Atlanta Falcons: Grady Jarrett, DT, Clemson
B- Grade
- Atlanta gets a good value pick with Jarrett. He may have been a better fit as a 4-3 defensive tackle.
Tennessee Titans: David Cobb, RB, Minnesota
B Grade
- David Cobb isn't a starter. The Titans don't need a starter with Bishop Sankey. David Cobb will be a good backup on the Titans.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State
A+ Grade
- Rashad Greene is a steal. Great pick by the Jaguars as Jacksonville adding Greene as a slot receiver.
Oakland Raiders: Ben Heeney, MLB, Kansas
B- Grade
- Ben Heeney is undersized. He's an effective tackler but he struggles in zone coverage. The reason Oakland didn't get a C grade is because Heeney will do well as a backup to Curtis Lofton.
Washington Redskins: Martell Spaight, 3-4 MLB, Arrkansas
B Grade
- Washington needed a 3-4 middle linebacker for depth. This is a nice pick.
Chicago Bears: Adrian Amos, FS, Penn State
B Grade
- Adrian Amos provides incredible value early in the fifth round. Great pick by Chicago.
Minnesota Vikings: MyCole Pruitt, TE, Southern Illinois
A Grade
- Kyle Rudolph has durability issues at times. MyCole Pruitt will be a good insurance policy if Rudolph doesn't recover from his injury.
New York Giants: Mykkyle Thompson, FS, Texas
B Grade
- New York needed a safety. This wasn't the best player available though.
Miami Dolphins: Bobby McCain, CB, Memphis
B- Grade
- Miami needs a new cornerback. McCain can cover. The one downside is he's a nickel corner at best.
Minnesota Vikings: Stefon Diggs, WR, Maryland
A+ Grade
- Minnesota gets Stefon Diggs. The Vikings did an awesome job finding a slot receiver early in the fifth round.
Green Bay Packers: Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA
A+ Grade
- Green Bay realized that Brett Hundley was too good to pass on at this point. Hundley will be an awesome backup to Aaron Rodgers and may start when Rodgers retires if he can remain on this roster for 5 years.
New Orleans Saints: Davis Tull, 3-4 LOLB, Tennessee Chattanooga
A+ Grade
- Davis Tull is a good 3-4 left outside linebacker. Tull can be an effective backup behind Junior Gallette.
Miami Dolphins: Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State
A+ Grade
- Miami needs a running back. Jay Ajayi fell this far because of a knee injury. Despite this, Ajayi has excellent ball carrier vision and was my top ranked running back after Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon.
Miami Dolphins: Cedric Thompson, FS, Minnesota
B Grade
- Miami could use a free safety for depth behind Louis Delmas. This is a solid pick.
Indianapolis Colts: David Parry, 3-4 RE, Stanford
B Grade
- David Parry can play 3-4 right end, 3-4 nose tackle, and 3-4 left end. His versatility is a huge asset.
New York Jets: Jarvis Harrison, LG, Texas A&M
B Grade
- The Jets moved Willie Colon from right guard to left guard. The Jets also moved James Carpenter from left guard to right guard. If the Jets are going to make poor choices like that at the guard position than depth is needed.
San Diego Chargers: Kyle Emmanuel, 3-4 LOLB, North Dakota State
B Grade
- San Diego needs a second pass rusher. Kyle Emmanuel had 10 sacks at North Dakota State.
New Orleans Saints: Tyeler Davison, 3-4 LE, Fresno State
A- Grade
- I had the Saints going with Tyeler Davison in my 2015 NFL Mock Draft. Good pick by the Saints.
Buffalo Bills: Karlos Williams, RB, Florida State
B Grade
- Karlos Williams can be a good red zone back that can take some carries of of LeSean McCoy. He's not a guy to start though.
Miami Dolphins: Tony Lippett, WR, Michigan State
A Grade
- Tony Lippett has the versatility to play wide receiver or cornerback. That's why he's a good pick at this spot.
Cincinnati Bengals: C.J. Uzomah, TE, Auburn
D Grade
- Cincinnati needed another tight end. This felt like a reach though.
