2023 NFL Mock Draft: Final Mock 7 Rounds

Round 6

Chris Ransom follow @DraftUtopia Last Updated: April 27, 2023.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs: Lonnie Phelps, LOLB, Kansas

Kansas City gets an outside linebacker for depth. Kansas City has Willie Gay Jr. in a contract year at 4-3 right outside linebacker and Leo Chenal at 4-3 left outside linebacker when Kansas City runs 4-3 plays. Chenal is the backup linebacker to Willie Gay Jr. on plays where Kansas City runs nickel plays. Kansas City would get a third outside linebacker that would learn under Willie Gay Jr. and Leo Chenal for a year before getting a bigger role in 2024 as a high end backup for the 2023 NFL Season.

The 6-2 251 lb Lonnie Phelps complimented Miami Ohio pass rusher Dominique Robertson off the edge at Miami Ohio. He transferred to Kansas and lined up as a 4-3 left end and 3-4 left outside linebacker rarely placing his hand in the dirt. Kansas City will draft Lonnie Phelps as a 4-3 left outside linebacker for depth.

  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ventrell Miller, 3-4 MLB, Florida

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have both Devin White and Lavonte David in contract years at 3-4 middle linebacker. Tampa Bay has to draft at least one 3-4 middle linebacker and may need two.

The 6-0 232 lb Ventrell Miller is versatile enough to play 4-3 middle linebacker and 3-4 middle linebacker with his versatility. Ventrell Miller led Florida with 88 total tackles in 2020. A season ending injury in 2021 limited what Miller could do. Ventrell Miller had 34 solo tackles, 40 assisted tackles, 74 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, 7 quarterback hurries, 2 deflections from pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles in 2022.

I posted a film cut of Florida linebacker Ventrell Miller VS Tennessee. Ventrell Miller showed the ability to pass rush, stuff the run, and drop back into zone coverage against Tennessee.

  3. Arizona Cardinals: DeMarvion Overshown, ROLB, Texas

Arizona gets a 4-3 right outside linebacker to groom behind Kyzir White. DeMarvion Overshown would be a good candidate to develop.

The 6-2 220 lb DeMarvion Overshown dominated at Texas during his first two seasons. At one point, Overshown was considered a candidate to be a first round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft back in August of 2021.

DeMarvion Overshown had 49 solo tackles, 47 assisted tackles, 96 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 5 deflections from pass breakups, 4 sacks, and 2 quarterback hurries in 2022. DeMarvion Overshown ran a 4.56 40-time at the 2023 NFL Combine.

  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland

Tampa Bay gets a second cornerback for depth after taking Corey Trice in the last round. Jakorian Bennett is my top cornerback on the board.

The 5-10 193 lb Jakorian Bennett complimented Deonte Banks at cornerback. I gave Jakorian Bennett a C- grade in man coverage, a C grade in zone coverage, and an A+ in press coverage. Bennett is incredible at pressing wide receivers. He has great speed, but doesn't take good angles on plays. He ran a 4.30 40 time and has potential. He is a project cornerback that will need time to develop.

  5. Los Angeles Rams: Eric Gray, RB, Oklahoma

The Los Angeles Rams get a running back for depth. Eric Gray is a good change of pace running back. He's faster than Kyren Williams, but he's not as efficient in pass blocking as Williams. He's just as effective of a pass catcher and his ball carrier vision is up and down.

The 5-9 210 lb Eric Gray gives the Los Angeles Rams another running back for depth. Gray isn't the pass blocker Kyren Williams is, but he's faster in terms of game speed. He's also just as lethal of a pass catcher.

  6. Detroit Lions: Josh Whyle, TE, Cincinnati

Detroit has Brock Wright and James Mitchell. One more tight end for depth is needed. This is where Cincinnati tight end Josh Whyle comes off the board.

The 6-6 260 lb Josh Whyle ran 16/30 routes on the route tree while showcasing elite run blocking and pass blocking for a tight end. Josh Whyle had 32 receptions, 326 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns in 2022. Josh Whyle was also a participant in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl. Josh Whyle ran a 4.69 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine.

  7. New England Patriots: P.J. Mustipher, 3-4 LE, Penn State

New England gets a 3-4 left end for depth here in the sixth round to backup Christian Barmore. P.J. Mustipher is my top defensive tackle on the board. He's versatile enough to play in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme.

