2022 NHL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds
Round 6
Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: July 7, 2022.
Montreal Canadiens: Zach Filak, C, Sarnia Sting (OHL)
- The 6-2 185 lb Zach Filak only had 10 goals, 12 assists, 22 points, and a -15 +/- ratio in 62 OHL regular season games during his rookie season. He also had 3 assists in 6 games during the 2022 OHL Playoffs. I had a third round grade on Zach Filak back in October and went for value over need for the Montreal Canadiens with this sixth round pick.
- Montreal already has Shane Wright, Nick Suzuki, Jack D. Hughes who I mocked at 26, the son of Kent Hughes ready for the 2025-2026 NHL Season, and Wright's teammate in Kingston Paul Ludwinski who I mocked at 75 as another guy who could be ready by 2025 when Montreal's third and fourth line centers become unrestricted Free Agents. It's going to be very difficult for Filak to crack an NHL roster spot at center on Montreal with Shane Wright as an untouchable assuming he goes first overall and Nick Suzuki under contract until 2030.
- Zach Filak is someone who could be a very good player on the Laval Rocket in the AHL once he finishes developing with the Sarnia Sting in the OHL. He's probably an AHL player at best with Montreal's center situation unless Montreal drafts him, but opts not to sign him which is also a possibility.
Arizona Coyotes: Otto Stahre, C, Frolunda Indians (Elitserien)
- The 5-11 176 lb Otto Stahre had 3 assists last season on the Frolunda Indians Under 18 Team. He's a first line center on the Frolunda Indians Under 18 Team. He had 1 goal, 2 assists, and 3 points when getting promoted to the Frolunda Indians Under 20 Team.
- Otto Stahre was a player I had a third round grade on back in October. He's most likely an AHL player. However, the only centers Arizona got in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft were Logan Cooley, Owen Beck, and David Goyette.
- If Arizona fails to land Connor Bedard or another premium center in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, or if Arizona fails to land Arizona native Auston Matthews during the 2024 NHL Free Agency period, then an opportunity could open up for Otto Stahre as a fourth line center on Arizona in the NHL. Right now, Arizona drafts this long-term project hoping he's good enough to sign to a contract drafting Otto Stahre strictly based on potential in the sixth round.
Seattle Kraken: Santeri Sulku, C, Jokerit (KHL)
- The 6-3 187 lb Santeri Sulku is versatile enough to play left wing, center, or right wing. Santeri Sulku hasn't made the jump to the KHL yet as he's on Jokerit's Under 20 Team in Finland as a first line center instead of being on Jokerit's main roster in the KHL which Jokerit isn't going to be a part of moving forward.
- Santeri Sulku had 13 goals, 19 assists, and 32 points on Jokerit's Under 20 Team as a first line center in 2021-2022. He's also someone I had a third round grade on back in October.
Philadelphia Flyers: Grayden Siepmann, D, Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
- The 5-11 185 lb Grayden Sipemann is a player who Future Considerations had ranked as their final third round player in their top 100. He was also drafted thirteenth overall in the 2019 WHL Draft.
- Calgary gets another defender who can hit hard without hitting so hard that they put bounties on players and get sent to the penalty box. Siepmann is just as good as any defender in this class. That's what I said about Grayden Siepmann in the 2019 WHL Draft.
- Grayden Siepmann only had 2 assists and a +4 +/- ratio in 21 games as a rookie in 2020-2021. Grayden Siepmann led the Calgary Hitmen defensemen with goals and points with 9 goals, 16 assists, and 25 points as a second year player on the Calgary Hitmen in 2021-2022.
New Jersey Devils: Leo Hafenrichter, D, Guelph Storm (OHL)
- The 6-0 172 lb Leo Hafenrichter played 2 games against men in Germany in DEL in 2020-2021. Now he'll be able to take that experience and bring it to the CHL after the Guelph Storm drafted him in the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
- Leo Hafenrichter 2 assists and a -3 +/- ratio in 12 regular season games with the Guelph Storm in the OHL. I had a third round grade on Leo Hafenrichter back in October making him a nice value pick in the sixth round.
Chicago Blackhawks: Hannes Hellberg, RW, Leksands IF (Elitserien)
- The 6-1 183 lb Hannes Hellberg had 7 goals, 15 assists, and 22 points in 14 games with Leksands IF Under 18-Team. He had 6 goals in 8 games n the Leksands IF Under 20 Team. Hannes Hellberg was a player that I had a third round grade on back in October.
