Mark Sciubba's 2019 NFL Mock Draft: 7 Rounds

Round 7

Mark Sciubba follow @MarkSciubbaDoe Last Updated: April 23, 2019.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Shareef Miller, EDGE, Penn State

The Bucs get a pass rusher for the open competition likely coming at all levels of the defense. Miller is explosive off the edge and is a great value pick this late in the seventh round.

  2. Kansas City Chiefs: Jordan Brailford, EDGE, Oklahoma State

Chiefs again just get the best defensive player available. Brailford had success against Risner so he may work out in Kansas City and could even push another former Oklahoma State Cowboy named Emmanuel Ogbah.

  3. New York Jets: Xavier Crawford, CB, Central Michigan

The Jets get some corner depth and a possible gem late. Xavier Crawford is a gem at this point in the seventh round.

  4. Oakland Raiders: Jordan Miller, CB, Washington

Miller is very underrated in my opinion. He was a big part of a great defense and checks the boxes for me of a a guy who's gonna be a player at the next level.

  5. Pittsburgh Steelers: Cole Tracy, K, LSU

The Steelers get Tracy to push Chris Boswell who had a roller coaster ride of a year in 2018. Tracy is my top kicker in this class.

  6. Houston Texans: Greg Dortch, WR, Wake Forest

Houston spends thinking hoping to find another target and return specialist. Greg Dortch is a nice target that Houston can add for depth.

  7. Cleveland Browns: George Aston, FB, Pittsburgh

The Browns get the best FB in the class for whenever they want to use one on offense. Aston could be Cleveland's best fullback since Lawrence Vickers.

  8. Chicago Bears: Ryan Connelly, LB, Wisconsin

The Bears add to the best LB core in the NFL. Ryan Connelly is the best linebacker available.

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Jalen Jelks, EDGE, Oregon

Jalen Jelks is another love or hate player in the draft. I think he'll seriously need to get stronger to ever be a great NFL player.

  10. Detroit Lions: P.J. Johnson, DL, Arizona

In the 7th round a lot of teams will grab what's left of the deepest position groups in the draft, DL and TE hoping to get a steal.

  11. Buffalo Bills: John Battle, S, LSU

Battle is another guy I don't get why the NFL isn't buzzing about more. The Bills go to DBU and get a giant steal.

  12. Green Bay Packers: Stanley Morgan Jr., WR, Nebraska

The Packers get the only 1,000 yard receiver in Nebraska history. They also draft the son of former Patriots wide receiver Stanley Morgan who was a favorite for Drew Bledsoe way back when.

  13. Washington Redskins: Kendall Joseph, LB, Clemson

Washington Redskins take the best player available from a blue blood school. Kendall Joseph is a bargain at this point.

  14. Buffalo Bills: Kron Crump, LB, Arizona State

The Bills get their special team ace. Kron Crump is easily one of the top 5 special teams tacklers in this class.

  15. Detroit Lions: Trey Pipkins, OT, Sioux Falls

The Lions get a tackle who is a great practice squad candidate. Trey Pipkins could be a backup to Taylor Decker at left tackle, but will most likely be a practice squad guy.

  16. Atlanta Falcons: Gerri Green, LB, Mississippi State

Gerri Green is another player flying under the radar due to his college teammates being top players. Green could give Atlanta more depth at linebacker.

  17. New Orlean Saints: Drue Tranquill, LB, Notre Dame

The Saints get some depth and special teams help. The goal for most teams in round 7.

  18. New York Giants: Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota

Same story for the Giants who get a special teams and depth player. Cashman can be a SAM linebacker.

  19. Miami Dolphins: Joe Giles-Harris, LB, Duke

Giles-Harris is an interesting prospect. He took home plenty of accolades in the ACC but questions about his every down ability are out there. I think he's like Preston Brown of the Bengals.

  20. Miami Dolphins: Ben Bredeson, G, Michigan

Building up the offensive line for the next few years is a must with the Dolphins plan. Bredeson was a left guard at Michigan.