The 6-3 315 lb P.J. Mustipher had 19 solo tackles, 18 assisted tackles, 37 total tackles, 1 quarterback hurry, and 0.5 sack in 2022. P.J. Mustiper ran a 5.41 40 yard dash time and did 19 reps on the bench press at the 2023 NFL Combine.

  8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Wanya Morris, RT, Oklahoma

Jacksonville drafts a right tackle for depth in the sixth round. One guy whose been mocked higher than the sixth round is Oklahoma right tackle Wanya Morris. I had a fifth round grade on Wanya Morris and his average draft position in mock drafts is 134.

The 6-4 317 lb Wanya Morris began his career at Tennessee and beat out Darnell Wright for the left tackle job before transferring to Oklahoma where he played right tackle as a bookend to Anton Harrison. Wanya Morris played well enough to earn an invite to the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl.

Wanya Morris has the pass blocking, pass blocking strength, and pass blocking footwork. He's the first offensive tackle at Oklahoma that's been able to maintain blocks for 7-10 seconds since Orlando Brown Jr. on passing plays. The downside is he's a massive project as a run blocker. He needs to imrpove his run blocking strength and run blocking footwork. In the defense of Wanya Morris, his zone blocking is decent though.

  9. Tennessee Titans: Jake Andrews, C, Troy

Tennessee gets a replacement to Ben Jones at center. Troy center Jake Andrews is the best center on the board at this point in the draft.

The 6-3 319 lb Jake Andrews participated in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2023 NFL Combine. Jake Andrews has the pass blocking and run blocking you want in a center. I want to see him get stronger and improve his footwork if he's going to succeed in the NFL. Andrews might be talented enough to play day 1 in Tennessee despite getting picked this late in the 2023 NFL Draft.

I posted a film cut of Troy's offensive line VS Appalachian State. Troy has two draftable offensive linemen in left tackle Austin Stidham and center Jake Andrews.

  10. New England Patriots: Carlton Martial, 3-4 MLB, Troy

New England adds a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth. Carlton Martial broke Luke Kuechly's NCAA record for total tackles. Luke Kuechly had 533 total tackles and held that record until this year when Carlton Martial 578 total tackles in his career at middle linebacker with the Troy Trojans. Carlton Martial is also versatile enough to play 4-3 middle linebacker and 3-4 middle linebacker.

The 5-9 210 lb Carlton Martial played at Troy for five seasons after being redshirted in 2017. Carlton Martial exceeded 100 total tackles in each of the past four seasons.

Carlton Martial had 69 solo tackles, 57 assisted tackles, 126 total tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, 3 quarterback hurries, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 deflection from pass breakups in 2019. Carlton Martial had 54 solo tackles, 59 assisted tackles, 113 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 3 deflections from pass breakups, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 sack, and 1 interception in 2020. Carlton Martial had 44 solo tackles, 83 assisted tackles, 127 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 3 quarterback hurries, 2 sacks, 2 deflections from pass breakups, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble in 2021. Carlton Martial had 55 solo tackles, 80 assisted tackles, 135 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, 2 quarterback hurries, 2 deflections from pass breakups, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and a 0.5 sack in 2022.

Carlton Marital warrants a flyer. Anyone that can come into the NCAA and break Luke Kuechly's record for most NCAA tackles of All Time deserves a shot to be drafted in the late rounds.

  11. Houston Texans: Caleb Chandler, RG, Louisville

Houston gets a right guard to groom behind Shaq Mason. Caleb Chandler is the top guard available.

The 6-4 297 lb Caleb Chandler can pass block and run block. He needs to get stronger by improving his pass blocking strength, pass blocking footwork, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork.

  12. Los Angeles Rams: Riley Moss, CB, Iowa

Los Angeles drafts a cornerback for depth after losing Jalen Ramsey. Iowa cornerback Riley Moss is the best player on the board.

The 6-0 192 lb Riley Moss had 34 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 39 total tackles, 5 deflections from pass breakups, 4 interceptions, 3 tackles fora loss, 2 defensive touchdowns, 1 quarterback hurry, and won Big 10 Defensive Player Of The Year in 2021. Riley Moss had 31 solo tackles, 16 assisted tackles, 47 total tackles, 11 deflections from pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception, 1 tackle for a loss, and 1 quarterback hurry in 2022.

I gave Riley Moss a C grade in man coverage, an A- grade in zone coverage, and a C grade in press coverage. Riley Moss participated in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl where his week was up and down. Riley Moss also ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine.