Ottawa Senators: Kais Faure-Brac, C, Briancon Diables Rouges (Ligue Magnus)
- The 6-2 187 lb Kais Faure-Brac is the top prospect from France in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Kais Faure-Brac is versatile enough to play left wing, center, or right wing. His versatility is the biggest reason I had a late third round pick on him in October. He only had 1 assist in France, but Ottawa can gamble on him in the sixth round.
Tampa Bay Lightning: Isac Born, RW, Frolunda Indians (Elitserien)
- The 6-0 170 lb Isac Born is versatile enough to play left wing, center, or right wing with his versatility. His best position is right wing. Born had 4 goals, 9 assists, and 13 points in 35 games with the Frolunda Indians Under 20-Team and was a player I had a third round grade on back in October. This is an amazing value pick for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round.
Buffalo Sabres: Elton Moller, RW, Malmo Redhawks (Elitserien)
- The 5-10 161 lb Elton Moller is a player to keep an eye on if you follow the Malmo Redhawks. I had a third round grade on him in October, but he failed to transition from the Malmo Redhawks Under 18 Team to the Malmo Redhawks Under 20 Team. He's a project player that Buffalo can gamble on in the sixth round.
Carolina Hurricanes: Trevor Ward, D, Soo Eagles (NOJHL)
- The 6-2 216 lb Trevor Ward entered the season as top Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League player in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Trevor Ward was the final player I had a third round grade on in October. Carolina grabs Trevor Ward here and gambles on him in the sixth round.
San Jose Sharks: Cole Knuble, RW, Fargo Force (USHL)
- The 5-10 174 lb Cole Knuble couldn't maintain a roster spot on the United States National Team Developmental Program in the USHL. Despite that, he still did quite well with the Fargo Force in the USHL getting 20 goals, 29 assists, and 49 points in 62 games. He's got a hockey scholarship to Notre Dame. It's also worth pointing out that 6/15 scouting services have a top 100 grade on Cole Knuble.
Chicago Blackhawks: Adam Sykora, LW, HK Nitra (Tipos)
- The 5-10 172 lb Adam Sykora had 10 goals, 7 assists, 17 points, and a +3 +/- ratio with HK Nitra in 2021-2022. He also had 2 goals, 3 assists, and 5 points in 19 playoff games. He's the last top 100 player on Future Considerations big board making him an awesome value pick for the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round. Adam Sykora was also the first overall pick in the 2022 CHL Import Draft.
New York Islanders: Filip Nordberg, D, Sodertalje SK (Allsvenskan)
- The 6-4 207 lb Filip Nordberg had 6 goals, 21 assists, and 27 points on the Sodertalje SK Under 20 Team. He struggled in Allvenskan against men though. The New York Islanders can draft this Swede as a two-way defender here in the sixth round.
Winnipeg Jets: Daniil O Ivanov, D, Spartak Moscow (KHL)
- The 6-4 209 lb Daniil O Ivanov is a big, physical, two-way defenseman. He still needs to make the transition from the MHL to the KHL. He could go as early as the fourth round and as late as the sixth round.
Vancouver Canucks: Jackson Dorrington, D, Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL)
- Vancouver gets another defenseman in the sixth round. Jackson Dorrington is a nice two-way defenseman here.
- The 6-2 192 lb Jackson Dorrington had 3 goals, 8 assists, 11 points, and a -14 +/- ratio in 41 USHL regular season games in 2021-2022. Jackson Dorrington is a big, physical, two-way defenseman who has some potential as a defensive defenseman, but needs to continue to improve offensively. He'll get the chance to do that with his hockey scholarship to Northeastern.
Vegas Golden Knights: Tyler Duke, D, USNTDP (USHL)
- The Vegas Golden Knights draft another defenseman for their prospect pool in the sixth round. Tyler Duke was a third line defenseman on the United States National Team Developmental Program in the USHL.
- The 5-8 179 lb Tyler Duke had 1 goal, 11 assists, 12 points, and a -2 +/- ratio in 2020-2021. Tyler Duke had 2 goals, 9 assists, 11 points, and a +35 +/- ratio in 2021-2022. Tyler Duke accepted a hockey scholarship to Ohio State.
