2015 NFL Draft Results

Round 6

Boston College center Andy Gallik is an effective pass blocker and an underrated sleeper.

  1. Tennessee Titans: Deiontrez Mount, 3-4 LOLB, Louisville F Grade

Deiontrez Mount is not a draftable prospect. Mount was projected to go undrafted. Terrible way to kick off round 6 for the Titans.

  2. New England Patriots: Matthew Wells, LOLB, Mississippi State D Grade

Matthew Wells is a good special teams tackler. He might be able to contribute as a backup 4-3 left outside linebacker for depth as well.

  3. Oakland Raiders: Max Valles, LOLB, Virginia A Grade

Max Valles is kind of a bargain. Great pick by the Raiders.

  4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State A+ Grade

The Jaguars got a second round prospect in the sixth round. Jacksonville could not pass on him because the value for Bennett in round 6 was too good to ignore.

  5. Seattle Seahawks: Kyshoen Jarrett, SS, Virginia Tech D Grade

Kysheon Jarrett gives Washington depth at safety. Jarrett is still a reach though.

  6. Washington Redskins: Tevin Mitchel, CB, Arkansas D Grade

Tevin Mitchel is a seventh round prospect. He does give Washington depth at cornerback.

  7. Chicago Bears: Tayo Fabuluje, RT, TCU A- Grade

Tayo Fabuluje played left tackle at TCU. He has the size of a right tackle. Fabuluje will probably move over to right tackle with Chicago lacking a true starter at right tackle.

  8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kaelin Clay, WR, Utah C Grade

Kaelin Clay could be another solid receiver. I don't understand why Tampa is adding fourth receiver when there is a clear need on defense.

  9. Minnesota Vikings: Tyrus Thompson, LT, Oklahoma B Grade

Tyurs Thompson played left tackle at Oklahoma. Thompson gives you depth at left tackle and is a good backup behind Matt Kalil.

  10. New York Giants: Geremy Davis, WR, Connecticut D Grade

The Giants can find a better receiver than Geremy Davis. I'm surprised that the Giants settled for Davis despite his 6-2 216 lb frame.

  11. New Orleans Saints: Evan Spencer, WR, Ohio State D Grade

Evan Spencer played next to Devin Smith at Ohio State. The fact that Ohio State won the College Football Playoff is what saves this from being an F grade.

  12. Buffalo Bills: Tony Steward, 3-4 MLB, Clemson F Grade

I'm not sure where Steward will play at 3-4 middle linebacker. He's a 4-3 guy and will have trouble adjusting to this new scheme.

  13. Cleveland Browns: Charles Gaines, CB, Louisville C- Grade

Cleveland already has Joe Haden and Tramon Williams as starters. Justin Gilbert will remain in the nickel after being the 8th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Charles Gaines will be a dime cornerback at best.

Gaines provides great value here. I just don't see why you get a dime cornerback when you can draft a starting tight end or a third string quarterback for depth.

  14. San Francisco 49ers: Ian Silberman, RT, Boston College D Grade

Ian Silberman played right tackle at Boston College. There is talk Silberman may move inside to right guard. If drafting Silberman was the 49ers plan to replace Mike Iupati, then clearly they screwed up.

  15. Philadelphia Eagles: JaCorey Shepherd, CB, Kansas F Grade

Philadelphia already got a corner. I don't understand why they reached for Shepherd here.

  16. San Diego Chargers: Darius Philon, 3-4 LE, Arkansas F Grade

Darius Philon is undersized and he played 4-3 defensive tackle weighing only 272 lbs. Anyone that drafted Philon was going to get an F grade.

  17. Minnesota Vikings: B.J. Dubose, DT, Louisville A- Grade

B.J. Dubose has the versatility to be a 4-3 defensive tackle or a 3-4 defensive end. Good pick by Minnesota to add some depth at defensive tackle.

  18. Buffalo Bills: Nick O'Leary, TE, Florida State A Grade

Nick O'Leary is an awesome pick. He will do a great job as a #2 tight end across from Charles Clay.

  19. Cleveland Browns: Malcolm Johnson, TE, Mississippi State C+ Grade

Cleveland needed a tight end. This pick felt like a reach.

  20. Philadelphia Eagles: Randall Evans, CB, Kansas State D Grade

Evans will be a special teams player and a quarter cornerback as the #5 cornerback on the Eagles. I'm not sure if that's what you want if you draft a cornerback in the sixth round.

  21. Cincinnati Bengals: Derron Smith, FS, Fresno State A Grade

Derron Smith is an upgrade over Reggie Nelson. Excellent pick by the Bengals.