  13. Cleveland Browns: Joey Fisher, LT, Shepherd

The Cleveland Browns get an offensive tackle for depth. Cleveland gets a number four offensive tackle with Jedrick Wills at left tackle, Jack Conklin at right tackle, and James Hudson III at swing tackle.

The 6-5 322 lb Joey Fisher was the blindside left tackle to Shepherd quarterback Tyson Baegant. Joey Fisher has the pass blocking, pass blocking strength, and pass blocking footwork you want a left tackle to have. He can develop as a run blocker in Cleveland and rana 4.90 40-yard dash at Shepherd's Pro Day.

  14. Los Angeles Rams: Ryan Hayes, LT, Michigan

Los Angeles gets someone to push Alaric Jackson for the swing tackle job. This is where Michigan left tackle Ryan Hayes comes off the board.

The 6-6 305 lb Ryan Hayes played left tackle and right tackle at Michigan. Ryan Hayes has the run blocking, run blocking strength, and run blocking footwork. He needs to develop as a pass blocker. Ryan Hayes got embarrassed by Isaiah Foskey in one-on-ones at the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl. He will make a decent number four offensive tackle on a depth chart, but he's a project.

  15. New England Patriots: Tank Bigsby, RB, Auburn

New England's getting another running back for depth. New England still has Rhamondre Stevenson, New England's 2021 fourth round pick out of Oklahoma, who spent the first two years as the number two running back finally getting an opportunity to be the number one running back. New England added James Robinson to be their number two running back on a one year deal. New England also has 2022 fourth round pick Pierre Strong Jr. out of South Dakota State. Pierre Strong Jr. started out as the third string running back as a rookie, but showed enough to convince me he can be New England's number one running back on Monday Night Football against Arizona. New England has a lot of talented running backs, but their backup running back from last season is currently the number one running back which is why new England drafts another running back here.

The 6-0 210 lb Tank Bigsby had 223 carries, 1,099 rushing yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2021. Tank Bigsby's stats looked good, but he struggled in terms of pass catching, pass blocking, and displaying good ball carrier vision on game film versus Alabama in 2021. Tank Bigsby had 179 carries, 970 rushing yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2022.

Tank Bigsby ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine. Bigsby entered the year as a potential starter. Now he looks more like a change of pace running back.

I believe Rhamondre Stevenson will be on New England's week 1 roster, but the rest of this backfield remains a question mark. You can make a case for either James Robinson or Pierre Strong Jr. as New England's number two running back, but it seems like Robinson will get the number two running back spot. Right now T.Y. Montgomery is listed as the third string running back on one depth chart I saw ahead of Pierre Strong Jr., but he's a wide receiver as well as a running back. New England also has J.J. Taylor and Kevin Smith a 2022 sixth round pick out of South Carolina competing with Tank Bigsby for a spot on this roster.

I'm excluding T.Y. Montgomery from the running back room since I view him as more of a wide receiver than a running back since that was his role at Stanford even though Montgomery can be used in similar fashion as Cordarrelle Patterson. Rhamondre Stevenson, James Robinson, and Pierre Strong Jr. are gonna be on this roster. The big question is whether J.J. Taylor, Kevin Smith, or Tank Bigsby ends up winning the fourth and final running back spot on New England's fifty three man roster.

  16. Washington Commanders: Jake Witt, LT, Northern Michigan

Washington gets depth at left tackle behind Charles Leno Jr.. Jake Witt is a great addition for Washington in the sixth round. Witt is 6-7 302 lbs, and had a strong Pro Day.

  17. Detroit Lions: Hunter Luepke, FB, North Dakota State

The Detroit Lions take the top fullback in the 2023 NFL Draft. This is essentially a luxury pick here.

The 6-1 230 lb Hunter Luepke had 98 carries, 621 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns, 14 receptions, 196 receiving yards, 4 receiving touchdowns, 112 touches, 817 total yards, and 13 total touchdowns with North Dakota State as their fullback in 2022.

Hunter Luepke was the only fullback to participate in both the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2023 NFL Combine. He's a great value pick this late in the draft.

  18. Denver Broncos: Kaevon Merriweather, SS, Iowa

Denver drafts a safety for depth behind Caden Sterns now that Kareem Jackson is gone. Iowa strong safety Kaevon Merriweather is a good fit for Denver here in the sixth round.

