Latest News NFL: Los Angeles Rams give up 15th, 43rd, 45th, 76th, 2017 first rounder, and 2017 third rounder to move up for the 1st pick. The Rams also receive a 4th and 6th rounder from the Tennessee Titans in the 2016 NFL Draft.

2016 NFL Mock Draft: 7 Rounds

Round 4

Mark Sciubba Last Updated: April 21, 2016.

  1. Cleveland Browns: Daniel Lasco, RB, California

The Browns continue to build up their offense after letting so many walk.

  2. Cleveland Browns: Nick Vannett, TE, Ohio State

Nick Vannett was a great blocker for Elliott. The two reunite in Cleveland with their GM continuing to use his Moneyball system hoping it will rebuild the NFL's most dysfunctional franchise.

  3. Dallas Cowboys: Alex McCalister, RE, Florida

Dallas gets a situational pass rusher. Dallas may have Joey Bosa and DeMarcus Lawrence after taking Bosa fourth overall in this mock, but Randy Gregory is going to miss the first four games, so Dallas can take McCalister as a situational DE to fill that void until Gregory returns.

  4. San Diego Chargers: Connor McGovern, C, Missouri

Mcgovern also has the ability to back up almost every spot on the OL.

  5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dadi Nicolas, LOLB, Virginia Tech

Jaylon Smith could play LOLB in 2017, but he's gonna sit out his rookie season, which is why the Jaguars should take Nicolas here after taking Smith so they have an immediate starter at LOLB. If Jacksonville lands both Smith and Nicolas, then there's a good chance that Smith develops into Posluzney's eventual successor at MLB while Nicolas plays on the strong side at LOLB.

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Malcolm Mitchell, WR, Georgia

Baltimore has Steve Smith, Kamar Aiken, Breshad Perriman, and Mike Wallace on the roster. Smith will probably retire after 2016 because he considered retirement in 2015. Aiken signed his RFA making him a UFA next season, and Mike Wallace is on a one-year prove it deal while Perriman missed his rookie season with an injury after being the Ravens first round pick last year. Those 4 may be able to start this season, but the Ravens still need to draft a WR for depth that can be a future starter as early as 2017. Mitchell can spend the year learning how to be an NFL receiver from guys like Steve Smith and Mike Wallace.

  7. San Francisco 49ers: Jerrell Adams, TE, South Carolina

The 49ers have drafted 4 Gamecocks in the last three years by selecting Marcus Lattimore, Bruce Ellington, Mike Adams, and Rory Anderson. They also drafted Chris Culliver back in 2011 meaning they've drafted 5 Gamecocks in the last five years. Time for the 49ers to draft this years Gamecock.

  8. Chicago Bears: Jonathan Williams, RB, Arkansas

Jeremy Langford is now the #1 RB with Matt Forte gone. Williams could be Chicago's #2 RB since Ka'Deem Carey is more like a vulture in goal line situations.

  9. Miami Dolphins: Robert Aguayo, K, Florida State

Miami needs a starting kicker. Aguayo is a Day 2 talent projected to go in rounds 2-3, but he may fall to the fourth round, and if he does, Miami needs to grab him.

  10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: John Theus, LT, Georgia

Tampa Bay can draft John Theus here. He's got better footwork than last years second round pick Donovan Smith, who looked awful as Jameis Winston's blindside. Making Theus your new LT and moving Smith inside to a swing guard role where he's a backup guard to both J.R. Sweezy and Ali Marpet seems very beneficial for Tampa Bay.

  11. New York Giants: Rashard Robinson, CB, LSU

The Giants may have Janoris Jenkins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. A nickel corner is still needed, and the Giants got picked apart frequently when calling nickel plays since they didn't have a nickel CB that could develop into a future starter. Robinson is extremely talented, and I could see him taking DRC's job if he can step up when DRC gets injured.

  12. Los Angeles Rams: Charone Peak, WR, Clemson

The Los Angeles Rams have to get a wide receiver for Jared Goff. Charone Peak is a big body and my top target left at this point.

  13. Detroit Lions: Max Tuerk, C, USC

Detroit grabs a center for depth here. Max Tuerk is versatile enough to play all 5 positions on the offensive line, but projects as a center in the NFL. If the Lions cannot get a starting RT across from Reiff, then a depth player on the OL like Tuerk will be needed on Day 3.