  22. Cleveland Browns: Randall Telfair, TE, USC B Grade

Randall Telfair is an upgrade over Malcolm Johnson. That's why this pick gets a solid B grade.

  23. Pittsburgh Steelers: Leterrius Walton, NT, Central Michigan A Grade

Pittsburgh needed a nose tackle for depth. Leterrius Walton went to Central Michigan. Back in 2010, Antonio Brown was drafted 4 spots earlier at 195 and he went to Central Michigan too.

  24. Detroit Lions: Quandre Diggs, CB, Texas C Grade

Detroit needed a boundary or field cornerback that can cover #1 or #2 receivers more than a nickel corner. That's why I don't understand this pick.

  25. St. Louis Rams: Bud Sasser, WR, Missouri A Grade

I like this pick. Bud Sasser is a gem in the rough that got undercooked when playing next to Dorial Green-Beckham at Missouri. Sasser stepped up and became the #1 receiver for the Tigers in 2014 so this is a good pick.

  26. New England Patriots: A.J. Darby, TE, Arkansas D Grade

New England already has Rob Gronkowski, Tim Wright, and Scott Chandler. If they took Ben Koyack or Casey Pierce that would be one thing. A.J. Darby out of Arkansas feels like a reach here which is why the Patriots got a D grade here.

  27. Denver Broncos: Darius Kilgo, NT, Maryland B Grade

Denver switched to a 3-4 defense. Denver had to take a nose tackle.

  28. Baltimore Ravens: Darren Waller, WR, Georgia Tech A+ Grade

Darren Waller is 6-5 241 lbs. He's the biggest receiver in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he ran a 4.41. Unlike Dorial Green-Beckham there are no character issues with Waller.

  29. Indianapolis Colts: Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State C Grade

Josh Robinson can compete with Vick Ballard for the the third string running back job. I cannot see Robinson developing into the future starting running back.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Aaron Ripkowski, FB, Oklahoma D Grade

There were better fullbacks available. I was disappointed with this pick.

  31. Indianapolis Colts: Amarlo Herrera, 3-4 MLB, Georgia A Grade

Amarlo Herrera is a more consistent tackler than Ramik Wilson. The Colts already have 2 proven 3-4 middle linebackers. Herrera provides amazing depth which is why the Colts got an A grade for taking him.

  32. Tennessee Titans: Andy Gallik, C, Boston College A+ Grade

Brian Schwenke is talented, but has durability issues at center. Andy Gallik is an outstanding pass blocker, and he will do wonders if Schwenke gets injured again. Great steal by the Titans with this pick.

  33. Seattle Seahawks: Obum Gwacham, ROLB, Oregon State D Grade

Might be a good replacement to Bruce Irvin. Gwacham played 4-3 right end, but will move to right outside linebacker regardless of whether he plays in a 4-3 or a 3-4.

  34. Green Bay Packers: Christian Ringo, 3-4 RE, Louisiana Lafayette C Grade

Green Bay gets a 5 technique player for depth. Solid pick here.

  35. Houston Texans: Rashard Cliett, 3-4 MLB, South Florida C Grade

Rashard Cliett is a solid pick. Houston should not have waited this long to take a 3-4 middle linebacker.

  36. Pittsburgh Steelers: Anthony Chickillo, 3-4 ROLB, Miami FL A Grade

I like this pick. I think Anthony Chickillo has a better chance of succeeding than Alvin Dupree.

  37. Green Bay Packers: Kennard Backman, TE, UAB C Grade

Green Bay needed a tight end. They could have done a little better than Kennard Backman.

  38. Seattle Seahawks: Krist Jan Sokoli, DT, Buffalo A Grade

Seattle added a jedi for a defensive tackle in Krist Jan Sokoli. Seriously Krist Jan Sokoli sounds like the name of a Star Wars character. Hopefully Krist Jan Sokoli can use the force to defeat interior offensive linemen.

  39. St. Louis Rams: Cody Wichmann, RG, Fresno State D Grade

Cody Wichmann is a good value pick at this point. With Brandon Washington and Andrew Donnal already on the roster at right guard, I'm not sure Wichmann makes the Rams' final roster.

  40. Houston Texans: Christian Covington, 3-4 RE, Rice A Grade

Christian Covington is an awesome pick here. Great player to groom behind Jared Crick at the 3-4 right end spot.

  41. Kansas City Chiefs: Rakeem Nunez-Roaches, 3-4 LE, Southern Mississippi C Grade

Rakeem Nunez-Roaches got an invite to the Senior Bowl. I'm not sure how he will do transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4.