The 6-0 207 lb Kaevon Merriweather is a pure strong safety. He gives Denver depth behind Caden Sterns.

Kaevon Merriweather participated at the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl showing promise. He ran a bad 40 yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine, but looked alright in the other drills for defensive backs.

  19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Anfernee Orji, 3-4 MLB, Vanderbilt

Tampa Bay gets a second 3-4 middle linebacker for depth. Vanderbilt middle linebacker Anfernee Orji can play 4-3 middle linebacker or 3-4 middle linebacker.

The 6-1 230 lb Anfernee Orji had 54 solo tackles, 38 assisted tackles, 92 total tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 2 quarterback hurries, 1 sack, 1 deflection from a pass breakup, and 1 quarterback hurry in 2021. Anfernee Orji had 53 solo tackles, 54 assisted tackles, 107 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3 quarterback hurries, 2 forced fumbles and 1 sack in 2022.

Anfernee Orji led Vanderbilt in total tackles and tackles for a loss in 2021. He improved his total number of tackles in 2022. Orji did enough to earn an invite to the 2023 East West Shrine Bowl. He also ran a 4.53 40 yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine. Anfernee Orji was the star of Vanderbilt's 2023 Pro Day.

  20. Miami Dolphins: Max Duggan, QB, TCU

Miami gets a quarterback to compete with Skylar Thompson for the backup gig now that Teddy Bridgewater is gone. TCU quarterback Max Duggan would be a nice addition here.

The 6-1 204 lb Max Duggan had 3,698 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in 2022. Max Duggan got TCU to the 2023 National Championship game in the 2022-2023 College Football Playoff. Max Duggan competed in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl and really showed off his football IQ in his interview with Steve Mariucci. Max Duggan is smart enough to steal the backup quarterback gig from Skylar Thompson.

  21. Seattle Seahawks: Ronnie Bell, WR, Michigan
The Seattle Seahawks grab a wide receiver for depth in the sixth round. Michigan wide receiver Ronnie Bell would be a good backup.

The 5-11 192 lb Ronnie Bell had 62 receptions, 889 receiving yards, and 4 receiving touchdowns in 2022. Ronnie Bell had 6 receptions, 135 receiving yards, and 1 receiving touchdown in Michigan's College Football Playoff loss to TCU. He's someone that can replace Goowdin and start out as a backup to Tyler Lockett, D.K. Metcalf, and slot receiver D'Wayne Eskeridge now known as Dee Eskeridge.

  22. Baltimore Ravens: Tyson Bagent, QB, Shepherd

Baltimore is waiting on Lamar Jackson and brought back Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley who is Lamar Jackson's backup. Another quarterback for insurance could be used. Shepherd quarterback Tyson Baegant gets picked in the exact same slot as former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Tom Brady. The seven time Super Bowl champion was drafted out of Michigan with the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.

The 6-2 213 lb Tyson Bagent had 5,000 passing yards, 53 passing touchdowns, 75 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, 5,075 total yards, 56 total touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 2021 when winning the 2021 Harlon Hill Trophy which goes to the best player in Division II. Tyson Bagent also won the 2021 Don Hansen Division II Offensive Player Of The Year Award.

Tyson Bagent had 4,580 passing yards, 41 passing touchdowns, 71 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns, 4,651 total yards, 46 total touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in 2022. Tyson Bagent particpated in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2023 NFL Combine. Tyson Bagent scored a 96 percent on the S2 Cognition test used by NFL teams. This was the second highest S2 Score trailing only Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.

I posted a film cut of Shpeherd quarterback Tyson Bagent VS Cal PA. Tyson Bagent won the Harlon Hill Trophy in 2021 as the top player in Division II.

  23. Los Angeles Chargers: Trevor Reid, LT, Louisville

The Los Angeles Chargers get a left tackle for depth in case Jamaree Salyer moves inside to guard. Right now the Los Angeles Chargers are projected to have Rashawn Slater at left tackle, Jamaree Salyer at left guard, Corey Linsley at center, Zion Johnson at right guard, and Trey Pipkins III at right tackle. It's also possible that Zion Johnson plays left guard with Salyer playing right guard. Either way depth behind Rashawn Slater is needed with now with his backup Jamree Salyer kicking inside to guard.

The 6-5 307 lb Trevor Reid was Louisville's left tackle the past two seasons. I interviewed Reid at the East West Shrine Bowl, but the audio from that interview was choppy. Reid has good character and spoke highly of his teammates on offense at Louisville.

