Porter Martone Scouting Report

The 6-3 207 lb Porter Martone was drafted by the Sarnia Sting fifth overall in the 2022 OHL Draft. The Misssissauga Steelheads traded Ethan Del Mastro and a 2023 second round pick that the Flint Firebirds owned to get Porter Martone in what may be one of the All Time biggest fleeces in the history of OHL trades. Porter Marone ended up with 19 goals, 16 assists, and 36 points as a rookie with Martone getting 13 goals, 9 assists, and 22 of his 36 points after being traded to the Steelheads. Martone had 33 goals, 38 assists, and 71 points in 60 OHL games in his sophomore OHL season which was his first full season with the Mississauga Steelheads. After Mississauga relocated and became the Brampton Steelheads, Martone was promoted to team captain. Porter Martone had 37 goals, 61 assists, and 98 points in his draft year. Porter Martone has the speed, explosion, burst, agility, skating, foot speed, playmaking, passing, sniping,wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, vision, offensive awareness, defensive awareness, and hockey IQ to succeed in the NHL. He's a consensus top 4 pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6-3 192 lb Thomas Harley was a 2017 first round pick for the Mississauga Steelheads. Harley had 11 goals, 47 assists, and 58 points in 2018-2019. He struggles defensively though. His -1 +/- ratio dropped to -15 in 2018-2019. Harley has the slap shot power, slap shot accuracy, wrist shot power, wrist shot accuracy, passing, and offensive awareness you look for. This guy can be a quarterback on the power play. He has good handles and can maneuver the puck effectively. He is terrible defensively though and needs to fix that area of his game.