Anaheim Ducks: Gabriel Kangas, C, Vasteras IK (Allsvenskan)
- Anaheim gets a center here. Gabriel Kangas has a third round grade according to Draft Prospect Hockey.
- The 5-11 174 lb Gabriel Kangas had 3 goals, 3 assists, and 6 points in 45 games in Allsvenskan. He's someone whose worth taking here.
Dallas Stars: Oskar Asplund, D, Rogle BK (Elitserien)
- Dallas gets a top 100 player as well as one Scouting Services final top 100 player in the sixth round after getting the top defenseman on the power play at 18, a player with an 8/10 NHL ready grade in the second round, a preseason first round prospect in the third round a preseason second round prospect in the fourth round, and a third round pick in the fifth round. Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill was the only GM of a playoff team to keep his draft picks in rounds 1-6 of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
- The 5-11 174 lb Oskar Asplund only played one game with Rogle BK in the SHL formerly known as Elitserien. His biggest strengths on film are his puck handling, passing, teamwork, and speed.
- Oskar Asplund continues the tradition of Dallas drafting either a Swede or Finnish player from Scandinavia. Dallas drafted John Klingberg, Esa Lindell, and Miro Heiskanen who played for pro hockey teams in that area prior to being drafted by Dallas. At the very worst, he'll be a serviceable defenseman on the Texas Stars in the AHL.
Los Angeles Kings: Beau Jelsma, LW, Barrie Colts (OHL)
- The Los Angeles Kings need as many wingers as possible. Beau Jelsma was the only player on the Barrie Colts to play in all 68 regular season games in the OHL during the 2021-2022 season after being a third round pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
- The 5-10 174 lb Beau Jelsma is versatile enough to play left wing, center, or right wing with his versatility. He had 27 goals, 20 assists, and 47 points in the OHL in 2021-2022 during his 68 games as a rookie after Covid-19 cancelled the 2020-2021 OHL Season. One of the fifteen scouting services had a second round grade on Beau Jelsma.
Washington Capitals: Kent Anderson, D, Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)
- The 6-3 201 lb Kent Anderson was a ninth round pick by the Prince George Cougars in the 2020 WHL Draft. Kent Anderson turned down the WHL to go to the USHL.
- Kent Anderson is a big defenseman who had 2 goals, 26 assists, 28 points, and a -30 +/- ratio in 61 games with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL in 2021-2022. Kent Anderson anchored the blue line on the third, second, and first line with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL.
- Kent Anderson is effective in the boards when defending against smaller players. He's an outstanding passer generating assists as a quarterback on the power play. The downside with Anderson is he's not elite in any one category.
- Kent Anderson was going to go to Massachussets, but changed that decision and is going to Denver the 2022 NCAA Champion in Men's College Hockey. Right now Kent Anderson has the floor of a third line defenseman anchoring the blue in the AHL with the Hershey Bears, but he's also got the potential to be a first line defenseman in the NHL anchoring the blue line on the Washington Capitals when John Carlsson retires if the Denver Pioneers can fix his defensive play by molding him into a two-way defenseman. He can become an elite passer if he continues to improves as a passer at Denver.
- He's a flexible player that can play on any defensive line. Washington could benefit by gambling on Kent Anderson in the sixth round.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Ryan Healey, D, Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)
- Pittsburgh hasn't drafted a defenseman yet. I think Pittsburgh may go with the best player available hoping to find successors to Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Kris Letang. Pittsburgh got three centers one from USA in Rutger McGroaty, one from Finland who could go as high as the second round in the fourth round, and a German center in DEL who was a third round propsect on my big board back in October. Pittsburgh has centers that can step in when Crosby, Malkin, and Carter retire, so now they get their defenseman who you're hoping succeeds Kris Letang.
- Pittsburgh got Pierre-Olivier Joseph, a defenseman the Arizona Coyotes drafted with their 2017 first round pick from the Minnesota Wild in the trade that sent Phil Kessel to Arizona. My thought process is Pittsburgh will take the best player on their board at 21 at either center or defenseman believing that Pierre-Olivier Joseph can step in if the Penguins opt for a center over a defenseman at 21 assuming Letang goes elsewhere in Free Agency. Pittsburgh is still going to have to draft another defenseman at some point though.
- Ryan Healey, the son of former AHL defensean Erik Healey was 5-11 150 lbs when he was drafted seventh overall in the 2020 USHL Draft. Ryan Healey only had one point heading into his draft year, so I wasn't very high on Ryan Healey.
