Mark Sciubba's 2019 NFL Mock Draft: 7 Rounds

Round 2

Mark Sciubba follow @MarkSciubbaDoe Last Updated: April 23, 2019.

  1. Arizona Cardinals: Dexter Lawrence, DL, Clemson

The Cardinals take the best defensive player available. Lawrence is a freak athlete for his size and is a dominate run stopper who also has gives you some in the pass rush. He gives the cardinals a badly needed foundation piece in the trenches and could help mold the whole complexion of the Cardinals defense. He is my 13th overall player.

  2. Indianapolis Colts: Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson

The Colts get a playmaker for their secondary early in the second. Mullen is my 28th overall player in the class.

  3. Oakland Raiders: Jachai Polite, EDGE, Florida

The Raiders get a speed guy on the edge to help rebuild a non existent pass rush. Polite is my 44th overall player.

  4. San Francisco 49ers: Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia

The 49ers need more playmakers at WR. Ridley is a stud route runner and would help build the core that Jimmy G needs. He is my 58th overall player in the class.

  5. New York Giants: Dalton Risner, OT/G, Kansas State

The Giants O-line is still a mess. They have multiple spots that need upgrading. Risner can play all across the line and be a the solid lineman the Giants need desperately.

  6. Jacksonville Jaguars: Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

The Jags get a guy with home run speed. Campbell is a guy with the right coaching and development could be an elite WR in the NFL. With bad coaching he'll probably just be a gadget guy. He is my 23rd overall player in the class

  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Yodny Cajuste, OT, West Virginia

Tampa Bay grabs a much needed starting tackle for Jameis. Donavan Smith's new contract is one they will probably be looking to get out of sooner rather than later. Cajuste should be a starting tackle in the NFL if he can stay away from injury. He is my 33rd overall player.

  8. Buffalo Bills: Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State

The Bills get an athletic monster for Josh Allen. Butler is a perfect match with his deep speed and large catch radius to work with Josh Allens giant yet inaccurate at times arm.

  9. Denver Broncos: Garrett Bradbury, C, North Carolina State

Bradbury is thought of very highly in NFL circles. Denver needs to sure up the O line for Joe Flacco and beyond.

  10. Cincinnati Bengals: Tre Lamar, LB, Clemson

Cincinatti continues to get younger and faster on the defensive side of the Ball with Lamar. Preston Brown is not a long-term answer at middle linebacker despite being re-signed by Cincinnati.

  11. Detroit Lions: Jaylon Ferguson, EDGE, Louisiana Tech

Detroit's pass rush is a total question mark. Ferguson was a sack machine in C-USA last year and is the type of athlete Matt Patricia needs.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Dre'Mont Jones, DL, Ohio State

Green Bay gets a big piece for their defense who should be much improved this year. Jones is someone who would go first round if the DL class wasn't so stacked.

  13. Atlanta Falcons: Kaleb McGary, OT, Washington

Kaleb Mcgary has been sky rocketing up boards. If it wasn't for medical concerns I would have mocked him in the first and he could go there on draft night.

  14. Washington Redskins: Kelvin Harmon, WR, North Carolina State

The Redskins get a weapon for their new franchise QB with a great player with speed concerns. Haskins to Harmon could be something Washington fans look forward to hearing down the road.

  15. Carolina Panthers: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, CB/S, Florida

The Panthers need to get better in the secondary if they ever wanna go back to a Super Bowl with Cam. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson can play cornerback or safety with his versatility.

  16. Miami Dolphins: Dawson Knox, TE, Ole Miss

Dolphins get another weapon to develop while waiting on another draft to get their QB. Two former Ole Miss Rebels for Miami so far.

  17. Cleveland Browns: Taylor Rapp, S, Washington

Putting Rapp as the FS of that Browns defense would be too good to pass up here. Rapp played with Budda Baker, plus the Browns did lose Jabrill Peppers at strong safety. I love Rapp's attitude which is why I got no problem with mocking him to Cleveland with their first pick in the second round.

  18. Minnesota Vikings: Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss

Minnesota takes some more much needed offensive line help with a the tackle who might have the highest ceiling in the class. This is a great value pick for Minnesota at 50.

  19. Tennessee Titans: Brian Burns, EDGE, Florida State

I think there should be a lot of questions on how Burns will translate to the NFL. How will he do when he's not the fastest and most athletic guy every down. Can he really put on the weight teams what or not? Titans will be a perfect spot for him with they're defensive minded coach.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina

Deebo Samuel would be a stud in the Steelers offense. Very similar build wise to current Steelers WR Juju Smith-Schuster. Deebo has more juice in his speed and brings experience being a guy used all over the offense. Deebo really is wide receiver who turns into a running back with the ball in his hands.

  21. Philadelphia Eagles: David Montgomery, RB, Iowa State

The Eagles haven't been able to find that true consistent difference maker at RB. They fill that hole here with a versatile back from Iowa State.

  22. Houston Texans: Chris Lindstrom, G, Boston College

Houston needs to fix their line for Deshaun Watson. They get a smart tough guard here who's gotten some first round buzz.

  23. Houston Texans: Bobby Evans, OT, Oklahoma

Texans double down on improving their O Line. I do not trust Matt Kalil, Julie'n Davenport, or Martinas Rankin as a blindside, so they bring in one more body to compete for that left tackle job.

  24. New England Patriots: Diontae Johnson, WR, Toledo

Another one of my favorite sleepers Johnson reminds me a little of Antonio Brown on tape. The Patriots are in desperate need of some new targets for Brady.

  25. Philadelphia Eagles: Elgton Jenkins, C/G, Mississippi State

All the Eagles' marbles are in the Carson Wentz basket. Shoring up the line around him would be a good idea.

  26. Dallas Cowboys: Gerald Willis III, DL, Miami FL

Cowboys gets another super talented DT who falls this far because of the strength of the class. Gerald Willis III has the ability to start right away for Dallas.

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Chase Winovich, EDGE, Michigan

The Colts get a guy who should fit in perfectly with Andrew Luck and the Colts defense which needs an improved pass rush. Winovich seems like someone who can come in and bolster the Colts' defense.

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin

The Chargers get an offensive lineman to protect for Rivers and who ever his successor will be. A starting right tackle is also needed which is why Edwards makes a lot of sense here.

  29. Kansas City Chiefs: Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama

Chiefs make more fixes to one of the worst defenses in football last year. Deionte Thompson provides fantastic value here and gives Kansas City a safety next to Tyrann Mathieu.

  30. New Orleans Saints: Caleb Wilson, TE, UCLA

The Saints get Brees another weapon. Sean Payton gets the quality TE they've lacked since trading Jimmy Graham.

  31. Kansas City Chiefs: Bobby Okereke, LB, Stanford

Bobby Okereke is a tackle machine. The Chiefs continue to improve their lackluster defense.

  32. New England Patriots: Jaquon Johnson, S, Miami FL

Johnson is the best safety in the class if you ask me. Pats get a steal here.