Arizona Cardinals: Shaquille Riddick, 3-4 LOLB, West Virginia
F Grade
- I'm not sure how Riddick will fit in with Arizona. West Virginia's pass rusher is more of a run stuffer that can execute tackles. I think Riddick will have trouble transitioning to a 3-4 which is why I hate this pick.
Arizona Cardinals: J.J. Nelson, WR, UAB
A Grade
- J.J. Nelson is one of the best kick returns. Arizona gets an A because Nelson can contribute on special teams.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Jesse James, TE, Penn State
B Grade
- Pittsburgh had 3 scouts look at James. I had the Steelers taking James in round 6 since this was a guy the Steelers wanted. Good job getting him Pittsburgh.
Oakland Raiders: Neiron Ball, ROLB, Florida
D Grade
- Neiron Ball is a backup left outside linebacker. Ball can play special teams which is the only thing keeping this grade from being an F.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kenny Bell, WR, Nebraska
B Grade
- Kenny Bell could be a good slot receiver. There were better receivers available, but you cannot fault this pick too much.
Dallas Cowboys: Ryan Russell, LE, Purdue
B Grade
- Ryan Russell did a good job playing both right end and left end at Purdue. Dallas liked Ryan Russell and is hoping he becomes another Anthony Spencer.
Denver Broncos: Lorenzo Doss, CB, Tulane
C Grade
- Lorenzo Doss will likely play either a quarter, dime, or nickel role at cornerback. Either way, I have mixed feelings about this pick.
San Francisco 49ers: Bradley Pinion, P, Clemson
B Grade
- San Francisco drafts a punter. Pinion left Clemson early. Punter's should stay in school for 4 years. Pinion got lucky.
New England Patriots: Joe Cardona, LS, Navy
Bill Belichick Eating Wings and Getting Hammered At Hooters Grade
- Joe Cardona is a long snapper for Navy. I'm still amazed that teams are drafting long snappers. Besides if Belichick wanted to draft a long snapper, he should have drafted the Texas long snapper who served his country in Iraq. I know the Texas long snapper is 34-years-old, but his story is a great feel good story.
New Orleans Saints: Damian Swann, CB, Georgia
B Grade
- Damian Swann will thrive as a dime cornerback. Right now he has to start out in the dime and work his way up the depth chart.
Detroit Lions: Michael Burton, FB, Rutgers
D Grade
- Michael Burton is a terrible selection. He's not even the best fullback left.
Carolina Panthers: David Mayo, LOLB, Texas State
C Grade
- Carolina needs a left outside linebacker. I guess this pick is okay.
Seattle Seahawks: Tye Smith, CB, Towson
D Grade
- There were better small school corners available. Tye Smith better start out as a quarter or dime cornerback.
Baltimore Ravens: Nick Boyle, TE, Delaware
A Grade
- Nick Boyle will join Maxx Williams as a #2 tight end across from Williams in Baltimore. I love the pairing of Maxx Williams and Nick Boyle in Baltimore since Joe Flacco played college at Delaware.
Kansas City Chiefs: D.J. Alexander, 3-4 MLB, Oregon State
B Grade
- Kansas City needs a 3-4 middle linebacker. Adding D.J. Alexander here is a solid pick.
Kansas City Chiefs: James O'Shaughnessy, TE, Illinois State
B Grade
- Kansas City adds a tight end for depth. James O'Shaughnessy had 9 receiving touchdowns in 2014.
Carolina Panthers: Cameron Artis-Payne, RB, Auburn
B Grade
- Carolina needs a running back for depth now that DeAngelo Williams is gone. Cameron Artis-Payne is a good #2 running back at this point.
Houston Texans: Keith Mumphery, WR, Michigan State
D Grade
- Keith Humphrey could be a solid depth receiver. I doubt he becomes an effective starter.
Baltimore Ravens: Robert Meyers, RG, Tennessee State
B Grade
- Both of Baltimore's starting offensive guards enter contract years. Robert Meyers is one of the better run blocking right guards in the NFL Draft, and may be worth grooming behind starter Marshall Yanda.
