Mark Sciubba's 2019 NFL Mock Draft: 7 Rounds
Round 3
Mark Sciubba follow @MarkSciubbaDoe Last Updated: April 23, 2019.
Arizona Cardinals: Michael Deiter, G, Wisconsin
- Cardinals get Kyler Murray some protection and much needed beef to their team by getting Michael Deiter. Arizona has a weakness at left guard with Mike Iupati gone.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Vosean Joseph, LB, Florida
- The Steelers defense has been their Achilles heel for too long. Things like Ryan Shaziers injuries were out of their control but their problems go deeper than that. Joseph is one of my favorite sleepers in the class and is the fast and hard hitting LB the Steelers need.
San Francisco 49ers: Jonathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
- The 49ers could and should build up the secondary in this draft. Surrounding Richard Sherman with young talent and it will improve the pass defense and pass rush significantly.
New York Jets: David Sills V, WR, West Virginia
- The Jets get a Mr reliable target for Sam Darnold. Sills does everything well and would be a perfect addition to the Jets offense between the 20s and I'm the red zone.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
- When you watch Daniel Jones throw he has the look of an NFL QB. He also is very athletic and can make plays with his legs. With that being said, there is no way he should go in the first round or even the second. The Jags get him here to develop behind Foles for a year or more likely two.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Rodney Anderson, RB, Oklahoma
- Bruce Arians gets his RB. Anderson if he can stay away from injury would be a star in the right system. He has a great mix of speed, power, and receiving skills and would be an upgrade over everything else the Bucs currently has in their RB room.
Denver Broncos: Ben Powers, G, Oklahoma
- Denver has been rebuilding their line for years now and it's still not a great unit. They add to it to make sure Joe Flaaco has every chance to succeed.
Cincinnati Bengals: Julian Love, CB, Notre Dame
- Julian Love shuts down receivers on tape. The only question on him is overall athleticism and size. I think he'll be a good corner in the NFL but I wouldn't leave him on an island against the Julio Jones of the world.
New England Patriots: Alex Bookser, OT, Pittsburgh
- Bookser is a monster in the run game. He's average in pass pro but I still believe he can start at right tackle for an NFL team sooner rather than later.
Buffalo Bills: Miles Sanders, RB, Penn State
- The Bills would be jumping for joy here. They should look for their RB of the future in this draft and Sanders would be it. He's a dynamic back who could make someone like LeSean McCoy tradeable.
Green Bay Packers: T.J. Edwards, LB, Wisconsin
- The Packers continue the overhaul of their roster. They need to collect as much talent as possible and Edwards accomplishes that goal.
Washington Redskins: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama
- The Redskins take a player from their favorite place. Harris is a guy who should contribute and push for a starting job. He'll also get to work out and see how Adrian Peterson prepares which will help elevate him if Derrius Guice isn't ready to play.
Carolina Panthers: Oshane Ximines, EDGE, Old Dominion
- Every year I talk about how the Panthers are wasting something special by not getting some top tier talent playing next to their talented DT combo. They get a guy who has the potential to be that here.
Miami Dolphins: Erik McCoy, C/G, Texas A&M
- Miami gets another big piece in as they continue to prepare for drafting a QB early sometime in the next two years. Taking Erik McCoy bolsters the interior offensive line.
Atlanta Falcons: Germaine Pratt, LB, North Carolina State
- Pratt would be a great fit in Dan Quinn's defense and provides good value here. Pratt gives Atlanta depth at linebacker.
Cleveland Browns: Chuma Edoga, OT, USC
- Cleveland is really only missing that franchise LT on offense. I think Edoga could be that for them with the right coaching.
Minnesota Vikings: Zach Allen, EDGE, Boston College
- Zach Allen is a versatile Defensive lineman, who plays with an attitude and toughness the Vikings covet. Zach Allen would give Minnesota more depth at defensive end.
