Draft Order NFL: The Oakland Raiders have two first round picks in 2020.

Josiah Ray's 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Debut

Round 1 Picks 17-32

Josiah Ray Last Updated: August 17, 2019.

  1. Minnesota Vikings: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

Losing Benwikere and Waynes next year to FA, and not having alot of salary cap I think Vikings will need to add to the secondary. They still have Rhodes and Hughes, but adding Diggs a physical CB gives them depth.

  2. Kansas City Chiefs: Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah

Jaylon is a physical CB at 6'1 he can match up with the big WRs in the AFC West like Sutton or Williams but he also has fluid hips and good speed, KC can put him opposite Fuller as they look to improve their defense.

  3. Pittsburgh Steelers: Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri

A pacey tight end thats got solid hands and a athletic frame, he has 881 yards and 17 touchdowns in his 2 years starting. Ben signed a 2 year contract this offseason so they wont be in the market for a top qb in the draft, they'll be looking to stack the team around him, especially with Mason Rudolph the heir apparent, with Devin Bush being drafted last year they really have few holes overall so I think Albert O is a nice pick.

  4. Green Bay Packers: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

The Packers bring in a elite wr for Rodgers twilight years, pairing Lamb with Adams with Graham in the middle is a hard matchup, especially with the Packers facing Chicago twice loading the offense is necessary.

  5. Baltimore Ravens: Paddy Fisher, LB, Northwestern

Baltimore never replaced Mosley with Onwusar and board as the current starters so the ravens turn to Paddy Fisher the imposing linebacker that stands at 6'3 245 has had amazing production in college so far with 227 tackles in 2 years along with 8 forced fumbles, he can use refining on his tackling but his athleticism and football IQ makes him tough to turn down at this point in the draft.

  6. Dallas Cowboys: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

Zeke is wanting a large contract, and jones is on record saying you don't need a running back to win, that makes me think Zeke wont be around much longer in Dallas and while Jones says they dont NEED a rb to win, they will want a replacement, with such a loaded draft overall and a loaded RB class a lot of these guys will fall so the Cowboys can get the best rb in the draft late in the 1st, if they can get a solid pick for Zeke in a trade this offseason that would probably complete Jerrys wishlist.

  7. Los Angeles Chargers: J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State

The Chargers are also in a similar situation to Dallas with Gordon holding out and likely them not meeting his demands. While Ekelar and Jackson have been good in small usage so far, I'm sure they want a bellcow back to replace Gordon. Dobbins has done it all at Ohio State and can be the thunder to Ekelars lightning, especially important to keep the run game going with Rivers getting older.

  8. Los Angeles Rams: DeAndre Swift, RB, Georgia

Gurley might have a career ending injury and with the depth this team has, and how its been built around a elite back, I think they have no choice but to fill that void. Swift is swift as his name suggests, hes very fast and elusive hes a one cut and go running back who has the potential to take it to the house every time he touches the ball, a versatile east west runner hes one of my favorite backs in the NCAA this season. He'd be a great fit in a McVay offense

  9. New England Patriots: Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

Here we go, another draft, another qb being projected to the Patriots. Brady is now 42 and will be 43 next season i think it would be wise for new England to look at a replacement sooner rather than later. Fromm is very smart, makes good reads, and can go through progressions well. A strong locker room presence and leader hed fit right in at New England, he probably sits next year maybe even the year after, but New England will be able to use a option on him due to him being a 1st round pick. I don't see Brady playing more than 2 years so the time is now to get his replacement.

  10. Oakland Raiders: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn

Oakland has Hankins locked in as a starter at DT but next to him they have Ellis and Hurst. Brown is versatile and can play all along the line, so oakland gets him and can fill in anywhere, drafting brown means the raiders can line up with a young DL consisting of Ferrell, Hankins, Brown, Epenasa, but a DL with potential to be the best in the league soon, not to mention having Hurst rotating in along with Key for depth.

  11. Denver Broncos: Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU

Denver has had ILB issues since Trevathan left and Fangio loves pacey athletic linebackers. Denver currently doesnt really have any and are making do with Davis and Jewell but I imagine Fangio wants to get his guys in their soon, Phillips may appear to be a reach at this point however he fits the fangio profile to a T, Denver has loads of depth on the DL, and the secondary looks good as long as Harris stays next year (which they have the cap to make happen if they want) that means that the 2 biggest issues on the team is WR and ILB, Denver has alot of young WRs like Winfree, Hamilton, Sutton, etc so I feel a star linebacker here is the best move, while Denver can address wr either in FA or in the 2nd or 3rd rounds(also they have the Steelers 3rd so that helps).

  12. Philadelphia Eagles: Shyheim Carter, CB, Alabama

Carter is a versatile DB that can play any position in the secondary, great hands and awareness, ability to play zone or man coverage is exactly what Philly needs. Malcolm Jenkins is going to be 32 and despite having potential stars like Darby and Jones, neither have solidified their positions. Carter can come in day 1 and be a star for this team allowing the rest of the secondary to play off him.

  13. New Orleans Saints: Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma

Murray was a tackling machine for OU with 155 last year along with 12.5 for a loss. New Orleans linebackers are solid but murray can take this unit to the next level.

  14. Cleveland Browns: Yetur Gross-Matos, LE, Penn State

While Cleveland has Vernon and Garrett they load up the DL with gross-matos, the 6'5 265 pound defensive end had 54 tackles last year along with a insane 20 for a loss. Cleveland brings him in and has one of if not the best DLs in the league.

  15. Atlanta Falcons: Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin

Alex Mack has been the driving force in atlanta for years now but he will be 33 in November, Atlanta added 2 first rounders to the OL last year but has the depth and talent across their roster they can continue that trend, Biadasz is a huge reason as to the dominant OL in Wisconsin the past few years and the production of Jonathan Taylor. The Falcons will hope he continues that for Devonta Freeman and a powerful offense that I have projected to go to the superbowl.

  16. Indianapolis Colts: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

The Colts are the best team in the NFL. They have a young OL with loads of talent spearheaded by Quentin Nelson who is on his way to canton barring a freak injury. They have stars all over the roster and depth everywhere, in fact I don't see a single hole on that roster, which begs the question what will the Colts do in the draft?

I think despite Mack being great, they load up the RBs by bringing in former #1 overall recruit Najee Harris from Alabama, Harris is very underrated because hes sat behind guys for years at bama however this is finally the year he shines especially with Trey Sanders out for the year it means hes the bellcow all day long for Alabama. He only has 178 carries in college (for 1153 yards along with 7 TDs) which means going into the NFL he will be fresh and ready to go, standing at 6'2 230 hes a bigger back, Frank Reich is a genius offensive mind and I would love to see what he can do with Harris and Mack in that backfield with Nelson clearing lanes for them.