- Ryan Healey has done better than I expected. He's now the seventh player from the 2020 USHL Draft of the sixteen first round picks to get drafted by an NHL team in this mock draft.
- Ryan Healey is now 6-0 172 lbs. Ryan Healey only had 1 assist in 8 games with the United States National Team Developmental Program for a short time before joining the Sioux Falls Stampede where he had 1 assist in 7 games. Ryan Healey had a rough rookie season with 2 assists in 15 USHL games in 2020-2021.
- Ryan Healey had 3 goals, 18 assists, 21 points, and a -25 +/- ratio in 59 USHL Regular Season Games as the first line defenseman on the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. Ryan Healey isn't elite in any category, but he checks off a lot of boxes. His only weakness outside o the +/- ratio is that Ryan Healey overly aggressive at times. Ryan Healey may end up dropping further then where he's projected to go in the fourth round, if NHL teams think Ryan Healey has a smiliar career to his father Erik Healey. Pittsburgh just has to draft a defenseman at some point in the sixth round, and Ryan Healey is the best defender available.
- Ryan Healey's strengths are his hockey family, physicality, maturity, and his hockey IQ. The Hockey Writers did a fantastic job with their writeup on Healey praising Ryan Healey for his gap control while forcing opposing players to the outside. I read their writeup while typing this pick, so click this link below for the full scoop on the Sioux Falls Stampede's first round pick in the 2020 USHL Draft.
- Basically Ryan Healey has the floor of his father, Erik Healey, a career AHL player. However, he also has ceiling of New York Islanders 2014 fourth round pick Devon Toews whose now on the first line of the Colorado Avalanche defense with Cale Makar. It's the sixth round, and Pittsburgh can gamble on a defenseman with similar traits to Devon Toews this late in the draft while Ryan Healey continues to develop at Harvard which was where Adam Fox played in the NCAA after being drafted by the Calgary FLames in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft before being traded to Carolina, and then the New York Rangers after refusing to sign with Carolina.
- Ryan Healey is extremely raw right now. Hockey Writers gave him a 4/10 for offensive potential and 5/10 for defensive potential at this point in 2022.
- The worst case scenario for Ryan Healey is he's a first line defenseman that anchors the blue line for the Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins in the AHL since Ryan Healey anchored the blue line for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. That's Healey's floor.
- Ryan Healey also has potential to be a number four defenseman on a second line in the NHL after developing at Harvard for three years, a number three defenseman on the second line in the NHL after developing at Harvard for four years, or maybe even a number two defenseman that compliments your best defenseman on the first line if he takes a similar career path to Devon Toews which is a long shot.
Boston Bruins: Boston Buckberger, D, Brooks Bandits (AJHL)
- The 5-11 171 lb Boston Buckberger took over for Corson Ceulemans on the Brooks Bandits top line. Cale Makar and Corson Cuelemans anchored the blue line on the Brooks Bandits while Boston Buckberger didn't quite do that. He did however, compliment Zach Bookman on that top line.
- Boston Buckberger had 13 goals, 18 assists, and 31 points in 59 AJHL regular season games in 2021-2022. Boston Buckberger had 2 goals, 7 assists, 9 points, and 4 penalty minutes in 13 Playoff games. He had 0 penalty minutes throughout the entire AJHL Playoffs with the four penalty minutes coming in the 2022 Centennial Cup.
- The Brooks Bandits won the AJHL for best team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The Brooks Bandits also won the 2022 Centennial Cup with Boston Buckberger playing a big role with the team. Boston Buckberger has a hockey scholarship to Wisconsin where he'll develop for a few years in the Big 10.
- Boston Buckberger can develop at Wisconsin. In a few years, he could be ready for the Providence Bruins in the AHL if he's not ready for the NHL. He also may be someone who gets time in the NHL if Charlie McAvoy gets traded before 2024 when his no movement clause goes into effect.
St. Louis Blues: Ben Hemmerling, RW, Everett Silvertips (WHL)
- The 5-10 159 lb Ben Hemmerling ranked 86th overall on NHL Central Scouting. He's a fourth round prospect on quite a bit of boards with one draft site having a seventh rounnd grade on Ben Hemmerling.
