2016 NHL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds

Round 7

Posted By: Chris Ransom Last Updated: June 24, 2016.

  1. Toronto Maple Leafs: Kohen Olischefski, RW, Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL)

Toronto grabs one more right winger to develop. Kohen Olischefski could go anywhere between the late fifth round and the early seventh round so getting him here to start the seventh round is terrific value.

  2. Edmonton Oilers: Chase Priskie, D, Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL)

Edmonton grabs the best player available. Chase Priskie is an effective quarterback on the power play in the BCHL.

  3. Vancouver Canucks: Brinson Pasichnuk, D, Bonnyville Pontiacs (AJHL)

Vancouver picks here. They go with Brinson Pasichnuk as a late round pick here to boost their blue line.

  4. Columbus Blue Jackets: William Bower, C, Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL)

Columbus adds another center for depth. William Bower has the versatility to play left wing, center, or right wing in the NHL.

  5. Calgary Flames: Nathan Noel, C, Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)

Calgary gets Nathan Noel here. Noel should have been drafted last year, but he went undrafted. I got the Flames taking Nathan Noel in the seventh round this year.

  6. Winnipeg Jets: Carlton Point, G, Carleton Point Canadians (BCHL)

Winnipeg goes with Carlton Point here. Point is one of the better goalies left at this point.

  7. Arizona Coyotes: Olivier Galipeau, D, Val-d'Or Foreurs (QMJHL)

The Coyotes grab another defenseman. Olivier Galipeau is the team captain for the Val-dOr Foreurs. It would make sense for the Coyotes to add him with a late round pick.

  8. Buffalo Sabres: Mathias From, LW, Rogle B.K. (Allsvenskan)

Buffalo gets a project left winger to develop. Mathias From makes a lot of sense at this point in the seventh round.

  9. Buffalo Sabres: Austin Osmanski, D, Mississauga Steelheads (OHL)

Buffalo continues to load up on defense. The 6-4 194 lb Austin Osmanski is a great addition here at this point in the seventh round.

  10. Colorado Avalanche: Turner Ottenbreit, D, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL)

The Colorado Avalanche continue to add depth at the blue line. Turner Ottenbreit is a great late round addition for Colorado.

  11. New Jersey Devils: Yushiroh Hirano, RW, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL)

New Jersey adds a right winger for depth. Yushiroh Hirano is a great prospect to add for the Devils in the seventh round.

  12. New York Islanders: Alex Dostie, C, Gatineau Olympiques (QMJHL)

    Alex Dostie had 25 goals, 48 assists, and 73 points in 2015-2016. The 5-10 172 lb Dostie had a +31 +/- ratio in 2015.

  13. Vancouver Canucks: Owen Grant, D, Carleton Place Canadians (BCHL)

Vancouver adds another prospect on the blue line. Owen Grant is the best player available at this point.

  14. Boston Bruins: Joseph Woll, G, United States National Team Developmental Program (USHL)

Boston adds another goalie to develop. Joseph Woll should have been selected three rounds ago. He has a 2.60 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 12 starts.

  15. Minnesota Wild: Matthew Jurusik, G, Wisconsin

Matthew Jurusik of Wisconsin gives the Wild a developmental goalie. Jurusik is the top goalie left at this point in the seventh round.

  16. Detroit Red Wings: Joona Koppanen, LW, Ilves (SM Liiga)

Detroit adds another winger. Joona Koppanen could be better than sixth round pick Otto Koivula.

  17. Nashville Predators: Filip Berglund, D, Skelleftea A.I.K. (Elitserien)

Nashville gets another defenseman to wrap up the seventh roung. Filip Berglund is a great addition at this point.

  18. Philadelphia Flyers: Pius Suter, C, ZSC Lions (National League A)

Pius Suter was the line 1 center on the ZSC Lions in 2014-2015 before Auston Matthews joined the team. Suter now plays on the second line and looks like a line 2 AHL center at best.

  19. New York Islanders: Andrei Svetlakov, C, CSKA Moscow (KHL)

Andrei Svetlakov may go a round earlier than this. Svetlakov has too much talent to go undrafted.

  20. New York Rangers: Artur Shepelkov, D, CSKA Moscow (KHL)

The New York Rangers add a defenseman for depth. Artur Shepelkov is a good value pick at this point.

  21. Los Angeles Kings: Tarmo Reunanen, D, TPS (SM Liiga)

    Tarmo Reunanen .

  22. Chicago Blackhawks: Antti Kalapudas, LW, Kalevan Pallo (SM Liiga)

Antti Kalpudas has the versatility to play left wing, center, and right wing. Having the versatility to play all three of those forward roles will help him.

  23. Minnesota Wild: Jesper Mattila, D, Ilves (SM Liiga)

Minnesota adds a project defensemen. Jesper Mattila is a great fit for Minnesota in the seventh round at this point.

  24. Anaheim Ducks: Lukas Zetterberg, RW, Skelleftea A.I.K. (Eliteserien)

Anaheim adds a right winger to finish the seventh round. The Ducks will get at least one player from Sweden in this draft or possibly more.

  25. Tampa Bay Lightning: Colt Conrad, C, Western Michigan

Tampa Bay adds a College skater to put in their system. Western Michigan center Colt Conrad has the tools to be a future playmaker in the NHL.

  26. Washington Capitals: Todd Burgess, RW, Fairbanks Ice Dogs (NAHL)

Washington drafts a right winger here. Todd Burgess showed promise as one of the top prospects in the North American Hockey League. He still needs to grow in 2015-2016.

  27. Tampa Bay Lightning: Seamus Malone, C, Wisconsin

Tampa Bay ddrafts one more College center in the seventh round. Seamus Malone is the one of the top prospects left.

  28. St. Louis Blues: Brendan De Jong, D, Portland Winterhawks (WHL)

Brendan De Jong could have gone as early as two rounds ago in the late fifth round. St. Louis would love to get him at this spot.

  29. San Jose Sharks: Sebastian Aho, D, Skelleftea A.I.K. (Elitserien)

The Sharks add one more defenseman they can groom for the future. Taking Sebastian Aho makes a lot of sense here.

  30. St. Louis Blues: Cody Porter, G, Calgary Hitmen (WHL)

The St. Louis Blues wrap up our seven round NHL Mock Draft with a goalie. Cody Porter is the top keeper at this point.