  21. Oakland Raiders: Derwin Gray, OT, Maryland

Derwin Gray here is an absolute steal and could be a starter on an offensive line lacking talent. He can push the 2018 offensive tackles Oakland drafted for a starting jo. He's got the ability to do that if he applies himself in Raiders' training camp.

  22. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jimmy Moreland, CB,

Jaguar cap situation is a disaster they need to get younger and cheaper all over the defense. Jimmy Moreland is one of the better FCS corners you can obtain late in the draft.

  23. Denver Broncos: KeeSean Johnson, WR, Fresno State

The Broncos get a solid late round prospect who can be a solid depth receiver and possibly develop into a starter. KeeSean Johnson took over as the go-to-guy at wide receiver for Fresno State in 2018.

  24. Chicago Bears: Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson

The Bears get the most well known slot receiver in the draft. Maybe Renfrow can be the NFL's version of Rudy in the Windy City.

  25. New England Patriots: Sione Takitaki, LB, BYU

Takitaki is the type of athlete who Bill Belichick has had great success molding into great players. New England can draft him as a backup to current BYU starter Kyle Van Noy.

  26. Indianapolis Colts: Kingsley Keke, DT, Texas A&M

Indy gets a steal late with the ultra athletic defensive lineman who has a tweener body, but I think could successfully flow around the defensive line and succeed. Kingsley Keke played next to Daylon Mack at Texas A&M to form a good defensive tackle tandem.

  27. Dallas Cowboys: Johnnie Dixon, WR, Ohio State

Cowboys get another big time speed receiver. The team captain of Ohio State works here as he pushes Noah Brown for a roster spot.

  28. Los Angeles Chargers: Lester Cotton, G, Alabama

The Chargers get Cotton who can dominate in the run game but needs to improve in pass protection. He gives the Chargers more insurance and depth at guard in case Lamp or Feeney gets injured in 2019.

  29. New England Patriots: Terry Godwin, WR, Georgia

New England gets a steal here at a position where they need more players. New England has taken lots of players out of Georgia in recent years, so you have to think they add another Georgia Bulldog at some point.

  30. New Orleans Saints: Montreal Hartage, CB, Northwestern

Hartage is a solid cornerback. Many think he lacks the speed to be a full-time starter. New Orleans has lots of cornerbacks, so they can stash Hartage for depth this late in the draft.

  31. New York Giants: Fred Johnson, G, Florida

The giants grab an offensive lineman with big time potential. Johnson plays guard but has the size to be a franchise tackle.

  32. New England Patriots: Jake Bailey, P, Stanford

The Patriots get the top punter in the draft late to see if he can win the starting job. I'm interested to see how this competition turns out.

  33. Minnesota Vikings: Albert Huggins, DL, Clemson

Albert Huggins is the last of the players who fly under the radar based off their teammates. Minnesota gets him for depth at defensive tackle.

  34. Arizona Cardinals: Darryl Williams, G, Mississipi State

The Cardinals get Kyler Murray a solid guard. Darryl Williams has experience at both guard spots.

  35. Arizona Cardinals: Antoine Wesley, WR, Texas Tech

Kingsberry brings in a receiver who already knows his system. He's also a guy Kliff may have recruited to Texas Tech.

  36. Minnesota Vikings: Cody Thompson, WR, Toledo

Vikings get their special teams ace. That's Thompson's strength after going from a strong year in 2017 to a down year in 2018.

  37. Los Angeles Rams: Malcolm Pridgeon, G, Ohio State

The Rams get a guy I love from an upside prospect. He may push for a guard spot.

  38. New England Patriots: B.J. Autry, Jacksonville State, OT/G, Jacksonville State

B.J. Autry is a big physical left guard who dominates on tape. He has the wingspan to move to offensive tackle.

  39. Washington Redskins: Josh Oliver, TE, San Jose State

The Redskins grab the highly productive small school Tight End. He provides good depth behind Jordan Reed, and may even take over at tight end if Reed gets injured again.

  40. Arizona Cardinals: Dru Samia, G, Oklahoma

Arizona gets the leader of Oklahoma's offensive line. He played both guard spots in Mobile, but questions about history and strength are why Samia is Mr. Irrelevant in my 2019 NFL Mock Draft.
