Michael Houser: Robert Luongo's Successor

Michael Houser dominated with the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League before going undrafted twice. Houser may be the NHL's next undrafted superstar as he has exceeded expectations ever since signing with the Florida Panthers.
In 2011-2012 Houser won OHL Goaltender of the Year and the Red Tilson Trophy for OHL's most outstanding player of the year. Despite this nobody drafted Houser when he posted a 2.47 GAA and a .925 save percentage.
Houser started 37 games last season where he posted a 2.83 GAA and .900 save percentage. Houser is still a project and he may end up being an AHL goalie at best.
At the end of the day he's in the best position to succeed Roberto Luongo. That's the bottom line and you cannot look past that if Houser has another dominant season with the Portland Pirates after being such a huge asset on the San Antonio Rampage last season.