  24. Houston Texans: Cam Jones, LOLB, Indiana

Houston gets another outside linebacker for depth. Cam Jones is my top linebacker available.

The 6-1 227 lb Cam Jones showed the versatility to play 4-3 right outside linebacker, 4-3 middle linebacker, 4-3 left outside linebacker, and 3-4 middle linebacker on film. Indiana's captain on defense is one of the most versatile linebackers in this draft. He was also a great leader in Indiana's locker room.

  25. Jacksonville Jaguars: Demario Douglas, WR, Liberty

Jacksonville drafts a wide receiver for depth here. Liberty wide receiver Demario Douglas stepped up for Liberty after losing quarterback Malik Willis.

Jacksonville needs depth at wide receiver after losing Marvin Jones. One wide receiver Jacksonville can add for depth here is Libery wide receiver Demario Douglas.

The 5-7 175 lb Demario Douglashad 52 receptions, 701 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns as the number one target for Malik Willis in 2021. Demario Douglas had 79 receptions, 993 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in 2022.

Demario Douglas ran a 4.44 40 yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine. He could replace Jamal Agnew on special teams in 2024 and for a lot cheaper than what Jacksonville is currently paying Agnew, whose in the final year of his contract with Jacksonville.

  26. Houston Texans: DeWayne McBride, RB, UAB

Houston has Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary as their top two running backs. Right now, Dare Ogunbowaie, Mike Boone, and Gerrid Doaks are competing for the third string running back gig. Houston can draft a running back to compete with those guys for the third string running back job.

The 5-10 209 lb DeWayne McBride had 204 carries, 1,371 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 3 receptions, 19 receiving yards, 0 receiving touchdowns, 207 touches, 1,390 total yards, and 13 total touchdowns in 2021. DeWayne McBride had 233 carries, 1,713 rushing yards, 19 rushing touchdowns, 2 receptions, 10 receiving yards, 0 receiving touchdowns, 235 touches, 1,723 total yards, and 19 total touchdowns in 2022.

DeWayne McBride won the 2022 Conference USA Offensive Player Of The Year Award. DeWayne McBride has the speed, pass catching, and ball carrier vision you want in a change of pace running back. He needs to improve his pass blocking, but he did relatively well at UAB. His ball carrier vision was up and down against LSU, but he always gave 110 percent despite injuries on the offensive line averaging 7.4 yards per carry in 2022.

I also watched DeWayne McBride nicknamed "Debo" against Liberty. He fumbled the ball twice in that game so there may be some ball security questions. He will attack the hole quite effectively and I believe he's someone who can develop into a change of pace running back for Dameon Pierce as early as 2024 after sitting behind Pierce and Singletary. He's got to beat out Dare Ogunbowaie, Mike Boone, and Gerrid Doaks for Houston's third string running back job in training camp first.

  27. Las Vegas Raiders: Tyler Scott, WR, Cincinnati

Las Vegas has Davante Adams as their flanker receiver, Hunter Renfrow as their secondary receiver, Jakobi Meyers as their slot receiver, Phillip Dorsett as their number four target, and Deandre Carter who left the Los Angeles Chargers as their number five receiver to join the Las Vegas Raiders as their number five wide receiver. Las Vegas drafts Cincinnati wide receiver Tyler Scott to compete with Keelan Cole, Cam Smith, and Tyler Johnson for the number six wide receiver spot on th Las Vegas Raiders roster.

The 5-11 185 lb Tyler Scott had 54 receptions, 899 receiving yards, and 9 receiving touchdowns in 2022. Tyler Scott ran a 4.44 40 yard dash at the 2023 NFL Combine. Tyler Scott can run streak routes by dominating the deep passing game and taking the top off. He's a fantastic scheme fit for a vertical offense that will incorporate the deep passing game as all of his touchdowns were on plays that were 20 yards or longer. He's still developing his short and medium routes. The Raiders can develop Scott this year and use him in hail mary situations in 2024. He might be ready to be a top 3 wide receiver by 2025 if he learns to improve his short and medium routes in the NFL.

  28. Buffalo Bills: Trey Dean III, FS, Florida

Buffalo has Micah Hyde back at free safety and Jordan Poyer at strong safety. Buffalo got the news that Damar Hamlin has been cleared to resume training at free safety after filling in for Hyde last year. Buffalo also signed Taylor Rapp as a backup strong safety to Poyer. Buffalo is drafting one more safety for depth. That's where Florida free safety Trey Dean III comes into play.

