Oren Shiri posts his 2019 NFL Mock Draft. Find out where Quinnen Williams, Devin White, and Nick Bosa ended up.
1. Nick Bosa, 3-4 LOLB, Ohio State
Let me start out by saying that Nick Bosa is the best player in this draft, it goes without saying to have this special talent young man on the Cardinals is what exactly what this team has been looking for a impact player and a position of need there's no other choice. However, some drafts them taking Josh Allen, which is not a bad pick, give it to me, but unless they surprise us with an offensive tackle or a defensive tackle other positions of need, this will definitely be their pick.
2. Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
The San Francisco 49ers have two players to pick from here, but I think they pass on Josh Allen. Instead they go with Quinnen Williams in this year's draft, another Aaron Donald, the big man from Alabama will develop new kinda defensive front for San Francisco something this team hasn't seen in years.
3. Josh Allen, RE, Kentucky
The Jets won on their pick. Too bad the draft is not in New York because I can see the Jets fans light up and scream JETS JETS. Anyway this Kentucky defensive end will bring something special to the NFL just watch his tape
4. Clellin Ferrell, RE, Clemson
The Raiders need help but the majority of mocks draft are not thinking the way Gruden and Mayock will be come draft day. This a serious rebuilding process and it's about time to get to the nitty gritty. The Raiders have some work to do on both sides of the ball. Let me put this out there Carr isn't going anywhere anytime soon he's on new contract. So let's start out with someone to start day one and be on opposite side of Key. Ferrell is a sack master and knows how to get the ball 11.5 sacks with three forced fumbles.
5. Rashan Gary, DT, Michigan
The Bucs get a big man from Michigan. Gary is 6-5 285 lbs and has shown his way to disrupt opposing teams offensive line.
6. Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
The Giants need a successor to Eli Manning to bring his own flare and Haskins has and will add a new demention to the big apple they haven't seen in ages. He is the first quarterback coming off the board and rightfully so. In 2018, Haskins passed for over 4,800 yards and 50 touchdowns for the Buckeyes that's in a season.
7. Jonah Williams, RT, Alabama
Everyone is thinking the Jaguars first will select a quarterback with their first pick and rightly so but hold on a minute Bortles was horrible but he needed a good offensive line and if Jaguars regime to get any better then need to start upfront. Give a young quarterback the best offensive lineman this years draft and that's what your getting with Williams. They could go with QB but i see them getting their future in 2nd round because no one front of them will but they could try to trade back but this at spot Jonah is their pick.
8. Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
The Lions truly love to make a point to improve their secondary if comes to it why not select the top defensive back in this year's class. Another Tiger with all nature to become the next best corner in the NFL.
9. Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Bills get a player that may not be a major need for Buffalo but he's the best player on the board. Oliver is an impact player and game changer on defense. He has the right tools to become the next talented defensive tackle in the NFL. In college career he totaled 122 tackles and 13.5 sacks.
10. Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
Broncos need a quarterback to start day one and carry them into the future. Elway stops wasting time time and selects his man quarterback Drew Lock. In college career Lock over 12,000 passing yards and 99 touchdowns. I say amazing stats for a college quarterback.
11. Dalton Risner, RT, Kansas State
The Bengals offensive line is such a disaster there all over the place. Cincinatti needs help mostly at the right tackle position and selecting a Risnor the next big man on the board will show their fans they will have a stable and talented lineman for many years to come. He'll be able to start from day one.
12. Montez Sweat, 3-4 ROLB, Mississippi State
Packers pick up my favorite player in the draft Montez Sweat frame is perfect fit for the NFL off the edge. He is 6'6 with a muscular lean built. In college he was one of the most feared edge rushers. I can only see him continuing that trend in the NFL.
13. Jeffrey Simmons, DT, Mississipi State
Jeffery Simmons may not be going to the NFL Scouting Combine but he is one of the top players in this draft class. The Dolphins defense was less then stellar this past season partly due to injuries but fixing the interior can only improve it and that's what they get when selectiong Simmons. He is a dangerous interior rusher that will slide off blockers to get to ball carrier.
14. Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
Atlanta is another team in need of improving the interior of the defense with Oliver and Simmons off the board. The Falcons select Wilkins a Clemson Tiger just coming off a national championship. Wilkins will strengthen the interior defense plus add some much needed younger talent at that spot.
15. Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
Alex Smith looks like will not play in 2019 even though talks about his status remain an ongoing discussion. With a new leader in Washington ,the team will be in position to get back into the playoffs. Jones will not only bring youth but awareness and confidence surrounded by experienced offensive talent that he can fit right in from the opening snap.
16. Cody Ford, LG, Oklahoma
Protection for Cam Newton was no where to be found last season. The Panthers need offensive line help at the guard position and selecting Ford is the only right move in the first round. Since he is the next lineman off my board. Ford is incredible to watch on tape he very agile for a lineman with step to step sliding speed for interior lineman.
17. N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State
The Browns can look to add some wide receiver help and the team decides to get the talent in this draft N'Keal Harry. A Sun Devil that is a freakish athlete. He has frame and talent are the prototypical wide out for the NFL. Giving Baker Mayfield a weapon with the upside of Randy Moss is one of the smartest things Cleveland can do.
18. Jawaan Taylor, RT, Florida
The top priority for the Vikings is securing the offensive line. Bringing in a big bodied lineman that can play inside and out will be a major upgrade. Minnesota gets the next best tackle available Jawann Taylor out of Florida.
19. Dillon Mitchell, WR, Oregon
The Titans pick may surpise pick but Mitchell in my eyes is the second best wide receiver in the draft class. Tennessee needs to provide Mariota with targets around him and they to pair him up with an Oregon teammate.
20. Devin White, 3-4 MLB, LSU
The Steelers get lucky selecting the top inside linebacker in this class can only quickly place the Steelers missing piece back together where Ryan Shazier left off. Be live me finding a replacement for him will not be easy but White is the right man to start with.
21. Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson
The Seahawks look for an upgrade to add to their fierce defensive line. Pete Carroll this time around gets a beast on defense. The Clemson defensive tackle is another part was the most impressive part of the championship defensive line. Against the run he is tough to shed off the line of scrimage.
22. Zach Allen, 3-4 LE, Boston College
The Ravens get a physical run defender out of Boston College that is strong and great with his hands. Giving him the ability to fit right in to Baltimore defensive scheme.
23. Andre Dillard, LT, Washington State
The Houston Texans select LT Andre Dillard to bolster their offensive line. Creating more protection upfront for Watson. Who was sacked more than any quarterback this season actually a high 68 times. Dillard is the complete package upfront that maybe a bit raw but once he gets his footing down he'll be a talented lineman for many years to come.
24. Devin Bush, MLB, Michigan
In most mock drafts people don't take into account in the middle of the defense in the linebacker position lacks talent in essence the entire group other then, Tahir Whitehead was a disgrace. Devin Bush a Wolverine will bring the much needed talent in the core of the defense of the the Silver and Black. Bush is extremely quick for the Raiders he can play as a three-down player that can anchor the middle, play outside, blitz, or cover. With an enhanced front four and playmakers at linebacker, the Raiders will strengthen their gaps on defense.
25. Greg Little, LT, Ole Miss
The Eagles recognize they have weapons on offense for Wentz and strong defensive unit to most part so the decide to solidify their offensive line selecting the big man from Ole Miss. Little has the ability to recognize what the rushers are trying to do and makes adjustments to counteract that almost instantaneously at the snap of the ball. He has great athleticism, which he uses to his advantage.
26. A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss
The second Rebel in row comes of the board this time it’s a wide receiver. A.J Brown fills provides Andrew Luck with the missing target he lacked in recent years. Brown has excellent size , length and strength for a wide receiver. Brown is a big, physical and athletic receiver, making him a matchup problem for corners.
27. Nasir Adderley, SS, Delaware
The Raiders are in need of a safety that brings youth to the team not a dangling old veteran. Adderley has the tools as shown in the Senior Bowl to become one of the most elite safeties in the NFL. If there's any indication where Adderley is going to, the silver and black was crowned as one of the three captains by the Raiders coaching staff in the Senior Bowl. Plus he left with three Raiders stickers on his helmet if that's an indicator. Anyways he belongs on their secondary he can play safety, nickel, and maybe even some cornerback on the team.
28. Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
The Chargers look to continue to fix its secondary. Selecting one Byron Murphy from Washington is the right move. Murphy is an elite player that will fit into the Los Angeles scheme right away. His explosiveness, ball skills and route recognition make one of the best defensive backs going into the NFL who is able to adapt in picking up short and shallow zones.
29. Trayvon Mullen, CB, Clemson
The Chiefs need help in the secondary with two corners entering free agency this off season therefore they decide to go with a champion cornerback Trayveon Mullen. He comes into draft with tremendous upside. If the Chiefs want a true lockdown tandom they may get to see one with Mullen opposite of Fuller.
30. Deionte Thompson, SS, Alabama
The Packers look to add to their secondary at the safety position to address a big need. Deionte Thompson is a gifted athlete that speed is very impressive. He has excellent closing burst on routes breaking in front of him. Overall fluidity and movement skills in man coverage will make a big impact in the NFL.
31. Jachai Polite, 3-4 ROLB, Florida
The Rams look to add to their already potent defense attack an add defense end from Florida. Polite explosive athlete plus he knows how to bend around the corner with active hand and great spin moves to beat offensive tackles.
32. Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
The Patriots decide to give Tom Brady another weapon someone that is strong and ready to play from day one with or without Gronkowski on opposite side. Bill Belichick knows how to use two tight ends to continue build his winning ways. Noah Fant is best tight end in this year's class and deserves to be in the first round to round out the first round. Fant is a stud at TE and plays tall at 6'5 he's a decent in-line blocker who is very versatile.
33. Yodny Cajuste, LT, West Virginia
Cardinals got the best player in the draft in the first round now the get protection for their young quarterback. Cajuste will probably start right away at left tackle were he can show his power in the running and passing game.
34. Brian Burns, RE, Florida State
The Colts are looking for a pass rush and Burns defines he strength is getting to ball carrior whether it's the quarterback or runner. He has a blend of length, flexibility, burst, refinement that many others don't have. He is a speed to bend pass rusher and has the ability to excel in the NFL.
35. D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
The Raiders traded away their number one reciever Amari Cooper to Dallas. No getting him back anytime soon. The Silver and Black need to give Carr a go to man that's not a tight end. Metcalf gives Carr a big target he is very athlete and has ideal size for reciever. What makes him tough is his ability to run through tackles and his arm stretch ability to catch the ball over defenders makes him one of best wide outs in this class.
36. Kelvin Harmon, WR, North Carolina State
The 49ers continued to struggle in the red zone this past season. San Francisco most potent target was their tightend George Kittle, that only managed five touchdowns. Kelvin Harmon, has been one of ACC most productive recievers over the last two years. His blend of size, physically, ball skills and fluidity make him an ideal fit for the 49ers.
37. Chris Lidstrom, RG, Boston College
The Giants get their new franchise quarterback in first round now the team gives him his first dose of security guard. Lidstrom is a strong lineman that has a combination of size, movement skills and technique that rarely loses battles. He will be an immediate started in the NFL. Putting him next to second year left guard Will Hernandez only does wonders for running back Saquon Barkley moving forward.
38. Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
The Jaguars simple need a replacement for the suffering Bortels. Who never turned out as hoped. Kyle Murray is exactly the twist this team needs to get back to completing in their division. Murray is fantastic fit in Jacksonville more I look into it. He has speed, escapability, a powerful throwing arm and good enough general accuracy to receivers to catch the ball giving him the ability to becoming a effective starting quarterback in the NFL.
39. Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn State
Bucs last season big defincency was in their secondary especially at the cornerback position and with four corners going into free agency including Brent Grimes their leader. Tampa grabs the corner from Penn State. Oruwariye has size, strength, length and ball skills make him an ideal fit as outside zone and press corner in the NFL. He is a productive playmaker and will be a starter on the NFL.
40. Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina
The Bills primary need is a go to receiver. Someone who capable of making a big impact on offense and give Josh Allen a big target. Samuel is a great fit for Buffalo. He has abilty to play upside and from the slot. His blend of ball skins and post catch ability making him a intriguing weapon.
41. Elgton Jenkins, C, Mississippi State
At this time we really don't know who going to taking snaps but if it's Drew Lock is how about giving him some protection in the middle. The Broncos take one of the better centers off the board. Elgton Jenkins has good wide base to anchor against power rushers with ideal size for interior offensive lineman in the NFL.
42. T'Von Coney, MLB, Notre Dame
The Bengals linebacker core is a mess with exception of Nick Virgil sorry but Vontaze Burfict isn't realible anymore. The team can seriously use an upgrade. Coney fits the mold in Cincinnati he has the physicality to be a force defender. He is so strong tackler who can outside his frame to get to runners.
43. Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame
The Lions defense front is so major question mark. A force in the interior of the defense is one of steps the team needs to take to improve the unit. They score on this pick and pick up Jerry Tillery a complete power pass rusher.
44. Khalil Hodge, 3-4 MLB, Buffalo
Packers look to improve the middle linebacker spot Hodge brings great techniques to the table for Green Bay. He has the ability to have his hands quickly wrapped around the ball carriers to secure the tackle without dangling. He is a defender ready to make an impact on Sundays.
45. Gerald Willis III, DT, Miami FL
The Falcons are losing Grady Jarrett to free agency it's not much fluid through there at defense tackle position. Gerald Willis III is a beast with right coaching in Atlanta he will be a dangerous defender for the opposition. However, he does come with some character issues but if develops he can become the better defensive tackle in the NFL.
46. Eric McCoy, C, Texas A & M
The Redskins selected their quarterback of the future with their first pick now they give him some security. Eric McCoy provides Washington with a big man that can handle the strength of nose tackles one on one. He also has the ability to take short steps to open up holes in the running game. His quickness and agility are a great complement to his power.
47. Charles Omenihu, RE, Texas
The Panthers enter the offseason with several needs to address. Improving the ends up front on defense becomes a priority. Omenihu length, explosiveness and physicallity make him extremely difficult to handle in one on one situations in both the run and passing game. He is very versatile and will be able to fit in all over the defensive front for Carolina.
48. Jaylon Ferguson, RE, Louisiana Tech
The Dolphins need help on defensive line to place some pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Without going into much detail about the current unit it's simple put they need fresh blood on the attack. Jaylon Ferguson is strong run defender at the point of attack with great hands. He is a workhouse and very productive in 3 seasons he 122 tackles, 41.5 for a loss and 27 sacks and five forced fumbles.
49. David Edwards, RT, Wisconsin
The Browns have a young quarterback and just gave him a valuable weapon in the first now they need to give him the much needed protection. David Edwards is a promising right tackle prospect for the NFL. His skills as a run blocker and athleticism provide the tools for him to be a starter in the NFL.
50. Jaquan Johnson, SS, Miami FL
The Vikings would be wise to make it a priority to get a safety right here. There is Anthony Harris but they need to resign him and Jayron Kearse is also a free agent. Johnson is a very physical safety he plays forward by aggressively attacking the football, playing thought contact and finishing. Johnson totaled 92 tackles, one pass broken up and two interceptions. The knock against him is his size.
51. Anthony Nelson, 3-4 ROLB, Iowa
The Titans need to build their defense and specifically on the ends. A top quality pass rusher is ideal at this time. With veteran backer Brian Orakpo playing the final season of his four-year, $31 million deal, it’s about time Tennessee gets both younger and cheaper. Nelson has impressive tape and eye-popping physical traits that will manage to surprise people once he plays in the NFL.
52. DeAndre Baker, CB, Georgia
For the Steelers one may not think a corner isn’t a priority but in fact it is. Joe Haden isn’t getting any younger and other than Mike Hilton this team doesn’t have another cornerback they could count on. His blend of ball skills, press technique, route anticipation skills and awareness combined with modest fluidity and long speed make him best served to function as a press/zone corner. Baker is an extreme competitor which shows up in how he tackles, battles at the catch point and plays off contact.