- Ben Hemmerling had 3 goals, 4 assists, 7 points, and a +8 +/- ratio in 2020-2021 with the Everett Silvertips in the WHL. Ben Hemmerling 10 goals, 37 assists, 47 points, and a +22 +/- ratio in 57 WHL regular season games in 2021-2022. Ben Hemmerling also had 1 goal, 3 assists, and 4 points in 6 games during the 2022 WHL Playoffs.
- Ben Hemmerling lined up everywhere at winger on the Everett Silvertips. He lined up at line 1 left winger, line 1 right winger, line 2 left winger, line 2 right winger, line 3 left winger, line 3 right winger, line 4 left winger, and line 4 right winger in 5-on-5 situations. He also lined up on the Everett Silvertips power play unit generating 8 assists on the power play.
- Ben Hemmerling has the speed, skating, versatility, passing, playmaking, hands, stick handling, clutch ability, offensive awraeness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ you want in a winger. St. Louis can take a chance on Hemmering in the sixth round.
Minnesota Wild: Stephen Halliday, C, Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL)
- The 6-4 209 lb Stephen Halliday was the first overall pick in the 2018 USHL Futures Draft. He was drafted by the Central Illinois Flying Aces where he had 10 goals, 24 asssists, and 34 points in 55 games before the Central Illinois Flying Aces folded from the USHL in 2019 after previously playing as the Bloomington Thunder, the name of an SPHL franchise that folded.
- The Central Illinois Flying Aces had the same fate as their predecessor in Bloomington. This left Stephen Halliday in a tricky spot, but he ended up joining the Dubuque Fighting Saints in 2019-2020 where he lined up at left wing and center.
- Stephen Halliday had 13 goals, 25 assists, and 38 points in 46 games during his draft year in 2019-2020. Stephen Holliday had 10 goals, 38 assists, and 48 points in 52 games in 2020-2021 playing with Matthew Savoie when Savoie played in the USHL during Covid-19. The improvement in his game still wasn't enough to get him into late round consideration in a very weak 2021 NHL Entry Draft after the first three rounds.
- Stephen Halliday managed to win the line 1 center job for the second year in a row this season. Holliday broke out and showed why he was the best USHL player this season with 35 goals, 60 assists, 95 points, 52 penalty minutes, and a +29 +/- ratio in 62 USHL games in 2021-2022. He also had 5 assists in 2 USHL Playoff games.
- Stephen Halliday has a hockey scholarship to Ohio State. He was also the only player on Draft Prospects Hockey's 2022 NHL Draft Simulator with four stars incidating special abilities left in the sixth round.
Florida Panthers: Tim Almgren, C, Orebro HK (Elitserien)
- The Florida Panthers use this sixth round pick from Toronto to get a future AHL prospect. A prospect projected to go anywhere between the fourth and sixth round with Tim Almgren.
- The 5-10 152 lb Tim Almgren hasn't made Orebro HK's SHL roster yet. He broke out on the Orebro HK Under 18 Team with with 2 goals, 5 assists, and 7 points in 4 games before getting promoted to the Orebro HK Under 20 Team where he had 19 goals, 21 assists, and 40 points in 44 games in Sweden against adolescents in Sweden.
- Tim Almgren did enough to get promoted to an alternate captain role on Orebro HK's Under 20 Team demonstrating outstanding leadership traits. Tim Almgren has the has the playmaking, sniping, passing, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, release, offensive awareness, hockey IQ, speed, skating, agility, and stick handling you want a center to possess. He just needs to work on his face off ability and maintain this level of play in the SHL once he faces the best hockey players Sweden has to offer.
Buffalo Sabres: Jere Lassila, C, JYP (SM Liiga)
- The 5-10 174 lb Jere Lassila hasn't played against men in Finland. He did well as the team captain for Finland in the World Junior Championships with 4 goals, 4 assists, and 8 points in 6 games for Finland. Jere Lassila also had 8 goals, 7 assists, and 15 points on JYP's Under 20 Team in 2021-2022 making him a good AHL player for Buffalo to develop.
Carolina Hurricanes: Hudson Thornton, D, Prince George Cougars (WHL)
- The 5-11 178 lb Hudson Thornton complimented Keaton Dowhaunuik who anchored the blue line for the Prince George Cougars this past season. Dowhaunuik was drafted third overall in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. However, some Prince Goerge Cougars fans will argue that Hudson Thornton is the best defenseman on the Prince George Cougars after posting 14 goals, 31 assists, 45 points, and a -14 +/- ratio in 65 regular season games with the Prince George Cougars in the WHL. Hudson Thornton also had 1 assist during the 2022 WHL Playoffs.