Tennessee Titans: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, WR, Stanford
- Titans get a big target for Mariota. I love Whiteside as a red zone threat but he also has the route running and speed to be a big time playmaker all over the field.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Sean Bunting, CB, Central Michigan
- The Steelers get a steal here with the fastest rising CB in the draft. Bunting's top 40 hype is real and he's earned it. He's the classic unheralded MAC player who the Steelers steal in the late rounds because other teams sleeping on them. That won't happen here as Bunting is a big time prospect now. Him and Murphy together would give Pittsburgh a bright future at corner.
Kansas City Chiefs: JoeJuan Williams, CB, Vanderbilt
- The Chiefs are the team that popularized and pushed corners like Williams up draft boards a few years ago. They hope they can do that again in taking the big corner out of the SEC.
Baltimore Ravens: Tytus Howard, OT, Alabama State
- The Ravens replenish the Offensive Line which is a must if Lamar Jackson is your QB. Baltimore gets a swing tackle to compliment Ronnie Stanley and Orlando Brown.
Houston Texans: Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame
- Another one of my sleepers who is a sleeper no longer after killing the combine. Boykin can beat DBs with speed, fancy footwork, and just going over top of them.
Chicago Bears: Devin Singletary, RB, Florida Atlantic
- Singletary is a player who perfectly fits Matt Nagy's offensive philosophy. This would be a perfect setting for Singletary to thrive.
Detroit Lions: Nasir Adderley, S, Delaware
- Adderly is another player I think was vastly overrated early in the process. He's a mid round guy and Detroit picks him up here as they look for answers in the secondary.
Indianapolis Colts: Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
- Colts being run by a good GM now does what good teams do. Wait and let a great player fall to them. Oruwaiye would help solidify Indy at corner.
Dallas Cowboys: Mecole Hartman, WR, Georgia
- Dallas goes the speed route. Hartman will be a perfect fit in their run heavy offense.
Los Angeles Chargers: Savion Smith, CB, Alabama
- Savion Smith and Lester Cotton are two very interesting prospects. Both were rock solid for Alabama but have gotten little to no buzz. I have to think teams will target them as safe players.
Seattle Seahawks: Armon Watts, DL, Arkansas
- Watts is stacked at 6'5 300 lbs. He has impressive speed and motor for his size and is a guy who can develop into a star in the NFL.
New York Jets: Terry Beckner Jr., DL, Missouri
- Beckner Jr has some juice coming off the Ball. I think he can be good depth and a situational rusher for the Jets.
Los Angeles Rams: Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia
- Thornhill would be too good to pass on for the Rams here. Putting Thornhill with these cornerbacks would allow him to succeed as a rookie.
New York Giants: Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn
- Jamel Dean was a great player with speed concerns. He quieted those concerns with a strong combine.
Washington Redskins: De'Andre Walker, EDGE, Georgia
- The Redskins add another stud from a top school. They've made it clear that's what they want to do every year.
New England Patriots: T'Von Coney, LB, Notre Dame
- New England gets Coney who could be the present and future for them at linebacker. He could push for a starting spot, but also would thrive in a depth role.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Cameron Smith, LB, USC
- Jaguars add Smith to make sure their defense stays a strength for years to come. Myles Jack enters a contract year, and while re-signing Jack would be nice, it's possible that Smith may have to take Jack's place down the road if Jacksonville cannot re-sign Jack. Even if Jack gets extended, Smith would thrive as a left outside linebacker.
Los Angeles Rams: Dennis Daley, OT, South Carolina
- The Rams' get Jared Goff some protection and a guy for Gurley to run behind. Daley can push for a swing tackle spot.
Carolina Panthers: Lonnie Johnson Jr., CB, Kentucky
- Johnson is a versatile defensive back which is rare for someone as big as him. He can play CB, S or drop down and survive as a sub LB.
New England Patriots: Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo
- Imagine this. The Patriots get a QB for the future who has every physical tool you want in A QB. They could even run him as a TE on some downs to let him get a feel for the speed of the game.
Baltimore Ravens: Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State
- Baltimore replenishes their defense with a rock solid corner. Justin Layne gives Baltimore a future after the team decides to move on from Jimmy Smith.