53. Chase Winovich, LE, Michigan
Eagles gave Wentz some protection in the first in this round now the team goes defense and gets the best edge available filling a primary need. Winovich is a highly polished defender who illustrates a great understanding of the game and how to defeat blocks. Winovich totaled 68 tackles with 17 for a loss, five sacks and a pass batted.
54. Max Scharping, RT, Northern Illinois
The Texans need to continue to build their offensive line and bring some additional protection for Watson on the inside. Scharping is a good college football player he a four-year starter that enters the NFL with experience at both left and right tackle although his best NFL course could be playing inside at guard. Notice on tape is the way he effectively washes-away power on down blocks and does well to explode into contact as a run blocker.
55. Mack Wilson, 3-4 MLB, Alabama
The Texans now can get a bonus pick in this round look to add to middle linebacker. Wilson has a terrific ceiling as a starting MLB in the NFL. He shows patience in reading the mesh point, speed to scrape sideline to sideline and short area quickness to defeat blocks. With top shelf hip mobility and range, and has the ability to well in the pass game in the NFL.
56. Anthony Johnson, WR, Buffalo
The Patriots love to give more targets for Brady and selecting a small school weapon will another great piece to the champions puzzle. Johnson is a really tough receive Belichick will love. Johnson can work through contact at the line of scrimmage and in the air. He also has the ability to play on the inside and outside. Wow just imagine him and Edelman on the field at the same time.
57. Bennie Snell Jr., RB, Kentucky
The Eagles in this pick focus on improving their running game. That can make offense even more potent. Snell has the size and power to operate as a downhill runner in gap/power scheme for Philadelphia. His vision, power and ability to win in pass pro is his key to success.
58. Dre'Mont Jones, DT, Ohio State
With this pick Dallas looks to bulk up the defensive line. They need someone to step in and have an immediate impact. Jones is a special athlete with rare movement skills and his hand counters are elite and will lead him to a starting role. He will become a rush specialist for Cowboys.
59. Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple
The Colts have a great run defense, but they struggled to stop the pass. They need a ball hawk at comer they can definitely use upgrade since their secondary suffered this past season. Ya-Sin is visibly comfortable playing in tight quarters, and has great body control and flexibility — both traits that project him favorably as man-coverage starter. With wrestling background he will come to the NFL with commitment and hard work attitude and can mold into one of the better corners in the league.
60. Kaleb McGary, RT, Washington
The Chargers look to provide more protection upfront on the offensive line for Phillip Rivers. He cannot ask for better selection at this point. McGary is very impressive in pass protection he has a powerful punch–one-handed and two–that can shake defenders off their spot. He has a large body frame with the strength to move defenders and pave open lanes up front.
61. Juan Thornhill, FS, Virginia
The Chiefs stay within the secondary with their second pick and go with Juan Thornhill. He has experience at both safety and corner with the Cavs. Thornhill does well to raise and compete at the catch point, particularly when he can play forward on the ball. He's an solid tackler and plays the game with a physically as he works through contact.
62. Ben Powers, LG, Oklahoma
With the Saints trying to forget the outcome of the Championship what better way to start gear up for their return by adding protection for Drew Brees. Ben Powers is a strong lineman that is well built. He does well as a solid, wide base as a run blocker were he fits right in the New Orleans offense.
63. Devin Singletary, RB, Florida Atlantic
The Chiefs running game might not pop out as a major need but they actually with a few players moving towards free agency it becomes more clear Williams will need help in the back field. Chiefs decide to grab a running back with great potential just watch his tape. Singletary has the ability to make tackles miss and find space and he has high ceiling to grow in the NFL. For the Owls he total over 1300 yards and had 22 touchdowns just last season a true workhorse. He may turn out to be one of the surprises of day 2.
64. Will Grier, QB, West Virginia
The Patriots find it intrigued that a top quarterback is still there and Belichick is always looking for a possible incumbent Brady. He won’t stay there forever, or will he? Grier did very well in the Big 12 this past season passing he threw for 266 completions, 37 touchdowns and 3864 total yards. He also has shown that he makes terrific decisions and has an effective arm accuracy.