The 6-2 211 lb Trey Dean III could go as early as the fourth or fifth round. He ran a 4.75 at the 2023 NFL Combine. Buffalo is drafting my best safety on the board as a developmental player. Trey Dean III led Florida with 92 total tackles in 2021. He looked a lot more suspect on film in 2022. Buffalo needs a third free safety for insurance in case both Hyde and Poyer get injured again in 2023.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals: Kory Curtis, QB, Gannon

Cincinnati no longer has Brandon Allen as a backup quarterback to Joe Burrow. Their current backup to Joe Burrow is undrafted Free Agent Jake Browning out of Washington. Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis was in Ohio State's quarterback room when Joe Burrow was at Ohio State.

The 6-4 235 lb Kory Curtis had 2,879 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, 4 rushing touchdowns, 31 total touchdowns, and 4 interceptions in 2022. Kory Curtis threw an 84 yard pass at Duquense's Pro Day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvaia. His 84 yard completion was the longest throw of any quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft at any Pro Day.

I posted a film cut of Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis VS Cal PA. Kory Curtis has a very quick release while showcasing the ability to make effective medium and deep throws. He's got the footwork to make 1 step, 3 step, 5 step, and 7 step throws.

I posted an interview with Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis on our Youtube channel as well as Twitter Spaces. Go to the 29 minute mark to play the interview or listen to the podcast in it's entirety from teams competing for playoff spots, to the Kory Curtis interview, to an NFL Mock Draft card game following the interview with Kory Curtis.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Holton Ahlers, QB, East Carolina

New York drafts a quarterback for depth. Holton Ahlers was the MVP of both the 2023 Hula Bowl and the 2023 NFLPA Bowl.

The 6-4 230 lb lb Holton Ahlers had 3,708 passing yards, 28 passing touchdowns, and 5 interceptions while posting a career high 67.2% completion percentage. Holton Ahlers was the 2023 Hula Bowl MVP and 2023 NFLPA Bowl MVP.

  31. Jacksonville Jaguars: Clayton Tune, QB, Houston

Jacksonville does not have a fullback on their roster. I'm giving them the top fullback in the 2023 NFL Draft with this sixth round pick.

Jacksonville drafts a legit backup for Trevor Lawrence and I get Garner Minshew II vibes with Houston quarterback Clayton Tune here. Clayton Tune is the best quarterback on the board at this point in the sixth round.

The 6-2 216 lb Clayton Tune had 4,074 passing yards, 40 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 2022. Clayton Tune participated in the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl and the 2023 NFL Combine.

  32. New York Giants: Brett Neilon, C, USC

New York drafts a second center for depth. USC center Brett Neilon is my top center on the board despite not receiving an invite to the 2023 NFL Combine.

The 6-2 295 lb Brett Neilon had a 90.5 pass blocking grade and 89.6 run blocking grade on Pro Football Focus. His talent speaks for itself as he pass blocked well for quarterback Caleb Williams while run blocking well for USC running back Travis Dye. He needs to get stronger while improving his footwork, but the talent to be an effective backup center for New York is there.

  33. New England Patriots: Michael Turk, P, Oklahoma

New England is projected to get this compensation pick at 210 for losing backup center Ted Karras, who chose to take a starting center job in Cincinnati. New England can get a nice value pick here.

New England cut their punter. Oklahoma punter Michael Turk is my best punter on the board in the sixth round.

The 6-0 231 lb Michael Turk had an 85 yard punt. Turk averaged 51.2 yards per punt in 2022 and has a boot for a foot.

  34. Minnesota Vikings: Tanner McKee, QB, Stanford

Minnesota is projected to get this compensation pick at 211 for losing backup center Mason Cole, who chose to take a starting center job elsewhere. Minnesota had two starting centers in Garrett Bradbury and Mason Cole in 2021. Mason Cole signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2022 NFL Free Agency Period.

Minnesota drafts a legit backup for Kirk Cousins. Tanner McKee is the best quarterback on the board at this point in the sixth round.

The 6-6 231 lb Tanner McKee can only make one read in terms of making progressions. He will get picked, but I see him as a fifth to sixth round prospect rather than the second to third round prospect that most scouts have hyped him up to be. He's the youngest quarterback left in the 2023 NFL Draft, but this could also end up being a bigger disaster than Kellen Mond.

