks: Larry Nance Jr., PF, Wyoming
- Atlanta passed on a power forward for Jerian Grant at 15. Now they take Larry Nance Jr. as a depth player to round out the top 50.
Previous Pick: Josh Richardson, SG, Tennessee
Orlando Magic: Michael Frazier, SG, Florida
- Michael Frazier really stepped up down the stretch. Orlando needs a shooting guard for depth and Frazier is the answer.
Dallas Mavericks: Chris Walker, PF, Florida
- Dallas needs a successor to Dirk Nowitzki as well. Chris Walker was once considered a first round prospect before a down year. Maybe the Mavericks gamble on Gainesville's ex power forward.
Cleveland Cavaliers: Treveon Graham, SG, Virginia Commonwealth
- Cleveland needs to find a replacement to Dion Waiters. I'm not sold on Iman Shumpert. Maybe Treveon Graham is that guy.
Previous Pick: Pat Connaughton, SG, Notre Dame
Utah Jazz: Briante Weber, PG, Virginia Commonwealth
- A third point guard might be nice. Having a third stringer behind Trey Burke and Dante Exum is something to consider at this point.
San Antonio Spurs: Darrun Hilliard, SF, Villanova
- Darrun Hilliard makes sense here. Especially if Kawhi Leonard does end up leaving in Free Agency.
New Orleans Pelicans: Mouhammadou Jaiteh, C, France
- New Orleans can take the best player available. One position they need to upgrade is at center. Mouhammadou Jaiteh is the top center on the board late in the second round.
Denver Nuggets: T.J. McConnell, PG, Arizona
- Since the Clippers ended up with the 56th pick this pick went to Denver after the Clippers had 31-50 protected and 51-55 for the Lakers protected.
- T.J. McConnell is the best point guard left. Denver drafts him here late in the second round.
Philadelphia 76ers: Alan Williams, C, U.C. Santa Barbara
- Philadelphia has to draft a center. Alan Williams posted 17.6 points per game and 12.l rebounds per game in 2014-2015.
Atlanta Hawks: Aaron White, SF, Iowa
- Atlanta goes with the best player available. At this point, that player has to be Aaron White.
Philadelphia 76ers: D.J. Newbill, SG, Penn State
- D.J. Newbill averaged 20.7 points per game at Penn State. Newbill is the best player left and he makes a perfect depth player at shooting guard for the 76ers.