  14. New Orleans Saints: D.J. Reader, DT, Clemson

New Orleans gets another defensive tackle for depth. This now gives the Saints John Jenkins, A'Shawn Robinson, the guy I mocked to the Saints at 12, Nick Fairley, and now Reader. Jenkins and Robinson would start, but Fairley would be a situational DT behind Robinson and Reader could come in when Jenkins fatigues.

  15. Los Angeles Rams: Sean Davis, FS, Maryland

I gave the Titans Sean Davis as a depth player on secondary since he can play CB, SS, or FS. The Titans dealt this pick to the Rams in the trade where the Rams moved up to get the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Rams need a starting FS and can fill that need by taking Davis here.

  16. Oakland Raiders: K.J. Dillon, SS, West Virginia

I've seen Karl Joseph mocked to the Raiders in the second round of a lot of mocks. Joseph won't make it to 44 so taking the safety that complimented Joseph at West Virginia in K.J. Dillon who can play SS or FS just like Joseph seems ideal since the Raiders have gone 3 rounds in this mock without a safety.

  17. Atlanta Falcons: Beniquez Brown, LOLB, Mississipi State

Atlanta drafts a developmental LOLB with the versatility to play LB anywhere in Beniquez Brown here. With Lee likely starting at ROLB and Paul Worrilow playing MLB, Atlanta can try putting Courtney Upshaw, Sean Weatherspoon, and Brooks Reid at LOLB. By the time Upshaw, Weatherspoon, and Reid crash and burn, Brown will have one year of experience learning the Falcons team playbook and then could start at LOLB as early as 2017. After Atlanta takes Brown I expect there to be a run on linebackers.

  18. Indianapolis Colts: Kentrell Brothers, 3-4 MLB, Missouri

The Indianapolis Colts get a starter across from D'Qwell Jackson after losing Jerrell Freeman. Brothers is Day 2 prospect that could go in the late second or mid third round, so to get him as a starter in the fourth round for the Colts is a clear steal on their part.

  19. Buffalo Bills: Scooby Wright, 3-4 MLB, Arizona

The Buffalo Bills get Scooby Wright who can play anywhere at LB in the 4-3 or 3-4 with his versatility when healthy. Wright can start across from Preston Brown when the Bills call 3-4 plays, and if the Bills call 4-3 plays, Wright can be a reserve LB with Floyd, Brown, and Lawson as their starting LB's.

  20. New York Jets: Josh Forrest, 3-4 MLB, Kentucky

The Jets brought in Erin Henderson and Bruce Carter to compliment David Harris at MLB in their 3-4 scheme. Neither is a long-term starter and Josh Forrest could develop into a starter. Forrest can develop for a year and play in 2017.

  21. Houston Texans: Jihad Ward, 3-4 RE, Illinois

Jihad Ward may go earlier than this. Ward is a great pick here since he can come in and replace Jared Crick right away.

  22. Washington Redskins: Jack Allen, C, Michigan State

Jack Allen gives Washington an immediate starter at center, which is the one position they need to upgrade on the OL. Allen is someone they could consider on Day 2. In this mock, Allen falls to Washington in the fourth round.

  23. Minnesota Vikings: Joe Haeg, LT, North Dakota State

Minnesota has Matt Kalil at LT. They also added Andre Smith at RT and brought back Phil Loadholt to compete with Smith for the RT job. The Vikings draft Joe Haeg here to compete with T.J. Clemmings last years starting RT for the backup LT job with the loser kicking inside to guard.

  24. Cincinnati Bengals: Daryl Worley, CB, West Virginia

Cincinnati has Kirkpatrick and Jones back. Leon Hall left plus Dennard has been a huge disappointment after being a first round pick in 2014. That's why adding Worley for depth is smart. He had 13 deflections from pass breakups, but got picked apart against Coleman and Doctson on tape making him a solid backup CB that can compete with Dennard for the nickel spot.

  25. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jordan Jenkins, 3-4 LOLB, Georgia

You can never have too many pass rushers. Especially in the Steel City. Jarvis Jenkins, the Steelers 2013 first round pick looks like a bust. Bud Dupree has promise, but he was limited to 4 sacks as a rookie. I feel like Jenkins could get 5 or 6 sacks if he started 16 games, making him a great 3-4 LOLB to rotate behind Dupree.

  26. Seattle Seahawks: Sebastian Tretola, RG, Arkansas

Seattle takes Sebastian Tretola who can start at guard on either side. Britt can remain at LG for now as Tretola takes Sweezy's place at RG in Seattle.

  27. Green Bay Packers: Antwaun Woods, 3-4 LE, USC

The Green Bay Packers need a nose tackle to replace B.J. Raji. Woods may lack the run stuffing element of a 3-4 NT, but regardless he gives Green Bay more depth at 3-4 DE.

