Portland Trail Blazers 2017 Season Preview
Damian Lillard is one of the NBA's best point guards. He still cannot get past Steph Curry though.

Portland is a very underrated squad with great chemistry and outstanding coaching. They could very easily be this years version of the Indiana Pacers in the Western Conference.
Point guard Damian Lillard led the nation in scoring when playing for Weber State. The only team that wanted him was the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland is reaping the benefits of Lillard. He won rookie of the year in 2012-2013 following the 2012 NBA Draft when he scored 19 points per game for the Trail Blazers. Lillard can also get you 6 assists and 3 rebounds per game. In 2013-2014 Lillard posted 20.7 points per game. Lillard averaged 21 points per game last season in 2014-2015.
Lillard was able to grow because he had an awesome supporting cast featuring Wesley Matthews at shooting guard, Nicolas Batum at small forward, LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward, and Robin Lopez at center.
Lillard may be back, but Portland lost 4 other starters. I think the Trail Blazers are about to enter a two-year rebuilding phase. The Trail Blazers had a golden ticket to win a playoff series. The Trail Blazers failed to win one series and losing your other 4 starters outside of Lillard really set this team back.