Florida Panthers: Joel Jonsson, RW, Mora IK (Allsvenskan)
- The 5-9 152 lb Joel Jonsson had 1 goal, 1 assist, and 2 points in 5 games for Mora IK in Allsvenskan. Florida traded Owen Tippett to Philadelphia in the Claude Giroux trade, so the Panthers can draft Joel Jonsson to give the Panthers a right winger prospect for their prospect pool here.
Edmonton Oilers: Michael Mastrodomenico, D, Lincoln Stars (USHL)
- The 5-11 183 lb Michael Mastrodomenico was considered by many junior hockey scouts in Quebec to be the third best overall player in the 2020 QMJHL Draft behind Tristan Luneau and Antonin Verrault, but what makes his story even more compelling is that he turned down a paid contract with the Shawinigan Cataractes after being drafted ninth overall in the QMJHL Draft to play in the USHL. Shawinigan just won the 2022 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Playoffs as a seven seed which is tough to look back on if you are Michael Mastrodomenico.
- Michael Mastrodomenico did end up joining the Lincoln Stars in the USHL where he had 2 goals, 6 assists, and 8 points in his first USHL season in 2020-2021. Michael Mastrodomenico had 4 goals, 14 assists, and 18 points in 53 USHL games with the Lincoln Stars. He'll play at Notre Dame on a hockey scholarship this Fall.
- Michael Mastrodomenico is probably an AHL player on the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL. Maybe if he puts everything together at Notre Dame he can end up with the final defenseman role on the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL, but that's a big if.
New York Rangers: Vladislav Sapunov, D, UHC Dynamo Moscow (KHL)
- The 6-0 161 lb Vladislav Sapunov is a Russian defenseman in the MHL that hasn't even gotten any playing time in the KHL. Once Vladislav Sapunov proves himself in the KHL, he could end up signing a three year contract in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack the AHL team of the New York Rangers. Igor Shesterkin went from the MHL to the KHL for five years to the AHL for a season before getting a roster spot on the New York Rangers in the NHL in January of 2020. The following season, Igor Shesterkin asserted himself as the starting goalie of the New York Rangers. This year, Shesterkin showed he could be a top 5 goalie after getting a four year extension.
- I'm not saying Vladislav Sapunov is going to be Igor Shesterkin. I'm saying he's got a chance to play in the NHL in six years down the road by 2026 if he capitalizes on every opportunity he gets. Realistically, he's probably an AHL defenseman on the Hartford Wolfpack if the New York Rangers opt to sign him.
Tampa Bay Lightning: Dylan Silverstein, G, USTNDP (USHL)
- Hugo Alnefelt is currently the top goalie in Tampa Bay's prospect pool. Alnefelt is a backup to Andrei Vasilevskiy at best. The 6-0 179 lb Dylan Silverstein saw his goals against average decrease from 4.60 to 3.92 showing some improvement in terms of GAA. Dylan Silverstein also saw his save percentage decrease from .878 to .846. Despite this, Dylan Silverstein went 4-1-2 as a starter in 2020-2021 in the USHL before improving on that with a 6-2 record in 8 starts in 2021-2022. Dylan Silverstein has a hockey scholarship to Boston College, but he's also the only goalie with a sixth round grade.
Colorado Avalanche: Marcus Limpar Lantz, C, Orebro HK (Elitserien)
- The 6-0 190 lb Marcus Limpar Lantz had 13 goals, 24 assists, and 37 points with Orebro HK's Under 20 Team. He played in 2 SHL games, but struggled to produce any points in those two games against men in Sweden.
- Colorado loses their second line center Nazem Kadri whose currently injured and their fourth line center Darren Helm to Free Agency in 2022. Colorado traded their 2016 first round pick Tyson Jost to Minnesota for Nico Strum hoping he'd be an impact player at the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline, but that hasn't quite panned out. JT Compher, the third line center on Colorado is a 2023 Free Agent. Colorado may lack some depth at center behind Nate MacKinnon this offseason if they lose second line center Nazem Kadri, and to make things more problematic, Colorado doesn't have a draft pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft until the third round. Right now Mikko Rantanen, Colorado's best right winger, is the second line center when Nazem Kadri isn't in the lineup.