  28. Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Allen, QB, Arkansas

Alex Smith isn't getting any younger. That's why taking a flyer on Brandon Allen could pay off if he beats out Aaron Murray and Tyler Bray for the backup gig during Training Camp this Summer.

  29. Chicago Bears: Tyrone Holmes, 3-4 LOLB, Montana

Tyrone Holmes played 4-3 DE on both sides at Montana as he led the FCS with 18 sacks giving Joe Haeg some problems against North Dakota State. Holmes is only 6-4 245 lbs, so he will move to 3-4 OLB in the NFL. Holmes is one of my favorite players in this draft, so developing him behind Lawson, Houston, and McPhee makes a ton of sense.

  30. Arizona Cardinals: Eric Striker 3-4 ROLB, Oklahoma

Eric Striker played 4-3 ROLB and 3-4 ROLB at Oklahoma. Basically he'd be a backup to Chandler Jones. His pass rushing, run stuffing, and zone coverage is outstanding so if you take all of that into consideration, maybe the Cardinals can convert him to 3-4 MLB on the inside.

  31. Carolina Panthers: DeAndre Washington, RB, Texas Tech

Carolina gets an elusive pass catcher in DeAndre Washington that can compliment a 3 down injury prone Jonathan Stewart. Carolina also has Mike Tolbert at FB along with Cameron Artis-Payne as an effective #2 back. Washington would mainly be a backup third down RB on passing situations and would also play special teams where he would dominate.

  32. Baltimore Ravens: T.J. Green, FS, Clemson

Clemson safety T.J. Green can play either SS or FS. He seems like an ideal candidate for the Ravens to draft as a safety for depth with Matt Elam at SS and Eric Weddle at FS. Elam is injury prone and Weddle is getting up there in age so safety depth is needed in Baltimore.

  33. Green Bay Packers: Kelvin Taylor, RB, Florida

Green Bay needs a third string RB. Taylor can lock up a roster spot and challenge James Starks for the backup gig. If Sean T's fitness workouts with Eddie Lacy backfire and Lacy regains the weight he lost, then Taylor will have a marginal window of opportunity to be Green Bay's starting RB if Lacy screws up.

  34. Baltimore Ravens: Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State

Baltimore needs a backup that can step in if Joe Flacco's injury is behind schedule. Cardale Jones is a bargain at this juncture.

  35. San Francisco 49ers: Jalen Mills, CB, LSU

San Francisco gets Jalen Mills here. Mills can play CB, SS, or FS and is the kind of player that can play anywhere on the secondary. San Francisco needs multiple starting CBs so passing on Mills here is not an option.

  36. Baltimore Ravens: Kolby Listenbee, WR, TCU

Baltimore adds another receiver. The Ravens have Kaelin Clay as a KR who was great on special teams at Utah. Their current punt returner is LaDarius Webb, the teams starting CB. Listenbee would be another receiver for depth that could possibly start down the road, but for now he's mainly used as a punt returner on special teams so Webb can just focus on covering at corner.

  37. Dallas Cowboys: KeiVarae Russell, CB, Notre Dame

After the struggles of this secondary for years its time for an open competition and no one's spot is safe. I could see Russel climbing as high as the number 2 CB on this team.

  38. Denver Broncos: Blake Martinez, 3-4 MLB, Stanford

Denver gets Danny Trevathian's replacement here. The 6-2 245 lb Blake Martinez had 140 tackles as a MLB at Stanford as he lined up in both the 4-3 and the 3-4.

  39. Green Bay Packers: Matt Judon, 3-4 LOLB, Grand Valley State

Green Bay goes with Matt Judon as a pass rusher for depth. Judon was the top Division 2 player with 23.5 tackles for a loss and 20 sacks as a senior. Judon lined up at both 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB on either side so he provides Green Bay another pass rusher in case Clay Matthews gets stuck at 3-4 MLB once again.

  40. Cleveland Browns: Kyle Murphy, RT, Stanford

It's about time Cleveland drafted their starting RT to replace Mitchell Schwartz. One PAC 12 stud that did well at right tackle in this years draft was Kyle Murphy. Murphy struggles at LT, but dominates at RT making him a terrific addition in the late fourth round.

  41. Buffalo Bills: Javon Hargrave, 3-4 LE, South Carolina State

Buffalo gets a 5 technique player here. Hargrave can start across from Marcel Dareus at 3-4 DE.