  35. Dallas Cowboys: Derick Brown, LE, Auburn

Dallas is projected to get this compensation pick at 212 for losing wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. to the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 NFL Free Agency Period.

The 6-3 256 lb Derick Hall lined up at 4-3 right end and 4-3 left end last year. He won more one-on-ones against Evan Neal than Travon Walker did against Alabama's left tackle. Derick Hall had 12 tackles for a loss and 9 sacks in 2021. Derick Hall had 42 solo tackles, 18 assisted tackles, 60 total tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 7 sacks, 7 quarterback hurries, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 interception in 2022.

Derick Hall did well enough to earn an invite to the 2023 Reese's Senior Bowl. Derick Hall was considered Auburn's best player on defense heading into the preseason, so Dallas getting him in the sixth round is a huge bargain. Derick Hall improved his zone coverage and is one of the better zone coverage pass rushers at defensive end in this draft meaning he might be ablt to cover to an outisde linebacker role if a team needs him in that role. Dallas drafts him as a defensive end though.

Dallas now has Dorrace Armstrong Jr at 4-3 right end, Demarcus Lawrence at 4-3 left end, Sam Williams as a backup 4-3 right end, and Derick Hall as a backup 4-3 left end.

  36. Arizona Cardinals: Kenny McKintosh, RB, Georgia

Arizona is projected to get this compensation pick at 213 for losing running back Chase Edmonds. Chase Edmonds signed a one year contract with the Miami Dolphins during the 2022 NFL Free Agency period.

The 5-foot-11 210 lb Kenny McKintosh had 150 carries, 829 rushing yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2022. Kenny McKintosh was a third string running back to Zamir White and James Cook in 2021 before taking over as the starting running back in 2022.

  37. Las Vegas Raiders: Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas

Las Vegas is projected to get this compensation pick at 214 for losing cornerback Casey Hayward. Casey Hayward signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2022 NFL Free Agency period.

The 6-0 225 lb Roschon Johnson has the speed, pass catching, ball carrier vision, and pass blocking you want a running back to have. Some have Roschon Johnson being projected to get drafted a lot higher than this. He's a running back Las Vegas can draft and groom for a year with Zamir White and Roschon Johnson competing for the starting running back job in 2024 once Josh Jacobs leaves.

  38. Washington Commanders: Ikenna Enechukwu, LE, Rice

Washington is projected to get this compensation pick at 215 for losing backup 4-3 defensive tackle Tim Settle. Tim Settle signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills who utilized Settle in a similar role.

Washington gets another defensive end for depth. Ikenna Enechukwu is a great value pick this late in the sixth round.

The 6-4 266 lb Ikenna Enechukwu had 16 solo tackles, 21 assisted tackles, 37 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 6 quarterback hurreis, 4.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble in 2022. Ikenna Enechukwu struggled against USC's offensive line in the season opener for Rice.

  39. San Francisco 49ers: Jaxson Kirkland, LT, Washington

San Francisco is projected to get this compensation pick at 216 for losing backup 4-3 defensive end Arden Key. Arden Key signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a backup 3-4 right outside linebacker during the 2022 NFL Free Agency Period.

San Francisco gets depth on the offensive line. Jaxson Kirkland can be a third string left tackle as well as a backup left guard to Aaron Banks.

The 6-6 322 lb Jaxson Kirkland was Washington's left tackle in 2022. He struggled in 2021, but rebounded as a senior in 2022.

  40. Kansas City Chiefs: Brenton Cox Jr., LE, Florida

Kansas City is projected to get this compensation pick at 217 for losing wide receiver Byron Pringle. Byron Pringle signed with the Chicago Bears during the 2022 NFL Free Agency Period.

Kansas City drafts a 4-3 left end to compete with backup 4-3 left end Mike Danna for a roster spot. Brenton Cox Jr. is a player I really like who stood out on film.

The 6-3 254 lb Brenton Cox Jr. is versatile enough to play 4-3 right end, 4-3 left end, 3-4 right end, 3-4 left end, 3-4 right outside linebacker, and 3-4 left outside linebacker. He can play defensive end on either side in either a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme. He can also be used as a 3-4 outside linebacker off of the edge.

I posted a film cut of Florida edge Brenton Cox Jr. VS Tenneesse from when Florida and Tennessee faced each other in 2022. Brenton Cox Jr. did more against Darnell Wright than Alabama pass rusher Will Anderson Jr.
